photo: fox

After weeks of wondering, FOX announced today the two people everyone assumed would be the new judges on American Idol.

Golden Globe-nominated actress, platinum-selling recording artist, movie producer and entrepreneur Jennifer Lopez and multiple Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steven Tyler, the frontman of Aerosmith – the best-selling American rock band of all time – have joined AMERICAN IDOL as judges.

Lopez and Tyler will join returning IDOL judge Randy Jackson for the 10th anniversary season, which premieres January 2011 on FOX.

Will Your DVR Record $#*! My Dad Says?

photo: cbs

CBS is worried about it! They wrote a letter to their viewers in anticipation of losing many in the DVR numbers.

Dear Valued Viewer,

We have a new show premiering this Thursday at 8:30 PM, ET/PT, called $#*! MY DAD SAYS. It’s a unique title for a unique show based on a very popular Twitter feed. In fact, the title of the show is so sophisticated that it’s perplexing some DVR search functions that can’t read some symbols.

Obviously, our first choice is that you always watch everything on CBS live; however, we also consider the DVR our friend, providing more opportunities for you to watch our programs amidst your very busy lives.

NCIS LA returns for its second season with a double hitter and I can already tell why this season is going to be better than the last. Two words: Marty Deeks.

Human Traffic

We return to see G crouching over Hannah Lawson’s grave before giving chase to someone who apparently shops at the same Walmart G does. Naturally a chase ensues and the double seems to be auditioning for the role of Spiderman as he jumps, rolls and flips off balconies and escalators. When G finally manages to catch up with him, it turns out to be a dream. A recurring one according to Hetty. Nate thinks it relates to G’s unresolved identity issues.

Understatement of the century.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a man of rules and he has a lot of them. They deal with everything from “Always carry a knife” to “never date a co-worker.” Then there’s the unspoken rule, “Do what you have to for family.” And when some one goes after his family and team, you better believe that Gibbs will do what he has to for the people he loves.

WARNING: ADULT CONTENT

I’ll start out by saying that there’s a reason “The Big C” is on cable…

Cathy’s out shopping at the flower market. When a woman tries to cut in line because she’s “running a little short on time”, Cathy throws her purchases on the counter and says she’s running a little short on time, too, since she has cancer and needs to plant her irises before she dies.

This show has largely slipped under the radar compared to some more highly or critically anticipated series. Still, the reviews that have come so far seem to be positive.

I’ll admit that I’m not the typical audience for a show like this (I blame cancellations last season for the fact I’m now reviewing two crime dramas), but I live about an hour outside of Detroit, and am excited about what this has to offer.

House – Recap & Review – Now What

House
Now What

Original Air date: Sept 20, 2010

Shannon – Associate Editor
shannon@thetwocentscorp.com

Hey guys! Welcome to season 6! It’s the much-anticipated House-Cuddy hookup! Just as a refresher, remember we left House having just lost a patient after a building collapse and almost dying himself. He came home to find his hidden stash of Vicodin when Cuddy showed up and talked him down.

We open on House and Cuddy right where we left off last season. They’re in House’s bedroom and she looks over his neck wound. Cuddy helps him remove his shirt and then she swabs him with a damp cloth. She wipes the ash and dirt off his face and then she helps him off with his pants. Hey now.
