It’s the one with the baby. Which means it was equal parts funny and kind of messy (emotionally that is). This review is going to be about the plot, and then about the characters themselves. So first up, plot.

Sam’s hunting down a lead solo in Michigan while Gramps is back at the safe house trying to figure out modern technology. Four families have been slaughtered, the babies taken, and Sam discovers that all the houses have had their alarms installed by the same security company. Gramps and him deduce who the next target is and Sam expertly picks the lock to discover that the parents are dead. Someone lunges out at him and he strikes with a silver knife, which causes the intruder’s flesh to sizzle. Shape shifter. Sam lets Shifty get away and discovers a baby in the kitchen.

Private Practice – Recap & Review – Short Cuts

Violet and Pete are married. Did ya catch that? It was quick and Violet’s freakout lasted all but three seconds and – gasp – Cooper was NOT the one that calmed her down. I’m pretty sure that is something that will come up often. Cooper and Violet have been BFFLs since day one and now there’s a wrinkle in that. Or is there?

This week, relationships will be the theme. There are so many different relationships going on right now: Pete/Violet, Violet/Cooper, Cooper/Charlotte, Charlotte/Sheldon, Naomi/Sam, Sam/Addison and people with themselves. And in typical Private Practice fashion, the medical cases will bring frenemies together and make them put their differences aside as well look deep inside themselves.

Welcome back to another fun week at Mid American Novelties! The show did great last week and I hope it’s numbers stay up, because I know at least three other people who like the show, so I know I’m not alone. The workplace comedy lineup from 30 Rock through Outsourced is great. No matter which show is your favorite, we’ve all worked with somebody like Tracy Jordan, Dwight Schrute or Gupta. It’s relatable and it’s funny.

What more could you ask for?

Two Cents and Five Questions with Allie (Biggest Loser)

Allie

Allie, Reality Contestant

It’s never fun to be the first person eliminated from any reality show, but Allie suffered that fate on this week’s episode of The Biggest Loser. Even though she left the campus early, she learned enough to lose a total of 60 pounds at home. She hopes to be a size 8 by the time of the finale, but says that it’s how she feels that matters. I got to speak with Allie about her time on the ranch and her struggles at home.

The Two Cents: What was your biggest surprise when you got to the campus from seeing – between seeing the show on TV and experiencing it? What weren’t you expecting that really surprised you?

Well Runway Fans, here we are for another week of the fabulous that is Project Runway! I know that waiting to put my twocents at the end is what a recapper usually does, but I’m going to go out on a limb and call this one of the best, most dramatic episodes in the history of the show. Please read on to find out why.

Sheldon is dying. Ok ok, not right now, but the question is when? By his calculations based on hereditary causes of death in his family – and one murder-by-badger – he estimates he has just 60 years left. This means that he will miss the singularity, when humans will be able to transfer their consciousness into robots, by just a few years. He will also miss out on creating the dogapus, “man’s underwater best friend.”

My Generation Second TV Casualty Of Fall Season

photo: abc

Despite pulling in over 5 million viewers in its first episode and nearly 4 million for its second episode, ABC has canceled its drama My Generation, the story of nine kids from the Class of 2000 who are being revisited 10 years later to see what they’ve been up to.

The viewership in the demographics is what seems to be the reason for the cancellation, since it beat out the CW’s very popular The Vampire Diaries.

MyTwoCents: As a member of the Class of 2000, I really enjoyed this show. There was so much pressure for us to succeed (we had to survive Y2K to begin with!), much like this show. A lot of the situations in the show were easy to relate to (although I definitely don’t have a camera crew following me around seeing what I’m up to these days), but my 10 year reunion is actually this weekend. Weird timing.

I think it’s sad shows are only getting one or two episodes to grab an audience. I’m hoping a few of these shows get picked up by other networks. This show would be great on ABC Family for instance. Lonestar, well that has TNT written all over it.

Thoughts? Leave your two cents below!

Fringe – Recap & Review – The Box

Fringe
The Box

Original Air Date: Sep 30, 2010

Rachel – Sr. Managing Editor
rachel@thetwocentscorp.com

You know things are not going to turn out well when several people are duck-taped up in a living room and some guy is digging a pick-axe out of a duffle bag. Plus, we are talking Fringe here. Three hired criminals have been hired to dig a mysterious box out from under the foundation of a perfectly normal suburban home. With a little home-invasion and a lot of digging, they find the box and, curiosity killing cats and all, they open it. Bloody noses and clouded eyes later, there is only one person that makes it out of the house alive… with the box that strangely doesn’t affect him.

Peter, busy pouring over the blueprints for Walternates’s doomsday device, bounces back and forth theories as to how it works. Broyles thinks Peter should try to figure it all out, Walter thinks he shouldn’t. Fauxlivia sides with Broyles. Fringe Division is called to the crime scene, where they throw around some speculations and wonder about the missing “buried treasure.”
