I’ve decided before this has even aired that I need to see more of creepy Glen. There are all kinds of theories out there about what’s going to ultimately happen with his character, but I don’t know what to think yet. I need more to make a decision! And I want to see the little boy who plays Glen in some kind of interview NOT being creepy.

I’d also like to see more Joan tonight! We got to see her conga-ing last week, so let’s see what the show can offer up. The previews had her in a hospital gown – I’m worried about our Joanie but trying to remember that AMC likes to mess with our heads when it comes to this show’s teasers.

DVD Review: Prime Suspect – The Complete Collection

DVD Review: Prime Suspect – The Complete Collection

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyfrederick @thetwocentscorp.com

Completing my trio of Acorn Media DVD reviews is what I might consider the best British drama series ever made: Prime Suspect. It’s probably a tie between this and Spooks, but Prime Suspect is the series I grew up with and spent countless hours watching when it ran as part of Mystery! and Masterpiece Theatre on PBS. I was too young to remember some of the earlier series, but I always said I was going to go back and watch it from beginning to end. Thankfully, Acorn has packaged all seven series into one collection, which will be available on September 7.

How does the set stack up to the show’s greatness? Read on.

Project Runway – Recap & Review – Larger Than Life

Project Runway
Larger than Life

Original Airdate: August 5th, 2010

Jake G., Two Cents Reporter

Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to my first ever Project Runway recap. I know, I know. Last week I missed the premiere, but my DVR decided that it was not going to be my best friend anymore, and cutoff half-way in between. But we made up and now I’m ready to get down to business.

I must say, I am still on the fence of Lifetime’s handling of the show. I didn’t completely hate it’s debut season, though I wouldn’t exactly call it memorable (except for the adorable Carol Hannah). Last season was a big improvement (thank you, Anthony), but still paled to earlier versions. Does this one continue the upswing? Read on to see.

My So-Called Life – Summer DVD Review – So-Called Angels

My So-Called Life
So-Called Angels

Original Air Date: Dec 22, 1994

Theresa – Staff Writer

Since I only had time to do 10 episodes, I’ve mostly been following the trajectory of Angela and Jordan, with a dash of Brian. However, My So-Called Life spoke to a lot of people through the character of Rickie. He has floated through a dichotomous world, unable to be a part of either side of anything. He became a protector and empathizer, but he had no one to do the same for him. “So-Called Angels” brings the focus on Rickie and how he is a part of everything, and a little part of everybody.

So You Think You Can Dance – 1 of 4 Eliminated

So You Think You Can Dance
1 of 4 Eliminated

So my prediction/hope for tonight is that Adechicke goes home. No bones about it, he just doesn’t have the x factor for me. And for the first time it’s entirely up to voters who goes home, so really I have no idea what will happen.

The group number is cool, kind of Marie Antoinette quirky. But it’s all All Stars, which I find a bit strange. It’s great to see all those dancers on stage together though. They are so talented. They’ve all grown so much since their own season.

Welcome to another week in the Hamptons! The Summer is winding down and so is our favorite Thursday night escape. Only a couple of episodes left.

You know, as I watch the synopsis of how we got to this point in the show, I am reminded of how angry I was about how Hank was treated by the hospital. I think he made the right choice in saving the boy. He didn’t let the rich benefactor die, he just couldn’t save both. Anyone else think Hank got a bum deal? Let me know.

Burn Notice – Recap & Review – Center of the Storm

Burn Notice

Sara M. – TwoCents Reviewer

It seems as though Michael has rather bad luck. Or at least a decent bout of bad luck from job to job. With every “simple” client he takes on, things almost always go awry. This week we have the return of our old FBI buddies, looking for Michael’s help this time around. Things are never easy for Mike and his friends, while working this job he gets involved with a hit man and is trying to set up a meeting with everyone’s favorite psychopath, Simon.

A big storm is about to hit and Miami better brace itself.

Psych – Recap & Review – Chivalry Is Not Dead, But Someone Is

Chivalry Is Not Dead, But Someone Is

I’m very used to the pattern that Psych episodes follow, which includes the opening flashback. The flashback isn’t always good, or skillfully integrated, but I’m so used to it that an episode that starts without one just feels off.

And this week, on Psych, Liam James takes a vacation. Instead, of the flashback, we start right off with the death of the day, a man in a tux who has a coughing fit and falls off a balcony. I had flashbacks of House. Is this false start an indication of the entire episode quality, or can this episode reclaim it’s true Psych-ness?

Two Cents and Five Questions With Coby Bell

Bell

…..Coby Bell, Actor, Burn Notice

If there’s an actor who knows how to win me over, it’s Coby Bell. I was staunchly prepared to dislike the idea of a new character on Burn Notice, until I saw him take the role and do more with it than I ever expected. As burned spy Jesse Porter, Bell is shaking up the series and showing some amazing talent, and I’m happy to say he’s changed my mind completely. After admitting I was wrong about him, I sat down with him Thursday to talk about his future on Burn Notice, the return of his series The Game, and his career-making role on Third Watch.

The Two Cents: I feel the compulsory need to apologize for being so opposed to your character in the beginning; I have to admit that I was totally wrong about you. What’s it been like for you, as far as the reaction of the fans?

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip – Summer DVD Review – The Disaster Show & Breaking News

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
The Disaster Show & Breaking News

Original Air Dates: May 24, 2007 and May 31, 2007

Sad, only three more reviews to go of one of the best single seasons of television of all time, in my humble opinion of course.

The Disaster Show – This is one of my favorite episodes because it has the impeccable and hysterical Allison Janney as the guest star for the week. And in her perfection, she gets to host the annual rite of passage, the disaster show. The props/cue card union has staged a strike (because Danny is an idiot and offended them), and so the show has the potential for a catastrophe. And chaos ensues, tee hee.
