The Flintstones Celebrate 50th Anniversary on Boomerang

Boomerang, Cartoon Network’s 24-hour commercial-free classic animation network, will suspend its normal programming schedule later this month to mark the 50th Anniversary of prime time television’s first-ever animated series: THE FLINTSTONES.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, the network will present the first full episode of THE FLINTSTONES (1960-1966) ever enjoyed by viewing families—“The Flintstone Flyer”—at 8:30 p.m. (ET), 50 years exactly to the date and hour of the original series premiere in 1960 on ABC network television. This will be followed immediately by two additional landmark episodes, “The Hot Piano” (9 p.m.) and “The Blessed Event” (9:30 p.m.) and the Columbia Pictures animated feature film, The Man Called Flintstone (10 p.m.).

Then on Saturday, Oct. 2, Boomerang will launch a 24-hour marathon starting at 6 a.m. (ET) that will feature 50 of the greatest, most beloved episodes hand-selected by the Cartoon Network/Boomerang programmers. Additionally, CartoonNetwork.com will showcase a free online game, Bedrock Bowling, which challenges players to help Fred improve his game and earn a perfect score.

MyTwoCents – Chemistry

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about onscreen chemistry. Strange topic to spend time contemplating, but when you spend a lot of time watching TV, these things start to fill your brain even when you’re not glued to the tube.

I also have a confession to make. I’m a little bit obsessed with Supernatural. I watched the whole series this summer (then all the YouTube clips of gag reels and Comic Con) and then started again at the beginning. Scrumptious eye candy aside; I’m hooked on the bro-mance and onscreen chemistry of the lead actors Jensen Ackles (Dean) and Jared Padelecki (Sam).

“Do you believe in past lives?”
“No, I don’t.”
“In that case, would you like to meet me for the first time?”

Arguably one of the worst pick up lines of all time, agreed? But will it help Brendan find a grown-up woman who presumably won’t stab him in his sleep? Keep reading to find out!

Here we are, Leverage fans! It’s the episode TNT keeps calling the “season finale” – but which we know better as “the last episode before the hiatus after which there are three more.” Go figure. Oh, and Parker’s dead…but obviously, not really.

Mad Men – Recap & Review – The Suitcase

The Suitcase

With amazing precision, Mad Men has managed to prove exactly why it deserved to win best television drama last week at the Emmys. The show is truly at its best when we’re given character development, and today we saw that in full force with Don and Peggy.

The previouslies gave us Peggy in a fat suit after having had her baby, and immediately my mind went to: Finally! The Pete and Peggy confrontation scene we’ve all been waiting for! However…I think I’m about to be very disappointed. Let’s find out.

Project Runway Surpasses 4 Million Viewers!

photo: lifetime

With the new mix of intense personalities, and even a couple of new villains, it was no surprise to find this out.

On the heels of having what fans, bloggers and writers called its best episode ever on August 26th, Lifetime’s Project Runway broke records last night by surpassing four million Total Viewers (4,002,000) and two million Adults 25-54 viewers (2,160,000) – up double digits vs. the Season 8 to date average — making it the series’ most watched episode in the demos since its Season 6 finale on November 19, 2009. In its new, 90-minute format, half-hour impressions among Adults 25-54 grew throughout the entire episode last night, up from the first 30 minutes to the final half-hour (2,094,000 to 2,122,000 to 2,265,000), according to Nielsen Research.

Project Runway – Recap & Review – You Can Totally Wear That Again

Project Runway
You Can Totally Wear That Again

Original Air Date: Sep 2, 2010

Jake G., TwoCents Reporter

Welcome back fans of the Runway! When we last left, Gretchen took total control over her team, A.J. Was auf’d because of it. Michael C., however, got thrown under the bus by his teammates, who hoarded over him every step of the way. Will he retaliate? Read on to find out.

The Morning After
Michael C. has always been bashed by the other designers, however this time around he got to witness first hand when Team Gretchen, I mean Team Luxe, called him out for being the weakest link, basically saying he couldn’t construct his way out of a paper bag (though wasn’t it funny that the judges felt his pieces were the best of the bunch.) He feels bad of course, however there really isn’t time to dwell. The new challenge is at hand, and he realizes that he needs to design his little heart to show himself that he does belong there. Casanova, on the other hand, is still in a good mood from winning, and now feels the immunity can help him relax and create a really knockout outfit.

Psych – Recap & Review – Shawn 2.0

Shawn 2.0

Complacency is bad, as Henry tells preteen Shawn after ruthlessly beating him at shooting hoops. Apparently, “fair sportsmanship” didn’t figure much into Shawn’s childhood detective training.

Shawn is happy with complacency, though. Fast forward to his adult years, and we find him passed out drunk in the Psych offices, listening to a cheesy doctor vampire audio-book called Internity. At least he’s wearing pants.

MasterChef – Recap & Review – Top 9 Compete

Top 9 Compete

Original Air Date: Sep 1, 2010

JD – Staff Writer

This season seems to be flying! We are already down to nine competitors, and by the end of this episode, that nine drops to six. And I still don’t know who I want to win! Everyone I had an initial liking for has failed me, and every time a new person steps up their game, they keep falling right back down. Last night, two of the three people eliminated were people that at one point I thought had a chance at winning. And yet I can’t see any fault in the judges sending them home.

So again, we have three challenges, same format, and some surprising highs and lows, from Sheetal wrestling with her faith, to new rivalries forming, to Lee finally becoming a real competitor.

Dancing with the Stars Celebrity/Professional Dancer Matchups Announced!

will Anna take home the gold this season?

For information on the Spring 2011 cast (including professional pairings), click here!

I’m excited about this coming season of Dancing With The Stars! There are more people that I’ve actually heard of this season, unlike the last one, even if I may not actually be a fan of some of them.

For example I like Margaret Cho, whereas I’m not so much a fan of Micheal Bolton, but it’s guaranteed to be entertaining either way.

The match ups between the celebrities and professional dancers have just been announced. There are some similarities between this season and last season’s match ups, and one sad absence.
