The Big C
Summertime

It’s another week in the crazy new life of Cathy Jamison! Adam gets a rude awakening when Cathy wakes him up after concluding that she has failed to teach him not to be a slob. She picks up the clothes off his floor, and throws them into a fire she has started in her yard with the much-hated couch. Marlene comes over to ask what she’s doing, and she tells her to stop complaining since her burn pile is where her pool should be but isn’t since Marlene told the cops she didn’t have the necessary construction permits.

On the first weigh-in for their $100 per pound deal, Andrea has gained 2 pounds. Cathy says she should walk for exercise. While Andrea does take her advice to some extent, Cathy keeps catching her in the middle of walking to get junk food or slushies.

White Collar – Recap & Review – Prisoner’s Dilemma

Prisoner’s Dilemma

First things first: yay, Elizabeth Burke is back! Without a green screen! How awesome is that? You know what else is awesome? A great guest cast: Joe Morton as Hughes’ boss and The Unit’s Max Martini (fresh off last night’s Lie To Me) as a U.S. Marshal. (Unfortunately, Tim Olyphant is nowhere to be found.)

It’s a typical morning in the Burke household, even for a Saturday: Peter and Elizabeth hardly have time to talk to each other because they’re too consumed with their jobs. He realizes this is insane, and decides they’re having a date night that night.

It’s time for another episode of Lie To Me! Last week’s preview made this episode look very intense, and believe me, it didn’t disappoint. There is action, violence, intrigue and of course, a little humor. Emily and Cal are always funny and touching together. It’s a wonderful chemistry.

Let’s not waste any time and get to it!

Design Star– Recap & Review – Finale

Design Star
Finale

Original Air Date: Aug 22, 2010

Patricia Morris Buckley —Staff Writer

This show really got interesting just as it finished up. Well, better late than never, huh? The final two, Emily and Michael, had a great challenge — design a one bedroom studio in two days with a $15,000 budget.

And here’s the twist — they had a crew of the entire cast. That means that every contestant returned to help them out, and each finalist chose their team playground style.

Emily chose Dan first (he’s so helpful and a great builder, so Dan would have been my first choice as well) while Michael chose Courtland, his bud. Emily went on to choose Casey, Stacey, Tom and Alex (last). Michael selected Nina (admitting it was a risk), Trent, Tara and finally Julie (remember her, the first designer to be cut?).

Jennifer Aniston Reuniting with Courtney Cox on Cougar Town

friends mini reunion coming to cougar town

ABC has officially announced that former Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox will reunite once again when Aniston guest stars on the sitcom Cougar Town. Aniston will make her special appearance during the second season premiere on Sept. 22.

The show’s executive producer Bill Lawrence told EW’s Michael Ausiello that she will play the therapist of Courteney’s character Jules, who tends to get too involved in her life. Luckily, the nature of the character opens up the possibility that Aniston will make more guest appearances in the future.

Despite the fact that the show will not be changing its unfortunate title as previously rumored, Lawrence is hoping that Jennifer Aniston’s guest spot will attract more attention so viewers can see how the show has evolved from its original premise.

I’m just going to toss this out there: Truxton Spangler is a classic character. Rubicon has as of yet done a splendid job building him up. He’s too charismatic and interesting not to like, and while we don’t as of yet know exactly what kind of shady business he’s involved in, it certainly seems like the kind of stuff that will make him a compelling and ambiguous personality as the series progresses.

In other news this week, assassinations are planned, Tanya gets a chance to shine, and Katherine’s plot becomes mildly interesting.

True Blood – Recap & Review – I Smell A Rat

Oh the places we’ll go… and some of them highly unfriendly and weird! Someone gets kissed and likes it, someone makes a confession and doesn’t like it and a few other people do stupid things, naturally. Also: Pam gets real, Arlene gets the best guy in the whole entire flipping world and Russell dives head first into the rabbit hole.

While Sookie and Bill are talking about love to the camera and each other’s faces, things are getting very weird. Not season two weird, but weird nonetheless. I’ll sum up:

Have you ever found that when one of your friends begins a new career, project, or living arrangement that it dominoes into other friends trying to accomplish the same? That was the trend befalling our favorite beer-drinking, sports loving, intra-dating group this week.

Bobby has decided to embark on a new career since the Trib is downsizing (since 2008!). Will he be a doctor, a teacher, or a lawyer? Truthfully, I was surprised he didn’t add astronaut, cowboy, and President to his list. What was your initial reaction to Bobby’s desire to leave journalism?
