Marlene is helping Cathy heal from her lump removal. Cathy says she’s good at taking care of her, and Marlene says she’s used to it since she took care of her husband and her youngest daughter after their surgeries. Cathy said she didn’t know Marlene had children, and she says that they both call once a week, and that’s about all she sees of them.

Cathy feels sorry for Marlene, but is told not to since her life isn’t any better, as she left her husband, her son hates her, and her brother is homeless. I love her one-liners!

Dancing with the Stars
Week 3

Original Air Date: Oct 4, 2010

Annette: Associate Staff Writer

It’s story night! Every dance will have to tell a story and props are actually encouraged. I hope Len can stand it!

I’m changing up my review just a little bit. Normally I list the performances in the order in which they appear. Instead, I’m going to list the performances from highest to lowest score. This will help know who’s at the top (someone new this week!) and who’s on the bottom.

A “Huge” Disappoinment

the heart of huge

I am incredibly saddened to announce that ABC Family has decided to not renew Huge for another season. This is the polite way of saying that the show was canceled. I really enjoyed sharing my experiences of my own time at summer weight loss camp and reviewing the episodes for all of you. I think it was a great show and I will sincerely miss it.

I wish the cast and crew the best of luck and I hope we see them all again. Will, Becca, Ian, Alistair, Amber, Chloe, Piz, Trent, Carter, George, Poppy, Shay, Dr. Rand and Salty, I will miss you dearly!! Hail to thee, Camp Victory!

This week’s patient is author Alice Tanner. She writes Boy Detective books on an old school typewriter at breakneck speed. She finishes her manuscript and argues with her son when she says that was her last book. Then she pulls a pistol out of her desk drawer and tries to kill herself. Before she can do that she has a seizure and grazes herself with the bullet.  The housekeeper comes running in to find Alice unconscious.  The interesting thing is that the son collapses at the same time as his mom.  Hmm…interesting.

Rules of Engagement
Rug of War

Original Air Date: Oct 4, 2010

Karen – Sr Staff Writer
Karen@thetwocents.com

Yes, as the title entails, there is an argument over getting a new rug in Jeff and Audrey’s apt. and to make the neighbors suffer, Jeff sabotages the old rug that Audrey gave Adam and Jenn, by telling them that they had sex on it … many times. Now Adam doesn’t even want to stand on it. Believe it or not I want these neighbors to be my neighbors. Weird, huh?

Mike and Molly – Recap & Review – Bowling Lesson

Mike’s lost a little weight, using portion control. His order at the diner is too funny, “just a whisper” of milk. He’s thinking about asking Molly out for a second date, bowling, which is Mike’s forte. He makes the grave mistake of thinking that Molly’s life is a little boring.

Cut to Molly and her mom trying to talk the crazy sister down from cutting off all her hair and sending it to her boyfriends wife. And at this point I look up the sisters name because I have a feeling I’m going to need it (PS it’s Victoria).

Dexter – Recap & Review – Hello Bandit

Dexter
Hello Bandit

Original Air Date: Oct 3, 2010

Karen Belgrad – Associate Staff Writer

Welcome back to week two of season five our favorite television serial killer. What a curious title to give to Dexter though. Have there been other favorite television serial killers? Sure, someone may be fascinated with Freddie Krueger, Jason Voorhees, or Michael Myers, but is Dexter the first weekly television killer?

This week’s Dexter opens with our lead character swimming, while thinking/voice-overing about the seven stages of grief. He thinks that last week’s brutal, yet gut wrenching bathroom slaying was his way of dealing with the anger stage. But he asks himself, and the viewers at large, will he have time to deal with the other six stages while being a full time dad?

Hector – Jr. Reporter

This week, we see how some of characters attempt to build walls around themselves to compartmentalize different aspects of their lives only to see them come crumbling down as the professional intersects with the personal.

We also see the fallout from SCDP losing the Lucky Strike account and the destruction that comes with it, even amid a few happy events.

Brothers and Sisters – Recap & Review – Brief Encounter

Brothers and Sisters
Brief Encounter

Original Air Date: Oct 3, 2010

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

Last week was our season premiere which let us know what happened in the last year since the accident (and quickly wrapped up one lingering storyline). Justin went back to war instead of Haiti so Rebecca left him, Holly was left without a memory, Robert died, Scotty and Saul opened their restaurant, Kevin is a jaded, angry man since he and Scotty haven’t been able to have a child, Saul has a man in his life, Nora has a job, Luc has stayed around and Sarah is happy as a clam as she prepares to sell Narrow Lake. Tommy? Well they pretend he doesn’t exist since Balthazar Getty did not return to the show.

This week Luc has a big launch party for the ginormous underwear ad he’s in and the whole family is going. And when there’s a party with the Walkers there’s drama. OOHH, this is gonna be fun.

Boardwalk Empire – Recap & Review – Broadway Limited

Sara M. – Sr. Reviewer

It’s difficult to manage a political image when you’re also trying to build an illegal empire. But Nucky is certainly getting by. While worrying about an upcoming election, he is also dealing with reassigning Mickey’s distillery business, a lone survivor of the whiskey massacre, helping Margaret, and an overwhelming disappointment in Jimmy. Life in the illegal realm is difficult, but Nucky is willing to overcome. The benefits out weigh the risks… right?
