Chuck Vs. The Coup d’État

Could the ring (note the purposeful lack of capitalization) be the downfall of Chuck and Sarah? I’m still holding out for suggestions on the “Benifer” style nickname for our favorite spy couple. Sheldon and Amy have “Shamey.” I think Chuck and Sarah need one. (Shuck? Chara?)

Anyway, last week’s faux proposal begins this week’s episode. The couple laughs off the embarrassing moment and agrees to move forward at their own pace. Of course, Chuck is on a totally different wavelength having just joined the serious spy world. He’s thinking the traditional picket fence type future while Sarah, having basically grown up in the spy world, clearly is not.

How I Met Your Mother – Recap & Review – Subway Wars

How I Met Your Mother
Subway Wars

Original Air Date: Oct 11, 2010

Faye O – Senior Reviewer
faye@thetwocentscorp.com

This episode of How I Met Your Mother was by far my favorite episode in a long while. I caught myself laughing quite loudly, out loud during it. The gang had wonderful comedic timing this episode, and the storyline was captivating and entertaining. Let’s jump right in.

Woody Allen was at a local restaurant and Robin wanted to go see him, since she had yet to run into him in New York. Everyone else told her that the fact that she’d never seen him; she wasn’t a real New Yorker. She tried to dispute this, but the group told her that she’s not a true New Yorker until she stole a cab from someone, cried on the subway without caring what anyone thought, and until she killed a cockroach with her bare hands.

Previously on The Event, the dead rose! No, really. We closed out last week with the throng of dead airplane passengers coming back to life (much to the slightly hilarious terror of the poor sap in charge of guarding the non-corpses).

Tonight, our surprise zombies adjust to quarantine (it doesn’t go well), while Sean and Agent Sassy road trip to Texas and Laila gets played. Read on for the full recap and review!

If the denizens of West Bev stopped keeping secrets from each other, the episodes would be over at the ten minute marker. Tonight, practically everyone lies for stupid reasons—Dixon lies to Ivy, Oscar lies to Ivy (not a good week for Ivy), and Teddy lies to himself. And Evil Jen has a baby. Yes, people, the she-beast has spawned. Elsewhere, we learn a very valuable lesson: you don’t need to go to college, as long as you’re sassy!

Tonight had a lot of terribly predictable storylines that we’ve all seen before—terrible woman heartened by Miracle of Childbirth; dejected gal turns to creepazoid schemer for comfort; and so on. However, I have to give the show props for one twist I wasn’t expecting. Read on and find out – make sure to leave your two cents on the episode!

Rules Of Engagement – Recap & Review – Handy Man

Handy Man

Karen – Sr Staff Writer

Jeff steals the show in this episode and I must say it is a little difficult to put into words what it is all about. I will try the best I can. Audrey is getting ready to go out with some of the girls and Jeff is in a bit of a ‘randy’ mood. He pretty much asks her if she wants to “get it on” in which she responds unturned on by his ways and leaves.

As she goes downstairs and gets off the elevator, her heel breaks and she heads back to the apt. She decides not to go out and takes Jeff up on the sexual offer…but it is too late. He took care of it himself…if you know what I mean.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 4

Dancing with the Stars
Week 4

Original Air Date: Oct 11, 2010

Annette: Associate Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

There was a lot going on this week. First, the stage was set up in the round and raised three feet of the ground. It was also double score night. Dancers received a technical score as well as a performance score. Lastly, all the music was acoustic which had the potential to throw off the dancers.

With all that going on, it’s Latin night, so the dances were either the Rumba or the Argentine Tango. So, with all the changes to the set and music, were the celebrities able to bring the sexy to the dance floor? Read on to find out who was hot and who was not (and who got to see the 10 paddles!).

Cathy gets herself a wedding cake for her birthday, and takes it over to Marlene’s to eat. She’s having trouble trying to decide what to do to celebrate what could be her last birthday.

Lenny comes to Cathy’s classroom to tell her “Happy Birthday” and gives her a scarf as a present. He invites her to the Bahamas for a weekend trip and she says she’d love to go, as she hasn’t traveled enough.

House – Recap & Review – Massage Therapy

A girl is lying on her sofa on a rainy night watching TV when she hears a noise. She goes to the front door which is standing open, she walks outside to investigate then locks herself in the big dark creepy house. Oh girl, haven’t you seen a horror movie before? She calls her husband, Billy, who assures her it’s probably nothing. Then she hears a noise upstairs so she grabs a big heavy candlestick and heads up there. Ooh, girl, don’t go upstairs. The noise is coming from some squeaky mini-blinds and then there’s a bang downstairs and she takes off running down there. It’s just her husband coming in and then she proceeds to puke all over him and complain about her stomach. Wow, that’s a nice hello. How’ve you’ve been and here have some vomit.

House wakes up in bed alone which is new for him. Aw, he looks so happy. Also, Chase has hired a new doctor named Kelly. House thinks Chase hired her because she looks like Cameron, which, yeah, she kind of does. House puts her on the spot to diagnose their patient and she fails. Uh oh.

Hawaii Five-0

Cue the music and the sweeping vistas of Hawaii. Which takes a turn for the worse when we cut to a prison break. Kind of a brilliantly planned prison break, but the good guys end up dead and the bad guy gets away.

In a different level of hell, McGarrett is waiting at baggage claim. Turns out his sister, Mary Ann (played by Taryn Manning, who by the way, what happened to her?) has been arrested for disabling a smoke alarm on an airplane. He bails her out, and the bitterness flows between them.

Mike and Molly, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g! On her front porch, and she’s inviting him in, but he insists on going home. To which the adorable Melissa McCarthy sniffs her armpit. Well that just won me over in a BIG way.

At the diner, Samuel continues his ribbing of Mike, which is clearly bothering him. Turns out their date last night was the infamous third date! Know what that means?
