Dean Pelton wants the study group help him recruit a new student, a rich idiot named Archie. Apparently, Pierce is their other whale so he can never know this is happening. This is better than the Let’s potato chip endorsement. “Keep Your Damn Hands Off My Let’s!”™

Pierce has been hounding Jeff to hang out with him so Jeff is all over the whale plan since Pierce won’t be a part of it. The tour the Dean has put together a pretty lame tour and the school board liasons let him know it. The’d prefer to hire strippers and Shaun White because they really want to catch this whale. Abed decides to start a fraternity, one the Dean can’t shut down. So…Animal House?

American Idol
Beatles Night Results

If you ever doubted that American Idol wants a female to win, this show proved it without a doubt. The producers or voters (whoever you think is making the decision on which contestant should go) have made sure the winner will at least be different from the last five years. More on that later.

Probably the most interesting part of the show had to be the beginning where Jimmy Iovine gave his two cents about the contestants – and the judges. He didn’t even try to be diplomatic. He said the judges “coddled” the singers and were too easy on bad performances. Here’s a sample of what he said:

Grey’s Anatomy
Idle Hands

Original Air Date: Mar 21, 2013

For an episode that talked about idle hands, there was little downtime tonight. Sure, there was waiting to use a big new toy, but there was also tears, pranks, surgery, a little shoving, and… finally… some sexy time for a couple that has gone too long without.

My favorite episodes of Grey’s always seem to combine the laughter with the tears and this hour didn’t disappoint. After the weeks of conversations about the future of the hospital, tonight we got to see unveiling of Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital and how it will take the show into the future of technology and medicine.

Bleed Out

Wednesday nights on TNT are currently one of my favorite blocks of television. With Boston’s Finest leading in to SouthLAnd, I can’t ask for anything better. Well, really I could – another season of SouthLAnd. Or a longer season. But we can’t always get what we want, right?

This week deals with the personal issues of our cops like we haven’t really seen before, especially Lydia and Cooper.

“John Cooper has learned on the streets of Los Angeles, a single step can separate life from death.”

Opening scene: Cooper and Lucero are yelling for a man to come out in the backyard of a house. He’s covered in blood and there is a dog barking. The man keeps going towards them and away from them.

Law & Order: SVU
Undercover Blue

Original Air Date: Mar 20, 2013

Typically, shows will wait until at least partway through the episode to get their big “shocker” moments in the plot. SVU, however, has other ideas. Within five minutes, a woman is accusing our old friend Brian Cassidy of rape.

That’s not all, though. Nick and Munch go to talk to Cassidy, who is about to testify against the mob boss he was working undercover for. They soon see that he has a woman over. That’s not particularly interesting- until we see the woman is Olivia.

TNT is going to ramp up the drama this summer with a spectacular lineup of original series, including four brand new shows and five returning favorites. The Huntress (Helena) is back and she is leaving bodies behind her as she hunts down daddy, determined to kill him. She bamboozles Ollie into helping her, which I had a very hard time believing throughout this episode and will elaborate more on it later.

On a side story: Laurel has a surprise for her dad as we finally get to meet mommy. Thea is still trying to get her purse snatching thief to come over to the good side.

It looks as though America is not going to forgive Charlie Askew for that one bad performance. He clearly out sang Aubrey Cleland last week in the competition for what they’re calling the Fan Save, which snags the winner a spot on the Idol Tour. And Aubrey got the spot.

The singers couldn’t have asked for a better choice of songs than the Beatles catalog. Surprisingly, several didn’t know the songs they chose. I understand they’re young, but any serious musicians should know two of the biggest songwriters of all time.
