Two Cents & Five Questions with Sendhil Ramamurthy

Ramamurthy

…..Sendhil Ramamurthy, actor, Covert Affairs

We got the chance to sit and talk to Sendhil about his character Jai on Covert Affairs. Let me tell you , girls…his voice is as dreamy as his looks. He has such an old time classic handsomeness , like Cary Grant and Tony Curtis…doesn’t he? So anyways, here is the interview and I hope you like it.

TheTwoCents: How would you describe your character and, most specifically, his relationship with Arthur because there’s some kind of hidden motive going on there? At least there appears to be so.

Sendhil Ramamurthy: Well, my character, Jai Wilcox is a second generation CIA man. His father, Henry Wilcox, was the Head of Clandestine Services, so he’s CIA royalty, basically. My character’s father’s name is Henry Wilcox—there’s some baggage that comes with being his son and it kind of permeates through the CIA. So, you see how Jai kind of has to deal with that.

The Newlywed Game

Original Air date: Jan 6, 1983

Ralph and Bill are driving somewhere and Ralph is grousing about how he’s too old for standard pre-wedding antics like bachelor parties. Ralph is wearing just a shirt over the suit. It only took him 3 seasons to give up on the pants. Anyway, they show up at a barn out in the middle of nowhere when someone inside starts shooting at them. Only there’s really no one inside, it’s just a machine gun set up on a remote. Then some kind of tanker truck pulls up and is about to run over Bill’s fed issued car. Ralph stops it and peeks inside the truck where he sees it’s being controlled remotely too. Ralph takes off back to get Pam.

Pam is listening to an old lady sing crappily. Pam’s mother says it was beautiful singing and Pam tries to get out of having this old biddy warble at her wedding saying she’d like something more contemporary and also that she can’t make a decision without Ralph. And guess who just happens to crash land in the bushes. Pam’s mother tells Ralph all about the 200 guests and how big this wedding is going to be. Ralph does not want a big wedding and is peeved.

I’m not sure if I should be somber while writing this review or not. My DVD set says this is the last episode of Firefly that aired on FOX, while the Interweb tells me that there were three more before it got the axe. Either way, we’re coming to the second half of the adventures of the starship Serenity, and that’s no fun.

We pick up where “Ariel” left off, with Simon scrutinizing the recovered data regarding his sister’s brain, and wondering what it all means. The crew has their score to worry about fencing. Wash and Mal get to pair up this week. Not to mention the return of everyone’s least favorite person in the ‘verse, Niska. It’ll be a busy episode.

Hey fellow Entourage fans. So, I have an issue. For the second week in a row, I have to put an “adult content” warning on the recap. Sure, I’m writing the “cleaner” version of what’s being discussed and those reading know that the show is racy, but I don’t understand why it is getting to be like that every week. I was enjoying the show diving into the bonds of the guys and Ari’s potential downfall. Why do we have to go backwards in quality of show for sake of … I’m not even sure what. What was supposed to be their last season ratings? Competing with the other HBO shows?

With that being said, this week Ari is trying to stop Lizzie from airing his dirty laundry, Vince is out of control loving Turtle’s tequila, Alex is around some more (yay!) and we get more of Scotty. Let’s see what crazy times ensue. (**Adult content discussed after the jump.**)

Can you believe that this week the designers were asked to be inspired by the contents of their stomachs? That’s right. After a brunch at Aarón Sanchez’s Centrico, the four remaining contestants had to pick one of the four dishes they’ve already eaten to be their individual inspiration, without seeing them again (and probably they didn’t get to look at them much either before it went down the gullet).

The dishes were tropical fruit salad, huevos rancheros, corn tamale and rice pudding empanadas with mango chutney. I would tell you which designer chose which one, but it would be meaningless. It’s just food people!

What makes someone “a man”? Is it tying a necktie? Taking a punch? Cooking a steak? Fixing a sink? Or driving really, really fast?

This week’s episode focuses on PJ’s boys trying to figure out if they are “men.” Well, except Brendan he had an entirely different problem to work through. As cute as he is, Brendan can not pull off the knit hat and hoodie combination.

True Blood – Recap & Review – Night On The Sun

In which everyone is angry or gay or both. Eric is still a flippin Machiavellian mastermind, Lafayette’s mama is hilarious (“Aahhh! Jesus!”), Jason is just looking for more trouble than he knows what to do with and Hoyt was right – Crystal really was named after meth. And Bill and Sookie break up a little bit for a minute and then totally don’t.

Oh, Bon Temps, you weird little town. While Sookie’s in the hospital and Eric’s in Mississippi, Bon Temps is carrying on. Sam finds himself as his brother’s constant watchdog (pun intended) while Tommy tries to pick a fight with every single person he sees. So… when he isn’t forced to fight, he likes to fight? Arlene has a creepy dream about Rene (Hi Rene!) and hires a creepy waitress named Holly, who should play a part in next season’s main drama. Jason and Crystal have some couch sex after she breaks it off with her fiancé and seeks refuge with him. He then goes to Hotshot and tells her dad to back off and not to come looking for her, which is so stupid. It’s nice to have you back, stupid, impulsive Jason!

Leverage – Recap & Review – The Three-Card Monte Job

Leverage
The Three-Card Monte Job

Original Air Date: Aug 8, 2010

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyfrederick @thetwocentscorp.com

This week makes me a very happy camper. Nate is my favorite Leverage character; I just love figuring out what makes him tick, to the point that I insisted on playing him when I playtested the Leverage RPG, and every time I get to interview Timothy Hutton, I squeal a little. So an episode where we get to meet Nate’s dad? Awesome. What kinda guy spawned Nate Ford? Apparently, Tom Skerritt, and he might be evil.

Before we get to that, though, poor small business owners are being roughed up, pressured to be accomplices in crimes. One such poor guy comes to Nate and the team, laying out the whole scheme and the death threats to his kids. Hardison backtraces the call on the cell phone the guy was given, and it leads back to some less than scrupulous Russians who need money after getting a bunch seized by the cops. Cue Eliot and Parker, looking cool as ever, sneaking around the Russians’ headquarters while Eliot and Hardison argue over the definition of “smart phone.” If there’s one thing Christian Kane does well, it’s sneak around and look permanently ticked off, which is made even more hilarious by the fact that he’s probably one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Then Parker hits him in the head with a crowbar. “Don’t throw crowbars at people!” he tells her, and she says, “Could’ve just tasered him!” Touche.

Babylon 5 – Summer DVD Recap & Review – And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place

Aeon Cole – TwoCents Reviewer

This is the twentieth episode of the third season. Londo uses G’Kar and Vir to gain power in the Centauri Royal Court. Sheridan is consumed by his analysis of the Shadows’ strategies. This more of a character episode than a plot episode and I debated whether or not to include it in this series. However, it is my favorite episode and couldn’t resist.

And the countdown begins, Z minus 14 days.
