Welcome back to the Hamptons! Did you know that Hamptons is a singular? I didn’t either. Just one of many Evan’s revelations in this episode. I loved the episode, especially the laser tag scene. But I was also upset because, as I expected, we find out that Eddie R. is indeed bad news.

Let’s get started in…North Dakota?!?

Burn Notice – Recap & Review – Hard Time

Burn Notice
Hard Time

Original Air Date: Aug 12, 2010

Sara M. – TwoCents Reviewer

Michael Westen never gets a break. In fact, I would wager that he is the busiest burned spy ever. Fi and Sam help to lighten the load, but the truth remains the same. This week Michael is interrogating psychopathic Simon, going into prison undercover to protect a man marked for death, digging up a grave, and getting closer to figuring out just why he was really burned.

All of this aside, there’s one major lesson to take away from this episode. Don’t mess with Michael. No matter how small the job, he is the last person you want to make angry… well except for Fiona.

Luther

The BBC has turned out top-notch crime dramas for decades, and starting October 17, U.S. viewers will get to see the next one: Luther, which stars Idris Elba (The Wire) as the titular detective working from a script by Neil Cross (Spooks/MI-5). That pedigree alone makes it worth a look, but Luther also presents a darkly engaging narrative that is sure to leave viewers wanting more.

So You Think You Can Dance
Season 7 Finale

Original Air Date: August 12, 2010

I don’t know about you all, but I had to wait forever for this finale because of the pre-season football game, so I had to stay up way past my bed time for this! It’s the FINALE though!! I have picked someone who I want to win, have you?

The opening number is with all the All Stars and contestants who have been booted. Including some nice b-boy work from Domnic and Jose and Twitch. Even Alex makes an appearance in chair, which is…weird. Only 117 more minutes til they announce the winner!

Psych – Recap & Review – Shawn and Gus in Drag (Racing)

Psych
Shawn and Gus in Drag (Racing)

Original Air Date: Aug 11, 2010

Em – Sr. Reviewer
em@thetwocentscorp.com

Little Shawn and little Gus have yet another little misadventure. This time, they try to drive Henry’s truck, and of course, he catches them. It’s interesting to see a flashback that’s less about Shawn’s training or Shawn being goofy, and more about Shawn and Henry having a strained relationship.

Cut to a man with much better taste in cars, stealing a Lamborghini. Lassiter suspects the thief is part of a group of street racers he’s been investigating. He and Juliet pursue him, and find him murdered. Harsh much, karma?

Friends – Summer DVD Review – The Last One Part 1

Friends
The Last One, Part 1

Original Air Date: May 6, 2004

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

With only two episodes left to write about, did you really think I wasn’t going to cover the final two??

When I last left you, the gang was heading to Barbados, and a lot happened there. Thanks to fate (and a few drinks, rain, bad advice and weird paleontology conference traditions…), Charlie and Joey broke up, Charlie and Ross got together, Joey and Rachel kissed, and although David went with Phoebe, Mike showed up and proposed! Eventually throughout the season, Ross has to adjust to Rachel and Joey together (who don’t last), Charlie and Ross break up, we meet Erica (the birth mother to Monica and Chandler’s baby – aka the amazing Anna Faris), Chandler and Monica decide to move (which breaks Joey’s heart), Phoebe gets married in a snowstorm outside of Central Perk, Joey’s agent dies, Rachel takes a job in Paris and after her goodbye party, her and Ross have an amazing night together, which brings up a bunch of old feelings.

All of that leads up us to this … THE LAST ONE. The episode, when it originally aired, had been taped in front of family and friends who signed confidentiality clauses and not one spoiler had been leaked. Millions of fans waited to see what would happen. I remember shutting off my phone and crying for the entire hour. But for today, I give you the first half hour. ENJOY!

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip – Summer DVD Review – K&R Part I & K&R Part II

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
K&R Part I & K&R Part II

Original Air Dates: June 7, 2007 and June 14, 2007

Rachel M – Associate Staff Writer

rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

K&R Parts I, II and III are amazing. Nate Corddry deserves an Emmy for his performance here. These shows will put a lump in your throat and leave it there.

K&R Part I – Mark is one of three hostages taken, and while Tom tries to find answers, Jordan is in the emergency room with her baby in trouble. The potential tragedy makes everyone think about 9/11. The show has had many flashbacks, some referring to the 9/11 event and how it effected everyone and the show. The landscape of late night comedy shifted along with the public perception of the war and our place in it.

Did you know that Cleveland used to be spelled Cleaveland? I didn’t either, but Melanie sure does. On this week’s episode we have guest star, Joe Jonas and a goiter! This episode belongs to Wendie Malick. She is brilliant with her physical comedy chops and really got to stretch her legs with this one.

Let’s not waste any more time. On with the show!

Am I the only one getting more and more fond of the Parker/Kim pairing? It’s really kind of cute and smarmy all at the same time. But this week, Jane’s leaning toward the “smarmy”. She’s incredibly excited to be sought out for an age-discrimination suit against a huge Fortune 500 company, until Parker makes her second chair for Kim.

In all fairness, as Kim points out, she’s been Jane’s second chair pretty often. However, neither of them is prepared for their client to be just 34 years old. Kim accuses Jane of setting her up, and Jane has a perfectly delivered, “Yes, I cleverly arranged for my client to be 30 years younger than I thought she’d be. I’m a diabolical genius.”

rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

Cue dramatic music and video montage of all the dancers who have been cut. It’s Finale week!!! Now, let’s just take a moment to express our annoyance at the producers who make us sit through FOUR hours of television to go from three dancers down to one. Will there be some great performances? Sure. Will there be some special guests? For sure.

Will it be excruciating? Absofreakinlutely.
