Two Cents & Five Questions with Ryan Eggold (90210)

Ryan Eggold, Actor

Considering the fact that Mr. Matthews spent the bulk of last season either hilariously inebriated or making terrible romantic decisions (Lameness, thy name is Jen!), I wasn’t sure what to expect of his portrayer, Ryan Eggold. I’ve been known to give his character a bit of a hard time in my reviews, so I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I enjoyed chatting with him as much as I did. In anticipation of tonight’s season premiere, Ryan shared his thoughts on 90210’s upcoming season, his impending fictional fatherhood, and secret ninja aspirations.

The Two Cents: What is your favorite thing about playing the famed Mr. Matthews?

What’s Mine is Yours

Original Airdate: September 9 , 2010

Howdy Runway fans!!! If you’re like me, you’re still a little sad to have Peach gone. But as they say, the show must go on, and boy did it ever. On with the recap!

The Morning After

April is still upset about not having Peach as a roommate, and on top of that, must now move in with the rest of the girls. She’s worried because there has been some back talk, but once she’s in they welcome her with open arms. They even give themselves a cute little nickname the “fab four,” after they realize they are the only four women left.

It’s baaaaack! The second season of The Vampire Diaries didn’t so much start with a bang, as it did with a violent mutilation, near suicide, and a couple of murders. What happened tonight? Well, as Damon said “Katherine happened.”

Katherine, Elena’s delightfully evil vampire doppelganger, arrived in the last few minutes of last season’s finale. Tonight we pick up with Katherine chopping off Uncle Jon’s fingers and stabbing him in the gut. Wow. Girl really knows how to make an entrance.

Two Cents & Five Questions with Jimmy Smits and John Eisendrath (Outlaw)

smits

Jimmy Smits, Actor

John Eisendrath, Executive Producer

Most of you will probably recognize Jimmy Smits from either L.A. Law or NYPD Blue. Most recently, he has appeared as a lawyer on Dexter. He also has been successful on the Broadway stage. This fall, he is starring in and producing a new show called Outlaw. Outlaw is a show about Cyrus Garza; a womanizing, gambling Supreme Court justice, who realizes that the legal system is broken. So he steps down from the nation’s highest court and decides to try to fix the system himself; one case at a time. Recently, I had the chance to sit down and ask Jimmy and executive producer, John Eisendrath, five questions.

TheTwoCents: Jimmy, how did you go about researching this role? And were you able to talk to any of our sitting Justices?

Nikita – Recap & Review – Pilot

Nikita
Pilot

Original Air Date: Sep 9, 2010

What the heck is Nikita anyway?

Is it related to the original French film? The American remake? The Canadian TV series that gained a cult following?

It’s none of the above. It has more in common with Smallville or The Vampire Diaries than with La Femme Nikita. As much as it aspires to be a serious spy caper, it feels more like another of the CW’s high-gloss, youth-oriented, pop programming options, which wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t also trying to pretend that it’s anything but. It’s this schism that ultimately proves to be the thorn in its side.

Welcome to Cycle 15 of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM). This season, as Tyra puts it, is “Top Model Extreme”! They’ve raised the bar, at least with the prizes. This cycle’s winner gets a $100K contract with Covergirl, representation by IMG Models and the cover and two photo spreads in Italian Vogue. Takes the American right out of it, eh? Still an impressive haul.

But don’t worry. They definitely haven’t raised the bar on the talent and drama!

Last night, the top six became the top four heading into next week’s finale. They took on venison, vanilla, and three of the top food critics in America. We lost two very strong cooks last night, one of whom seemed to simply forget about a little thing called salmonella, and saw one that I didn’t expect in the final four shine. So how did your favorites do? Read on and see!
