Last week, Vince totally ruined his meeting with Randall Wallace and Ari’s world fell apart – personally and professionally. However, on the flip side, Billy put together a great project for Drama (although Drama doesn’t see it that way yet) and while Turtle thinks he is doing great in the tequila business, Carlos doesn’t exactly see it that way.

This week, Vince spirals downward even more (and his relationship with Sasha will be tested), new Ari comes out to play, the network loves Billy’s cartoon and hopefully we see more of Scotty.

Leverage – Recap & Review – The Rashomon Job

Leverage
The Rashomon Job

Original Air Date: Aug 22, 2010

An episode with multiple points of view is a tricky thing to do. It can either go really well (does anyone remember NBC’s Boomtown?), or it can get repetitive and muddled (like, well, the bad episodes of Boomtown). This week, Leverage employs the device in order to shed more light on our protagonists’ backstory, by showing us what happened when they were all after the same artifact.

Everyone is hanging out at McRory’s, talking about the Dagger of Aqu’abi, now on display at a local museum. All of them want to take credit for stealing it five years ago, and all of them think the others are lying. Sophie’s idea is to tell Nate their individual stories and let him decide who’s telling the truth. Each of them relate their different versions of what happened that night.

After ordering a macchiato that took 36 words to describe, Deb-Jane turns around to find herself facing old Jane. Old Jane emphatically disapproves of the way Deb is living her life, but Deb-Jane chooses to brush off her concern and answer her cell phone. At which point Deb-Jane wakes up from her dream.

Mad Men – Recap & Review – The Chrysanthemum and the Sword

Previously on Mad Men, Betty once tried therapy and it didn’t go over well. Sally couldn’t get over the death of her grandfather, and she hates her mother. It’s just another day in the life, right? We were shown flashbacks of season one in the previews, notably of Don dismissing therapy completely as a last resort when doctor’s don’t know what to do.

Now, there’s a lot that happened in this episode, and as we get further into how the world was changing during this time period race, sexuality, relationships – it’s all coming into play. I thought last week was amazing, but this episode was even more so.

Covert Affairs Gets a Second Season

photo: usa

Variety has reported that USA is renewing new spy series Covert Affairs for a second season just a month after its premiere.

The hit drama starring Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorman, and Sendhil Ramamurthy has continued to grow since it debuted on July 13, scoring it’s highest ratings last Tuesday, Aug. 17 with 5.4 million viewers. This makes it the highest-rated show in it’s time slot, and the most-watched cable show overall in the 18-49 demo.

USA also confirmed news that Perabo was recently injured on the show’s Toronto set. She suffered a knee injury while performing a stunt on Wednesday, but has received treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Welcome to another great week in the Hamptons. This week we have cyber wars, intrigue and deception. Just what the doctor ordered to make a great episode. It made me a little sad though, because Divya is trying to find her replacement. Don’t go Divya! The show wouldn’t be as good without her, so I am hopeful that she won’t choose Raj.

Now let’s get to the episode, shall we?

My So-Called Life – Summer DVD Review – In Dreams Begin Responsibilities

My So-Called Life
In Dreams Begin Responsibilities

Original Air Date: Jan 26, 1995

Theresa – Staff Writer
theresa@thetwocentscorp.com

So here we are – the end. As you may know, My So-Called Life was cancelled after just one season. The first truly brilliant teenage show ended its season in 1995, unsure of its fate, leaving the characters drifting without a conclusion – just like teenagers.

The final episode begins with Angela recounting a dream where she is stuck to the floor and can’t reach Jordan, and sometimes Graham. Eventually she catches him and screams, while he stands emotionless. In real life, it’s the other way around, and Angela won’t respond when Jordan tries to make conversation.

Emily Henderson & Michael Moeller, Finalists, HGTV Design Star

Well here we are at the end. This Sunday, HGTV will crown a new Design Star from the Final Two (who were actually paired up from the beginning in the White Box Challenge).

Will it be Emily or Michael? Fashion or first apartments? Matching homes to their owners or helping those owners adapt through transitions? Both designers took time out of their busy schedule to talk with us about the show, their possible futures, and how cool it would be to hang out with Don Draper.

TheTwoCents: Congrats to the both of you on making it to the finale! In the penultimate episode, you had to design a space based on your potential show concept. Can you each talk a little more about what your HGTV show would be like and what you would contribute to the HGTV design family? Ladies first.

Michael J. Fox Guest Stars On The Good Wife

fox

Five-time Emmy Award winner Michael J. Fox faces off against current Emmy Award nominee Julianna Margulies in an upcoming episode of the new season of The Good Wife.

Fox will appear as Simon Canning, a shrewd and cynical litigator whom Alicia (Margulies) faces in a massive class action. Canning is willing to use anything in court, including symptoms of his neurological condition, to create sympathy for his otherwise unsympathetic client: a giant pharmaceutical company.
