Dancing with the Stars
Week 1 Elimination

Original Air Date: Sept 21, 2010

It’s the first elimination episode of the season and because apparently one hour isn’t long enough to torture us before eliminating a couple in the last 60 seconds, we get two hours. Doesn’t ABC have anything else to air?

Tonight’s first hour was dedicated to replaying every single dance from last night with nothing new to offer except a few backstage comments from the celebrities about their performance. Not exactly earth shattering. The second hour finally got to the results show. So, did the elimination fairy grant my wish? Read on to find out.

Castle – Recap & Review – A Deadly Affair

Castle
A Deadly Affair

Original Air Date: Sep 20, 2010

Summer may be over but the Heat is on! After a summer season apart Castle and Beckett are back at it trying to solve a triple homicide that takes some confounding turns. There is a surprising arrest, lots of gunfire, three dead bodies and one cold shoulder. Is the partnership through after a busy summer break or is it just beginning?

As the episode opens Castle finds himself reflected in a dozen funhouse mirrors, grasping a gun as bullets fly and glass shatters and explodes around him. He runs out of the dark into a city alley to find Beckett. She pulls a gun on him, he raises his and fires!

Oh and look- just what I thought might be next…the words 3 DAYS EARLIER.

Chuck – Recap & Review – Chuck Vs. The Anniversary

Chuck
Chuck Vs. The Anniversary

Original Air Date: Sep 20, 2010

Jeff L – Staff Writer
JeffL@thetwocentscorp.com

Welcome back, mother Chuckers. It’s been a long four months of hiatus without our friends from the Spy More. Please tell your friends to watch Chuck live as often as possible this season (Mondays, 8/7 central on NBC) because the Peacock Network still hasn’t picked up the option for the back nine episodes and our friends from Buymoria are living in fear of cancellation.

We open in Chuck’s bedroom circa 1984 where Chuck’s Tron poster looks a little less vintage. Sarah Conner Bartowski tells our young hero a bedtime story about the “frost queen.” At the end of the story, Chuck asks his mom if she’s going away again. She is, but like the frost queen in the story she promises to return. A promise we know she wasn’t able to keep. Flash forward to 2010, Chuck is in the underground Bartowski bunker going through his late father’s files — searching for info on his missing mom. Chuck confides in the one person he knows can help him in his secret mission: Morgan. Back at their apartment, Sarah is preparing for a mission to Russia with Casey. While she’s gone, Chuck and Morgan should have plenty of time (four months!?) to search for his mother. So while we didn’t get to see Chuck and Sarah over the summer, we can empathize because Chuck didn’t get to see Sarah for all that time either. Nothing much could possibly have happened in Buymoria in the meantime. We’ll see how wrong that statement is later on.

In 90210’s second outing of the season, Naomi gains her trust fund, but loses some friends, Oscar continues to pursue his creepy mother-daughter fantasy (Hey Oscar? Go watch Nip/Tuck. It’s been done), and Mr. Cannon moves in on his next target.

Naomi and the Benjamins

Naomi’s rich! Despite Evil Jen’s best efforts to convince the family lawyer to wait a few years, Naomi is now officially entitled to her trust fund. She proves that she is mature enough to handle this by immediately throwing the biggest birthday bash ever, plastering her face on invitations and swag bags (yup, we’re talking Naomi tattoos, Naomi cupcakes, etc…).

How I Met Your Mother – Recap & Review – Big Days

How I Met Your Mother
Big Days

Original Air Date: Sep 20, 2010

Faye O – Senior Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

The wait is over! How I Met Your Mother is finally back for its 6th season, and it started with a BANG! We got a glimpse back into the world of “the mother” as well as the chance to reconnect with the beloved characters, Ted, Robin, Marshall, Lily, and of course, Barney. If you missed the show during the summer as much as I did, you probably loved hearing Grown Up Ted’s voice say “kids…” and probably loved hearing the word “legendary.” The season 6 premiere episode did not disappoint.

The episode opens with Ted and Marshall drinking beer outside the church they were at for the wedding. We are painted a picture that this must be Ted’s wedding, since, let’s face it…this is what the show is all about.

The Event
I Haven’t Told You Everything

Original Air Date: Sep 20, 2010

Meg – Senior Reviewer
meg@thetwocentscorp.com

Welcome to The Event! In tonight’s pilot episode we’re introduced to Sean Walker, who is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. So is the president, who would be fine if it weren’t for the giant air jet barreling toward him at full speed. Elsewhere, we’ve got mystery detainees, shady beach bums, and a heck of a lot of questions. Let’s get to the recap and review!

First off, there is a LOT of time jumping in this episode (ie. Now: I’m drinking coffee. 23 minutes ago: I was asleep! 4 days ago: I had waffles. 3 minutes ago: I snored!). So to avoid confusion, I’m going to lay things out chronologically. Let me know in the comments if you like this approach.

The competition is back on for the coveted mirror ball trophy. Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars – the home of spray tans, lots of skin and of course, some dancing. Twelve celebrities will dance this season for the right to be called the champion. We’ve got reality stars, actors, athletes, singers and a daughter of someone famous (or as she was introduced “teen activist”).

Tonight’s dances were the Viennese Waltz and the Cha Cha. So how did everyone do? Well, the night started out good but…

New episodes are finally here and I know the timeline is packed with shows you want to watch, but I hope Rules is one of them. We come back with Jeff and Audrey picking their surrogate, Pam, and are very excited to start the family. But…and there is always a but…as Pam leaves the apartment and waits for the elevator, slimy Russ makes his move on the new chick he hasn’t slept with. Jeff comes out in the hall just as the elevator door closes with Russ giving him the “oh yea, this one is mine” look. Jeff freaks out, trying to keep it from Audrey.
