They say pride comes before a fall. Apparently so do elves. Who knew? Well it may be a hot and sunny holiday in West Bev, it is most certainly flu season in Megville. So I hope you’ll forgive the slight posting delay and any delirious ravings. For an episode ostensibly meant to invoke the warm and fuzzies of the holiday season, this sure had a lot of infidelity and deceit, didn’t it?

Karen – Sr Staff Writer

Three storylines happening this week and I am sorry to say…none of them had me really stoked. Timmy tries and I mean TRIES to teach Russ how to budget his money. Jeff gives Adam some advice on how to tell Jen to stop cracking her knuckles. And Audrey runs into a woman she is competitive with, and agrees to mentor a young girl at the magazine place…she no longer works at.

The Walking Dead Shuffles into the History Books

photo: amc

Sunday night’s finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead attracted four million viewers in the Adult 18-49 demo. With a series average of 3.5 million Adults 18-49, The Walking Dead is the most watched drama series in basic cable history for the demo. The finale was the most-watched episode of the season, attracting six million total viewers and ranking first for Adults 18-49 delivery among basic cable for a drama series.

Recently greenlit for a second season, The Walking Dead is AMC’s first wholly-owned production. Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead tells the story of the months and years that follow after a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.

Dear TV Claus…

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

As I’m sure you know, between college and an increasingly intense job search, I’ve been very busy these past few months. Add to that the fact I live in an area without much to do, and TV is really my only escape! I’ve done my best to be good this year, so could I ask for a few favors in return?

1. Find the secondary actors from The New Adventures of Old Christine good jobs. Julia, too, of course, but it should be easy for her. The rest of the cast often went unrecognized – it’s time they get the attention they deserve.

2. Bring Neil Patrick Harris back to guest on Glee. Or on anything other show, for that matter. I know he’s a new dad- just an episode or two will do!

3. Get more people to watch Detroit 1-8-7. It’s a good show and Detroit deserves attention for something other than unemployment.

4. Ask the networks if they can stop running my favorite shows against each other. I don’t even watch as many as some people!

5. I will watch a musical episode of just about anything. Just sayin’.

Thank you! I hope everything’s going well and wish you and yours happy holidays!

Love,
Caitlin

Two Cents And Five Questions With Jason Lee

lee heads to hope

Jason Lee, actor

Jason Lee is most known for his hit TV series My Name Is Earl and his big-screen role in the Alvin & The Chipmunks movies. Recently, we here at The Two Cents had the extreme pleasure of talking to him, who’s been in the neighborhood of one of our staffers filming Memphis Beat. He took a mini-vacation though to go play in a familiar sandbox, with a guest role on Raising Hope as Burt’s aging idol.

TheTwoCents: So tell us, we know that you love comedy, what was it that drew you to Raising Hope for this role?

The Top 10 (Season Premiere)

Forget about Glee. Forget about American Idol. The Sing Off is where the true raw talent of singing is.

Last season no one knew what to expect going into it. But this season, we knew to expect great songs without audio tuning and cheesy background bands. The same host and crew of judges are back. Nick, Nicole, Shawn and Ben all in their glory.

Talking about last season, if you were a Bubs fan, they are doing the vocals for the Warblers on Glee! While NOTA is still in the recording studio…..

And now, let’s meet the groups and see how they did.

Hooray for the CDC! Our little rag-tag group of zombie fighters are saved! Or are they? Jenner, the lone human left in the vast bunker is nice and all, but there is something looming; something dark and not-so-happy. Something possibly worse than zombies.

The group explores their new digs: hot showers, a pool table, board games, books, beds, and wine. Oh, the wine! After doing a mandatory (if a little pointless) blood test, Jenner turns the starving bunch loose in the kitchen. With all the booze and food and general all-around cleanliness (finally!), some walls come down. Rick confesses to Jenner that he knew they were all going to die if they didn’t get help; Andrea tells Dale that she knows they are STILL all going to die even though they did get help; and Shane… well, Shane almost rapes Lori.

A couple of natives are out hunting wild boar with bows and arrows when instead of a boar they find a young woman who needs help.
