I HATE fire episodes. Hate them. That has got to be the worst way to die and it’s one of my biggest fears, just a notch above suffocation. I got to be honest, I had my hands up, ready to cover my eyes, all during the opening sequence. And really, half the time we have fire episodes, I have a hard time focusing on them because of that fear. Each week I usually rewatch the episodes again before I do my review, but I really didn’t want to this time. But truthfully, it was as much because the episode was lacking as it was from fear, though.

In spite of it freaking me out, the case wasn’t all that solid. It didn’t scare me in the “wow, that was a creepy episode/unsub” way, just in an “it would suck to be burned alive” way, which isn’t how it’s supposed to work. There were a lot of holes in the plot too, and a pretty hokey ending. But let’s get to the recap and review.

Farewell… James MacArthur

…James MacArthur, Actor

Yes, he was the original “Danno”, but he’ll always be the cool older brother in Swiss Family Robinson to me.

From The Hollywood Reporter: James MacArthur, the son of actress Helen Hayes who spent 11 years booking bad guys as Det. “Danno” Williams on the original “Hawaii Five-O,” died Oct. 26. He was 72. No place or cause of death was immediately known.

In 1967, producer Leonard Freeman remembered an actor who did a cameo in the Clint Eastwood movie “Hang ‘Em High” as the traveling preacher who came on the set and required just one take. He called the boyish MacArthur and cast him as Det. Williams opposite Jack Lord on CBS’ “Hawaii Five-O.”

It’s Halloween time on the cul de sac which apparently is a big deal. But a few things are going to make it a weird celebration: Travis is off at college and Jules’ father is coming to visit. Apparently Travis being off at college has made him think Halloween isn’t fun and with Jules’ dad coming to visit, it is going to put a damper on the holiday because he never likes any of her boyfriends (or she likes him to hate them so they can spend time together).

Also, she speaks with a southern accent when he comes to town. Ya’ll catch that? (By the way, as a side note, I hate Halloween and people dressed in costume, so this was scary for me to watch at the beginning, but luckily, their costumes weren’t that bad..)

Survivor – Recap & Review – What Goes Around, Comes Around

The low down: Kind of an interesting episode with some odd things going on. The person you expect to go home does go home but not for the reason you expect. Naonka starts cranking up the crazy again.

Most importantly, Marty does something big. I’m not sure if it’s dumb, only time will tell I guess.

Pre-credits: Naonka does more crazy and talks about getting Alina out next. You kind of get the feeling she doesn’t stop with the crazy but the show only shows us the relevant crazy. So, when she rants about how the sand on the beach is dirty and gritty, the show spares us that. Thanks, show.
