Thank goodness for the SyFy channel right? Such amazing and original programming. They even took time to bring us a holiday episode during their midseason break! Eureka has had a crazy season so far, so I can’t wait to see what kind of mischief they can stir up now!

At Cafe Diem Carter tells the kiddies a story of when he was trapped in Eureka for Christmas a few years ago. One of the hottest Christmas weeks Eureka had ever seen. The electro-magnetic shield over Eureka was malfunctioning, trapping everyone in. Carter and Zoe try to make the best of it, including trying Vincent’s new fruitcake. Reluctantly Carter tries it and has a paroxysm over them. Then his and Allison’s phones ring and it’s a bogey in the sky! Turns out it’s not an enemy, but a sleigh led by flying reindeer! Actor Michael McMillian, who plays Fellowship of the Sun leader Reverend Steve Newlin, will co-author the all-new six-issue arc with fan-favorite writer Marc Andreyko. Cloris Leachman must be having the time of her life playing Maw Maw. She made cookies! And since it’s Christmas, Virginia forces Burt to let Maw Maw feed her one. Unfortunately they are dirt and rocks cookies. Off to a good start!

Burt and Jimmy are selling black market toys to make some extra Christmas cash. “My Baby Sneezes” is the hot toy this year (gross!) and Jimmy insists that one of the dolls is for Hope. Burt and Virginia try to talk him out of it, but Jimmy insists, because he never got good toys when he was growing. Continue reading

Dear TV Claus…

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

I’ve been a naughty boy this year but nonetheless I have some TV requests for you to deliver this year if you could:

1. A spin-off of Lost done by ABC on the Dharma Initiative taking us through its entire sordid history.

2. Cancel Jersey Shore and deport all the “actors and actresses” to the North Pole to stay with you permanently.

3. Don’t let ‘The Event‘ get silly or stupid (like Flash Forward did).

4. Cancel Jersey Shore and deport all the “actors and actresses” to the North Pole to stay with you permanently.

5. Don’t water down Tosh.0. It is perfect the way it is.

6. And finally, please cancel Jersey Shore and deport all the “actors and actresses” to the North Pole to stay with you permanently.

Thanks TV Claus – please say hello to Mrs. TV and all the TVelves.

Your buddy,
Thomas

Detroit 1-8-7 – Recap & Review – Shelter

Detroit 1-8-7
Shelter

Original Air Date: Dec 7, 2010

Despite what the title might indicate, there were still two cases tonight. But the idea of “Shelter” is present in both episodes, both on literal and figurative levels, adding another layer of depth to this already turbulent episode.

This week dug into Detroit’s race riots and violent past. It was unapologetic about the way the way many people used to be, and the end result represented why I think this show is deserving of more attention that it’s gotten.

It’s A Trade-Off

Trading roles has been a sitcom staple for as long as I can remember. My first television memory of it is The Brady Bunch, when Mike and Carol swapped their respective gender roles in the household. Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy switched lives in Trading Places. And tonight, Emmy and Steve go that traditional route in Running Wilde’s latest installment.

The core of this show is Steve and Emmy’s desire to conform each other to their own way of thinking. So what better ways than to have Emmy party like Steve and to have Steve try his hand at parenting Puddle. What shenanigans will ensue?

Glee Debate Club – A Very Glee Christmas

Welcome to another year of the McKinley Debate Club! We’re in our tenth session and things are changing every day in the hallways of McKinley High as school as in session.

Tonight, your favorite fan sites will discuss Brittany believing in Santa, Sue the Grinch, and the sweetness of Kurt and Blaine. As always, you are more than welcome to join in on the debate! And remember to come back and read the Recap & Review of the entire episode!

[Last updated Wednesday, Dec 8, 2010, 1:25 PM]

TheTwoCents: Farrah
Favorite Moment: Brittany wanting Artie to walk. And Artie walking. HELLO.
Favorite Quote: “Remember: even the smallest envelope is heavy for an elf.” (Brittany) … just so cute realizing her stupidity is actually just innocence.
Overall Episode Grade: D+
Random Thought: With two main characters who are Jewish, how could there be not one mention of Hanukkah? Or a Hanukkah song? There are Hanukkah songs! Besides, it goes against everything Rachel believes in to not be all protest-y about it. And Puck – who has been on all-Jewish singer kick – should have done something, too. Just doesn’t make sense.

In this week’s episode Castle and Beckett investigate the death of a pub owner who’s historical prohibition era speak-easy might be hiding a priceless and legendary treasure rich enough to kill for.

A fisherman casts a line off the docks and into the East River. But he doesn’t get a bite, he gets a body! Poor former dock worker Donald Hayes gets pulled from the river. Castle wants to blame it on a mob hit but it is not to be.

Okay everyone, this is the first review of The Closer. If you haven’t heard of it, it is on Mondays at 9EST on TNT.

There are only five episodes left of this season and they all promise to be amazing! Before the show went on a short hiatus, Brenda was not chosen as chief of police and she kept her old position as Deputy Chief.

Two And A Half Men – Recap & Review – Dead From The Waist Down

Two And A Half Men
Dead From The Waist Down

Original Air Date: Dec 6, 2010

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

This season, Two and a Half Men has been a bit off. I’m not sure if it has to do anything with the off-screen antics of the stars (er, star), but the show feels all over the place. Nothing makes sense! There has been no resolution of Charlie’s realization of his love for Rose, Lyndsey is back with no mention of Alan’s ex he began seeing on the side, and Courtney is sticking around for no reason besides Charlie being lonely.

Tonight is all about how much Charlie can give to Courtney while Alan can’t give much to Lyndsey. And it’s her birthday so he has to do something. Oh dear!
