It’s rare to see one contestant crash and burn so badly that you’re fairly certain they’re going to get voted off. But that’s exactly what happened during Motown Night.

The contestants got to work with legend Smokey Robinson, and they all recognized their good fortune in doing so. In fact, the show treated the Motown Midas like a king, which was only fitting.

Fun little side note: Both female judges wore red dresses. That must have been uncomfortable backstage! But not as uncomfortable as some of the group numbers…

Just another day following the crazy extended family. It’s all laughs, giggles, and competition. That’s right: competition. It’s On like Donkey Kong!

When You’re Tired of Breaking Other Hearts

Welcome back, Nashville fans!  I’m not sure what I missed most during that long hiatus: the acoustic guitar, the relationship intrigue, or Deacon’s new puppy. The dog is a boy named Sue. Deacon wants you to catch that Johnny Cash reference, but he might still date you if you don’t. At least, that’s how it goes with his new vet, who’s a West Coast transplant with a hankering for sushi and absolutely no love for country music.

Did she know she was moving to Nashville when she got on that plane? In any case, he’s as charmed by her ignorance as she is by his face, so they sleep together.

Legitimate Rape

Once cautious about basing stories off real-life events, SVU has become more and more blasé about using “ripped from the headlines” plots. Tonight, I think they’re thrown in the subtlety towel altogether- and what better subject to do so with?

A sports reporter named Avery meets Olivia at a café, not wanting to be seen going to police. She admits she was assaulted, but is uncomfortable saying more. When some fans arrive, she makes a quick exit. That night, she fins a folder of photos of herself.

Phillip is still on the show. That’s obvious, of course, but it’s also a drain. He is sucking the life and fun out of the season post-Brandon. He’s being tolerated by everyone on his alliance. He continues to be agonizingly self-deluding.

Meanwhile on the other tribe, Malcolm attempts to get his ducks in a row. He does his best to look several moves ahead and decides to make a deal with people he thinks he shares common ground with.

My Two Cents: This is the true story …

my-two-cents111… or at least it used to be.

This week, MTV will air the 28th season of The Real World. This season is being billed as “the realest Real World yet.” The sneak peaks shows us seven gorgeous 20-somethings yelling, drinking, throwing things, making out, threatening each other and their poor dog watching on. To prepare their audience, MTV aired a weekend-long marathon of older seasons, called “Retro MTV.” While I originally thought it was going to be five days long, it was three seasons over the span of three days. The choice of seasons caused it to be only halfway retro.

Worse things happen at sea, and the death of Navy Doctor Brian Haber is one of them. He’s found dead onboard the USS Borealis during that storm, but that does not look to be the cause of death. He was murdered!

Meanwhile, McGee is running late due to his responsibilities as a “Big Brother” looking after a geeky awesome little boy called Adam.

Nick Miller Nick Miller, from the streets of Chicago, is back on those streets tonight. His conman father has passed away suddenly, teaching us all a very important lesson: when life gets serious, don’t get caught with a squeaky helium balloon voice. More importantly, always support your friends. The roommates accompany Nick to his childhood home, giving Jess—and all of us—a closer look at what makes our favorite turtle face so turtly.

Fears are faced, costumes are magically shrunk, buttons are buttoned, and the gang reminds us again that family comes in many forms.
