This is it. Their last week on the Biggest Loser ranch. There will indeed be a double elimination, so by the time tonight is over, we will have our final four. It must be so hard to come this far and get eliminated two weeks before the finale. At least they have the $100,000 at-home prize.

Ali wastes no time telling them that there will be both a yellow and a red line at this week’s weigh-in. I’m still hoping Brendan or Frado will somehow get voted off. Hey, a girl can dream!

I wish I could get more people to watch this show. I’m trying to resign myself to its cancellation, but after last night, I feel more than ever that is deserves to survive. Between the cases and Fitch’s character developments, it was the best episode yet.

The main case has to do with a young boy accidently killed in a drive-by shooting. Obviously, it brings out a lot of emotions, and the second case seems less important- until a development connects the two.

FX Sets Lights Out and Archer Premiere Dates

photo: fx

In January, FX will launch one new original drama series and one returning comedy series. The newest contender in FX’s stable of dramas, Lights Out, will make its debut on Tuesday, January 11 at 10 PM ET/PT. Later that month, the network will roll out the second season of its critically acclaimed animated comedy Archer on Thursday,
January 27 at 10 PM ET/PT.

Lights Out, from Executive Producer/Showrunner Warren Leight (In Treatment, Law & Order Criminal Intent), stars Holt McCallany (CSI: Miami) as “Patrick ‘Lights’ Leary,” an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after retiring from the ring. The financial downturn coupled with a series of failed investments leave him at a perilous crossroads – battling the urge to return to boxing or reluctantly accepting a job as a brutal and intimidating debt collector. Catherine McCormack (Braveheart) co-stars as “Theresa Leary,” Lights’ wife who
is finishing her medical residency; Pablo Schreiber (The Wire) as “Johnny Leary,” Lights’ brother and business manager; and Stacy Keach (Fat City) as “Robert ‘Pops’ Leary,” Lights’ father and former trainer who runs the boxing gym owned by Lights.

There are two plots this week and they don’t intersect much. I’ll try to be brief, which might be a nice change. The main plot involves Jim and Stephanie working together to fight an arsonist.

The B plot involves JJ and Daphne working together to beat some dillholes at poker.

Dear TV Claus…

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Celebrating the first day of Hanukkah, Farrah is writing to TV Claus’ brother…

Dear TV Harry Hanukkah,

While my friends are writing to TV Claus, I’m writing to you. With Hanukkah coming early this year, I’m hoping you’ll bring me some presents earlier than my Christmas-celebrating friends. I’ve been pretty good this year so I’m hoping you’ll send me at least one of these presents.

1. Please stop canceling new shows so quickly. My Generation was a great show and didn’t deserve only two episodes. What if we only waited two days for the oil to last back in the day? Then I’d have nothing to celebrate. Seriously.

2. Can you call Ryan Murphy over at Glee and tell him he needs to find his roots again? Last year I wished for Glee to never end and now, well, it’s too much. Ryan needs to remember what that show is about. Maybe he needs a latke or two?

3. How about having a conversation with some of the TV guys up there that seem to be airing episodes out of order. It’s pretty confusing and I don’t like it.

4. Thanks for the early present by giving us Mayim Bialik. Much appreciated.

5. Bring. Back. My Boys!

Thanks for all you do and enjoy your jelly doughnuts,
– Farrah 🙂

Sons of Anarchy – Recap & Review – NS (Season Finale)

Lyssa G – TwoCents Reviewer

The end of this season has come too fast. After all of the intense things that happened last season in comparison this went quite slow. But we still had some amazing Jax moments, some very cool/funny Tig moments, and Gemma proves to be an amazing mother once again.

This week starts out with Tara and Jax in bed just showing the true compassion that the two of them have for each other. We see Clay and Gemma with the “Charming Life” playing in the background. We see Abel and how he is loved by everyone in the club and we see the hat finally back on Abel, just lending the thought that Abel will follow in his father’s footsteps. We see that Opie and Lyla are getting married… Honestly this scene had a ton of CHEESE but it was great.

Sadly for fans of this show, Running Wilde has not been picked up by Fox. There are a handful episodes left to air after this one. Fox will be airing them on Tuesdays or Sundays, so keep your eyes open and your DVR scheduled to catch the remaining episodes.

Tonight’s episode continued the overall theme of Emmy trying to make Steve into a better man. Or is Steve trying to bring Emmy around to his way of thinking? With so few episodes remaining, we may never know.

Raising Hope – Recap & Review – Burt Rocks

Raising Hope

Rachel M – Associate Staff Writer
rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

Jimmy and Sabrina’s neurotic boss at the grocery store is all atwitter over an annual event and choosing the entertainment. There’s a catalog of novelty acts and everything! I so want that catalog!

At home, Virginia and Burt can hear over the baby monitor that Jimmy is getting depressed. This is bad news because he makes this awful face when he’s trying not to cry. Jimmy is just exhausted (and bored) with Hope. Burt has to talk to him (it’s his turn), and so they try to have a heart to heart.
