KPonTV on Last Minute TV Gifts (Kroffts, Deadwood & Snoopy)

kpontv

If you’re a good shopper, like I am, you like the pressure of waiting till the very very last minute. There’s nothing better than those blank desperate faces sprinting around the mall at 9pm on Christmas Eve.

Well, if there are any fans that like fun TV on your list, I have some input on three great gifts. They run the spectrum from amazing drama to classic 1970s kid fun to Snoopy.

I’ve received three DVD sets to review for you guys and all three are worthy of purchase this season – depending on who you are buying them for.

Read on to see what I have to offer and then click the page numbers at the bottom of the pages to continue on. If you like these gift ideas, or have some of your own to share, please do so in the comments below.

A Fan’s Request To TV Claus

Thanks for sending this in Heather! We’ll be sure to get it right up to TV Claus!

Dear TV Claus,

I have been a good, loyal tv follower this year. I have faith that you will agree with my wishes:

1) BRING BACK AJ COOK to Criminal Minds!! Her loss is sorely felt every episode. The fans miss her, and we want her back. Like yesterday…

2) If you can’t convince the buttheads that run CBS to do this, please give her a kick-ass long term role. Preferably one that will run opposite the Criminal Minds spin off.

3) Please allow William Shatner on *$(@ My Dad Says to continue harrassing his kids. It is reminiscent of old-school Roseanne that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

You’ll see a new letter to TV Claus almost daily here and we hope you’ll chime in your TwoCents to TV Claus too!

Dear TV Claus,

I’ve been a good girl this year and I’m hoping you can make some of my wishes come true! Here’s my list:

1. Please find a way to bring Fizbo the Clown back to Modern Family at least once per season.

2. Please ask HBO to announce when the Zoey Deschanel/Pamela Des Barres groupie project will air.

3. Please make Project Runway good (with sane judges) again.

4. Please make new network shows that are quality and succeed without being about doctors, lawyers, or cops.

5. Please make ratings magic happen for Parenthood so it receives a third season pick-up.

6. Please stop making inferior remakes of old shows. I do not want to see Small Wonder in 2012.

Thanks TV Claus – please say hello to Mrs. TV and all the TVelves.

Your buddy,
Karen Belgrad

CBS Announces Mid-Season Additions and Time Period Moves

criminal minds: suspect behavior debuts feb. 16

CBS today announced mid-season series premiere dates and some time period moves for America’s top-rated Network.

BLUE BLOODS, the season’s #2 freshman series among viewers and Friday’s top program in both viewers and adults 25-54, will move to Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) for four consecutive weeks beginning Jan. 19. BLUE BLOODS returns to its regular Friday time period (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on Feb. 11.

CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR, a spin-off of CBS’s top 10 hit, CRIMINAL MINDS, premieres Wednesday, Feb. 16 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

Blue Bloods And The Defenders Come Back To New Times

when will blue bloods air after hiatus?

According to deadline.com, after the midseason break, CBS will bring back Friday night freshman hit Blue Bloods to a new timeslot and take fellow freshman hit, The Defenders, and move it around as well.

Before winter hiatus, Blue Bloods was on Friday nights at 10 PM, averaging about 12 million viewers (and even was able to take the night during reruns). When it returns on January 19th, it will come back on Wednesdays at 10 PM for four weeks to see how it does. After the four-week run, it will head back to its timeslot on February 11th and will be filled by the Criminal Minds spinoff, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior on February 16th.

The show currently in that time slot – The Defenders – will switch to Friday nights at 8 PM, previously held by now-canceled Medium on February 4th.

My Two Cents: This could be really good for Blue Bloods or really bad. It has an established fanbase and sometimes changing timeslots can ruin that. However, Wednesday nights is generally a better timeslot for TV shows. It will be up against the new ABC drama Off The Map, which can either do really well or tank (Deep End, I’m looking at you…). I personally love the show and will follow it wherever it goes. What about you?

THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW, the animated comedy series based on the record-breaking podcast, returns to HBO for its 13-episode second season FRIDAY, JAN. 14 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other new episodes on subsequent Fridays at the same time. The voices are recorded by Ricky Gervais, his longtime collaborator, Stephen Merchant, and Gervais’ colleague and friend, Karl Pilkington, whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines.

Once again, THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW animates podcasts that first appeared on The Guardian website, and subsequently earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads. Topics covered in season two include: 21st-century scientific innovations, bizarre medical stories, Ricky’s pet project to “Get Karl Famous” and Karl’s fascination with doppelgangers and twins, as well as the regular features “Monkey News” and readings from Karl’s diary.

Dear TV Claus,

I’ve been good enough this year so I would be ever so grateful if you’d take a look at my modest list and grant me a few wishes.

1. Please get Community some viewers. I don’t want to lose this show.

2. While we’re on the subject, could I have Joel McHale in his underwear?

3. Can Amber Tamblyn please stay on House awhile? I kind of like her. A lot.

4. Did I mention Joel McHale and underwear? Right.

5. Could we have more Troy and Abed In The Morning? Please?

Thanks, TV Claus. Just remember, you’re my favorite. Don’t tell the others.
Shannon
