Dear TV Claus…

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

To: TV Claus
From: JD

Hey, Claus, it’s me again. If you grant my wishes this year, I will be your best friend forever. Or at least the rest of the year. That’s long enough, right?

1a. Pleeeeease make CBS change their minds about the girls of Criminal Minds. Bring JJ back and don’t let this be Prentiss’ last season. Give CBS a lump of coal AND a swift kick in the butt.

1b. If you can’t do the above, please cast Paget Brewster and AJ Cook in the new Charlie’s Angels remake I keep hearing about! They would rock it!

2a. Maks and Brandy got ROBBED in season eleven of Dancing With The Stars, and Maks’ comments about it looked bleak. Please don’t let him quit the show. He’s one of the reasons I started watching it.

2b. If you grant the above wish, can you make sure he takes his clothes off more often? I think I could handle it once or twice a week. For that matter, could you do the same with Bear Grylls?

3a. Keep Running Wilde on the air. It might already be canceled by the time you get this, but if it isn’t, a ratings boost for them is much needed.

3b. If Running Wilde is already canceled when you get this, find another show for Peter Serafinowicz on American TV. The man is a comic genius.

4. Can I be on MythBusters? Preferably being all cool and smart, and NOT being blown up.

5. See wish number one.

Don’t let me down TV Claus! I’m counting on you!

Thanks,
JD

The Sing Off – Recap & Review – The Top Six

The Sing Off
The Top Six

Original Air Date: Dec 13, 2010

The Sing Off is heating up. Only six groups are left and tonight one goes home. And only one week until the finale!

In my opinion, I think there are two teams that can be eliminated right now. If you read on, you can find out who they are, which group actually did go home, who sang what, what the judges said, if the boy band song during Guilty Pleasures was by Boyz II Men or 98 Degrees (or neither) and what’s coming up on Wednesday for the top five.

There are a few sights you’d never expect to see on TV. BBT’s Sheldon falling in love. An all-women team winning The Amazing Race (oh wait, that did happen). Or Charlie Sheen kissing another dude.

Add to that list Parker sporting reindeer antlers with bells, singing Christmas carols and demanding snow — and yet that’s exactly what happened on this holiday-themed first-parter of the season finale. Seriously, does Parker have multiple personalities or something? This is the girl who rarely smiles unless she’s stealing something (although, having her decorate the tree with her stolen jewels was a nice touch).

The Hawaii Five-O HQ is shut down. CHK is strapped to a bomb, so Danno and McGarrett come to the rescue, without wearing suits, because the team is a unit dammit! CHK got knocked out and is now stuck with a bomb around his neck, while the ransomer has the team by the…well…you know what I mean.

In a flashback. Danno has a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and Kamekona comes over to deliver a Santa suit because he has to dress up for his daughter Grace. They get a call, CHK has a floater who’s an arms dealer. Max has sent all kinds of info to CHK, so the team is thinking either a big operation or a fearless guy, both of which are dangerous. Kono figures out where the body was dumped, turns out it was off the private beach of a very high end resort. The dead guy is on video footage with Victor Hesse (played by the impeccable James Marsters) who the team thought was dead.

First Christmas

Uh oh, it’s Christmas time and that means presents! The pressure to find the perfect gift to say how much you care for someone without over doing or under doing it. Women have no problem finding a great gift for their man, but men, well they have a harder time.

But even though Mike is having a tough time choosing a gift for Molly his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately for Mike, “it’s the thought that counts” is a total myth. Continue reading

Chaos has irrupted on Wisteria Lane. Paul Young has put his plan in motion and the neighbors do not take it well. Lynette (who appears to be the Homeowners’ Association president) is desperately trying to stop the plan for the halfway house, but she doesn’t have much luck.

Meanwhile, Bree has to deal with Keith and his botched attempt at a proposal; Gaby is still suffering over the loss of Grace; and Susan isn’t sure what to do with her knowledge of Renee and Tom. Chaos indeed…

Tradition is synonymous with the Walkers. They have lots of traditions, like drama, drinking wine, sneaking around and lying to each other. This Christmas will be no different. Except for one: There will be no Christmas.

WHAT?! Yep, that’s right. Nora has decided she wants to have her own Christmas with Karl in New Mexico and leaves the kids to have their own Christmas and start their own traditions. How will that work out? Who gets what decorations? And how does Holly fit into all of this? Read on to find out!

Patrick Gallagher Joins Men of a Certain Age

photo: tnt

Patrick Gallagher, who has co-starred as Coach Tanaka in Glee and Chow in True Blood, is coming to TNT’s MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE as a recurring character. In several upcoming episodes of the series starring Ray Romano, Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher, Gallagher will play Jesse, the supervisor of the service department at Thoreau Chevrolet. The rather slow workpace of his crew has been an ongoing problem with Owen (Braugher), who recently took over the dealership from his father. MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE airs Mondays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), with Gallagher’s first episode slated for tonight, Dec. 13.

In addition to Glee and True Blood, Gallagher has co-starred in such series as The Line and Da Vinci’s Inquest. He recently made guest appearances on the series Entourage and Hawaii Five-O. Gallagher’s big-screen credits include Sideways, Night at the Museum and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

Created by Ray Romano and Mike Royce, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE centers on three lifelong friends struggling to make their way through midlife. The show is a critical favorite, earning Braugher a 2010 Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE is from TNT Original Productions and is executive-produced by Romano, Royce, Rory Rosegarten and Cary Hoffman.

Dear TV Claus,

I think I’ve done more than enough to warrant something other than coal in my stocking! Here are a few suggestions that I’d like to wrap my greedy little hands around:

1. Could we please bring back Puckleberry on Glee? Mark Salling and Lea Michele agree with me on this one!

2. Give Supernatural a Season 7. Because the world needs candy like Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki delivering what they do best – a potent mix of heartfelt bromance, angst and Winchester humour. Plus that Impala…

3. Cancel every single CSI franchise on-air right now and reinvest in more interesting shows. Like Life Unexpected and a third season of Legend of the Seeker.

4. Let Aaron Sorkin develop another political drama like The West Wing.

5. Death to every single reality-based show on the tube. Every. Single. One. Except Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane. Because that’s kind of a guilty pleasure.

6. More Team Forwood on Vampire Diaries. Oh, and let Elena be less whiny.

Thanks TV Claus – please say hello to the Missus and all your little TVelves.

Your homegirl,
Alyssa
