Dear TV Claus…

Hi gang! Happy Holidays to you all! For the month of December, the crew here at TheTwoCents.com will be writing our letters to TV Claus. A powerful being who transcends all beliefs to bring us the wonderment of good television. You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

Thanks for helping out with some of my wishes from last year. Think you can make this year even better? Here’s my list:

1. Can this please be the last season of The Office? I love the show, but it’s dying a slow and painful death. Wasn’t the whole crux of the story the journey of Pam and Jim from friends to married? Well, that’s happened. I got my closure. Move on.

2. Please ban all shows Jersey-related. I’m lookin’ at you Jersey Shore and Jersey-licious. Sure, to rip these ridiculous shows from the air would put Joel McHale out of a job, but he’s got another. Speaking of…

3. This is more of a statement than a request, but thank you so much for Community. It rocks.

4. And speaking of McHales, please, oh please can there be more dream sequences on Glee with Artie dancing?

Love and kisses,
Rachel

Stargate Universe Canceled

no more stargate universe

After lots of speculation, it has finally been reported officially that that Syfy channel’s Stargate Universe has been canceled.

This follows the cancellation of another Syfy show, Caprica.

The series stars Robert Carlyle, David Blue and Ming-Na as a stranded group of passengers traveling on a ship to the far reaches of the universe. The final 10 episodes of Season 2 will air in the spring.

For those who do watch Syfy, on the schedule for next season, you’ll be able to see Warehouse 13, Eureka and Haven, and new series Being Human, Alphas, and Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome.

John Corbett To Guest Star On Parenthood

corbett heads to parenthood

According to deadline.com, John Corbett, who stars in United States of Tara, will be heading over to NBC’s Parenthood to guest star as Seth, Sarah’s ex-husband.

While Corbett did not originate the role (that was Darin Heames of Sons of Anarchy), it is not unusual for a recast after pilot episodes, which was the last time Seth was seen. Corbett will start his multi-episode arc in early March when the show moves to Mondays at 10 PM.

Also look for Corbett in season 3 of Showtime’s United States of Tara.

My Two Cents: Having started watching Beverly Hills 90210 (the original) from the pilot last week, I discovered only one set of the parents stayed the same after the pilot. That being said, I think this is a great move. If the original didn’t work out (and who really remembers that pilot episode?) then I say go for the recast. And with John Corbett? Win! I picture some awesome Peter Krause and John Corbett scenes.

Dear TV Claus,

1. Please continue to allow Neil Patrick Harris to sing and dance on television. I don’t care if its on How I Met Your Mother or Glee or any other place, but he must do more singing and dancing.

2. I would love to see more Private Practice/Grey’s Anatomy Cross-over events. The more, the better.

3. Please give Sheldon Cooper a real girlfriend. I’m not a fan of Amy, but I think he should be seduced by a normal, non-genius girl.

4. I would love it if Matthew Morrison guest starred on Hannah Montana!

5. Even though its been decided, please don’t end Hannah Montana. I’m going to miss that show way too much.

6. And finally, its time for 30 Rock to bring in some new and interesting story lines. I’m starting to get bored…Sorry, Tina Fey!

Thanks,
Faye

Not Sure Where I Stand

The low down
In this episode, one player shows off his or her lack of game-play skills, another player shows she or he doesn’t understand the “game” nature of the game, and a third player demonstrates a surprising amount of maturity. Plus, someone dumps water onto the fire just before being voted out.

Also, these players aren’t that bright. They don’t understand what they’re doing or the impact they’re having on jury votes as they do it.

Dear TV Claus…

Dear TV Claus,

This year I’ve been especially good (for the most part), so I hope you don’t mind bringing me a few special things. Here’s my wish list:

1. Please let the cast and crew of Arrested Development finally make up their minds about making a movie. I’ll be kind of sad if it doesn’t happen, but at least I’ll know not to get my hopes up anymore.

2. Now that Parks & Recreation is going to follow The Office on Thursdays, make some of those viewers stick around so it doesn’t end up getting canceled. Last season proved that it’s one of the best sitcoms on the air, and unfortunately not enough people are watching.

3. Speaking of The Office, help the producers find the best possible replacement for Steve Carell. If it will help make the show just as funny as it was a few seasons ago, that’d be even better.

4. Also, in the future if you can prevent contestants with strong political ties from appearing on competition shows like DWTS, it’d be much appreciated. No matter what your political leanings may be, dragging politics into a show that’s supposed to be mindless entertainment takes the fun out of it by heavily skewing the results. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if the so-called “stars” were actually famous for something other than their last name.

5. Lastly, make sure more people start tuning in to Parenthood, especially when it moves to Monday nights. It’s a solid little show with a great cast, that not enough people are watching.

Thanks in advance TV Claus! I know you won’t let me down.

Your friend,
Hector

NCIS: Los Angeles – Recap & Review – Disorder

NCIS: Los Angeles
Disorder

Original Air Date: Dec 14, 2010

Alyssa Silva – TwoCents Reviewer
alyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

My cousin watched this with me and told me that she preferred the original NCIS. That isn’t an original comment. But this episode lived up to its Big Brother – there was complex character development coupled with a case that left us guessing. What makes it even better was that it was a Kensi-centric episode! We find out something that was hinted at last season and can I say that I so knew she was telling the truth back in Brimstone.

What was revealed you ask? Read on after the jump!

The Sing Off

While Boyz II Men are just down the street performing to a sold out crowd (it’s a small theatre), The Sing Off continues.

Tonight is the last episode before the finale. We get Superstar Medleys and Judge’s Choice. I am really worried about the competition at this point because of Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town. Why? Read on to find out. (Also discussed: What surprise elimination had me fuming mad, what medley made Committed not so churchish anymore and what made Courtney cry.)
