If you didn’t know (or have been living under a rock for several years), Private Practice is a spinoff from Grey’s Anatomy. Last week, Amelia (Derek’s sister) was given a plane ticket by Addison (Derek’s ex-wife) to go make amends with her brother. And if you haven’t watched this week’s Grey‘s, then don’t read what I’m about to tell you. I wasn’t sure what to expect with that plane ticket, but in the last minutes of Grey‘s, Amelia ruins my favorite non-couple on the show by sleeping with Mark and returns to LA with a cheesy smile on her face. With her brother’s ultimate rejection, she needed some comfort. She got it and moved on.

But when she gets in the elevator back at Pacific Welcare/Oceanside Wellness/Unknown Name of Future Combined Practice, her company isn’t exactly pleasant. It’s the man who killed Dell. At least they gave me someone to hate more than Amelia for a brief time.

This week everyone’s favorite study group tackles some pretty serious issues: religion, mortality, loss, and… oil wrestling? Is it just me or was this a theme-week in TV-land. Glee, Modern Family, and then Community all had episodes dealing with faith and religion. I’ll give the award to Community, though, for managing to balance the Big Issues with grace and, of course, humor.

Cristina is still dealing with her PTSD, which is not really surprising because what she had to do was incredibly difficult and stressful so it really is no surprise that she is having a hard time.

She’s afraid to be alone, so one night when Owen is working she pays her fellow dark and twisty friend a visit. Meredith invites her to sleep in her bed, Cristina declines at first because it is weird since Derek is sleeping in the same bed. Meredith tells her that he’s asleep and doesn’t mind.

Yet again The Vampire Diaries proves it isn’t afraid to break with tradition or spill some secrets. With “Kill Or Be Killed,” the show deftly sidesteps some clichés and hands us an episode of fun, twisty reveals. In tonight’s installment, Mason teams up with Sheriff Liz to take down the Salvatores, while Caroline struggles to keep her vampirism a secret from her mother. Unfortunately, Hallmark has yet to mass produce the “Hey mom, I’m a vampire!” surprise card.

Meanwhile, Tyler tries not to murder anyone. It turns out that’s harder than you’d think. Read on for the full recap and review!

A tattooed lady washed up on a bank of the Sacremento River, found by a jogger. Track marks between her toes indicate a shady past (discovered by Jane — manicure, but no pedicure), but before we can even fully comprehend that we’re jumping plotlines. The FBI agent on Kristina Frye’s missing persons case calls Jane because they have a lead. A call with Kristina’s voice was traced to a house, but by the time they got there they were gone. All that was left was a doll under a cot on the floor, with Red John’s signature smile painted on the wall.

The agent in charge doesn’t want to hand over the case despite Lisbon’s insistence, and to her surprise, Jane agrees. When Lisbon asks him why, his answer is chillingly concise: Red John let Kristina make a call that could be traced. Red John is playing a game.

The Office – Recap & Review – Andy’s Play

The Office
Andy’s Play

This week in the cold open, Andy and the cast of his community theatre play break into the office singing a song from their show, Sweeney Todd. It gets mixed reviews from the staff but I actually thought it was pretty good. Oh, and Michael auditioned for that show and didn’t get a callback. Oops.

Andy gives Erin two tickets to the show but she only needs one since Gabe can’t come to the show because he’s sick. Andy wants everyone to come the show but Jim and Pam’s sitter backed out and last time Dwight went to a show a man dressed as a cat sat on his lap. Andy really wants Erin to come to the show because he has plans to make her fall in love with him by singing show tunes. Because what woman or man for that matter, can resist a man singing show tunes?
