I read spoilers. I don’t care if it ruins things, but sometimes I just need to know what’s coming my way. Sometimes things are inaccurate but there are some sites that interview the stars and are dead on (E! Online, I’m looking at you.).
So when I heard there was a religion episode heading our way on Glee, I kinda went huh? But it made sense when Ryan Murphy said: “I like that on the show we represent every side of the story. Some of the people have problems with [faith], Kurt and Finn specifically because they think, ‘If God is kind and just, why am I not feeling it?’ My point of view is that God is everybody’s collective goodness. And I like that if nothing else, this launches a conversation. I like that there are all these different points of view on it.”
In my personal life, I knew I was going to be a wreck watching this episode. But I’m glad the episode happened when it did. I had been questioning faith and religion and the man upstairs. This episode made me feel comfortable in not knowing what’s out there. Granted, I don’t burst out in song to figure it out, but it resonated with me deep in my soul. And made me really want a grilled cheese.
