When the DPD gets word of an incoming shipment from Sudanese arms dealer Hasaan Waleed, Annie is sent to enlist Christopher McAuley, a former CIA operative who may hold the key to finding Hasaan. However, there are others showing an interest in the case, including former Director of Clandestine Services, Henry Wilcox, and, for reasons unknown, Ben Mercer. It looks like our girl Annie is going to have to try and save the day….again.

MasterChef – Recap & Review – Top 14

MasterChef

Top 14

Original Air Date: Aug 10, 2010

JD – Associate Staff Writer

Last night was a bit of a culinary whirlwind. Over the last two episodes, the judges picked 30 chefs to compete for the title of Master Chef, but of course it would have been impossible to actually follow that many contestants though the whole show. So this week, 16 of them get sent home. The tests given to them were both pretty basic–as basic as you can get, really–but a chef needs to have the basics down before they can even hope to win a competition. Some people were impressive, others not so much, and a few of the people we got to know during the auditions failed to make the cut.

The Mighty Boosh – Summer DVD Review – Journey To The Centre Of The Punk

The Mighty Boosh
Journey To The Centre Of The Punk

Original Air Date: Nov 22, 2007

JD – Associate Staff Writer

Much like Nanagedon, Journey to the Centre of the Punk is yet another episode in which Vince’s latest fashion style winds up getting the boys in trouble. At least this time it happens, it doesn’t threaten the safety of the world as we know it. Just Vince, really. I mean, Howard does get chased around by the Spirit of Jazz and Vince’s new punk friends, but how can you compare that to slowly being killed from the inside by a rogue jazz cell?! Poor Vincey. Poor Stupid Vincey.

Sorry I didn’t bring you a recap last week. To be honest, this season is very underwhelming. In fact, as proof I’m not bias, I asked a friend and fellow long-time Rescue Me viewer what he thought of this week’s episode, which I thought was better than previous episodes of the season. His answer? “Eh, it was okay.”

With that being said, I am combining the last two episodes into one recap so I don’t miss a week. I think we’re almost done with this season actually, as this week was episode 7 and it is rumored the last two seasons were split into 11 or 12 episode seasons. If that is the the case, we’re only one month away from the season finale. I really hope next season is better.

My Two Cents – How and How Not To Introduce New Characters

Nice to meet you?

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyfrederick@thetwocentscorp.com

We’ve all heard the saying that only two things are inevitable – death and taxes. Change is a part of life, and it’s also part of a TV series. Rare is the ensemble where the entire original cast is still there by the end of a show’s run if the show goes more than a year or two. I know Third Watch had most of its regulars at the end of its six-year run, but they still lost a handful of characters, and that was a rarity; conversely, on Spooks, there was one character billed as a regular who died in the second episode. When someone leaves, there’s that hotly contested happening: a new character. Some are great, some are horrible – and can the fans figure out the difference?

White Collar – Recap & Review – Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business

This is not Neal Caffrey’s best day. Why? Because he has to deal with yet another face from his past: an insurance investigator named Sara, who really doesn’t like him. It’s like Alex, part two. I’m supposed to be impressed by the fact that she can beat up some guy and take his Mercedes, but I’m not. Seems she’s missing some Japanese bonds and needs the FBI’s help to get them back.

(A minor qualm: why the heck are we supposed to be all excited over her, and yet Sharif Atkins is still listed as a guest star? C’mon now.)

Third Watch – Summer DVD Club – Responsible Parties

Third Watch

Third Watch
Responsible Parties

Original Air Date: Oct 31, 1999

Brittany Frederick – Staff Writer
brittanyfrederick @thetwocentscorp.com

In any group of people, there’s always the responsible one. The one who is always the designated driver, the camp counselor, the person who keeps everyone else from screwing up (or at least screwing up more) and generally doesn’t get much thanks for it. They’re just expected to always be there and always be the voice of reason. Speaking from experience, it’s not an enviable position to be in. This episode is a brilliant depiction of exactly that.

This is only the fifth episode of Third Watch, and already the characters are better formed than I’ve seen in some first seasons of shows. Already, Ty and Sully are already bantering about Sully’s pretty much dead social life.

Last week Ray and Chris were shot, left to die in the street. This action can’t go unacknowledged, not in Gene Hunt’s city. The detectives assemble, sans one, with their weapons of choice, ready for revenge. Then manhunt for Jimmy McManus changes and becomes a murder investigation. The FBI arrives with the intention of finding out who killed McManus.

Their main suspect? Sam Tyler.

Welcome to another great week at Camp Victory! I really do love this show more week after week. I can relate to these kids; I’ve been there. I’ve dreaded the activities and I’ve struggled with friendships and crushes at fat camp. At fat camp the playing field is more level and it’s easier to find acceptance from your peers. If that’s what you want, of course.

On to the show, a weigh-in is approaching!
