Biggest Loser
Season 11 Episode 4

Original Air Date: Jan 25, 2011

Tonight we had a shorter show due to the State of the Union address. But we still had a great hour of challenges and confrontations.

We open on everyone’s reactions to Don and Dan each gaining nine pounds. I just don’t see how they didn’t cheat. I hate it when people lie about something that’s so obvious. But Don continues to deny any wrongdoing. “I didn’t want to be involved in any controversy”. Yeah right!

I’ll be filling in for your usual SouthLAnd recapper this week, Farrah. She’ll be back for the next episode, so if you really dislike how I recap, don’t worry, you won’t have to put up with it beyond this one.

This was a very good episode of a very good show. You don’t see the ending coming until just a few moments before it happens.

Castle – Recap & Review- Knockdown

Castle
Knockdown

Original Air Date- Jan 24, 2011

Alexis P- Reviewer

In this week’s must-see episode, Beckett and Castle get personal on a very personal case. Beckett gets another step closer to discovering who had her mother killed. Somewhere tangled up in a web of lies and a well of secrets is the truth Beckett is looking for. But will she survive long enough to uncover the truth? Castle and Beckett grow closer as Beckett deals with the demons of the past and a real moment spent in Castle’s arms.

First I have to say if you haven’t watched this episode yet, you absolutely have to see it. It was by far the best episode this season and one of the best of the series. But let me get down to business. As the episode begins Beckett gets a call from the cop who was the lead investigator on her mother’s case, John Raglan. He says he has secrets she has to know. So she goes to Castle, someone she trusts. The older says 19 years ago he made mistakes and one of them was her mother. Suddenly shots are fired and Raglan is shot. Raglan dies there on the floor and his secrets with him. Wow, what an opening.

Chuck
Chuck vs. The Gobbler

Original Air Date: Jan 24, 2011

The episode opens cold with Casey being beaten severely by a woman in a black wig. He grunts his usual disapproval and asks his attacker for more before the shot widens and we realize it’s Sarah in her rogue-agent costume. Casey is knocked unconscious and we’re knocked backwards to two days earlier at the Spy More.

Morgan and Casey are discussing Chuck’s mental health, not about the Intersect or lack-there-of but about how Chuck is handling being away from Sarah while she’s working in deep cover. Morgan believes his friend will be depressed and cautions Casey to be on the look out for signs of Chuck’s depression. Casey spots the whistling, happy Chuck walking into the store  “There’s Mr. Mopes now.”  Chuck assures his team he’ll be fine. He knows Sarah and he knows that unlike his mother, being undercover will never change who she is.

The Cape
Scales

Original Air Date: Jan 24, 2011

Rachel M – Staff Writer
rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

So the aptly named Scales is in charge of the docks, and instead of Fleming taking the meeting himself, he sends a cocky flunky. The Cape figures out that Fleming is double dipping from Scales, taking 75% of his money in various ways. At the lair, Vince and Orwell are preparing for a train masquerade in which they hope Scales will out Fleming, but Vince is particularly grumpy because it’s Trip’s birthday. He goes to Max, Rollo and Ruvi for backup but they have Carnival business and won’t help him. They are clearly up to their old no-good tricks.

At the docks, the B level bad guys are unloading some nasty cargo when The Cape pays them a visit. He confronts Scales to tip him off to Fleming’s scheme, and set the bait.

A bunch of guys at Challenge Training Camp do a run in the rain while the drill sergeant yells at them and calls them maggots and whatnot.  One kid complains that he feels awful but the drill sergeant makes him do it all anyway.  You’d think that kid would be our patient but you’d be wrong.  The drill sergeant’s back goes out and he can’t move and the kid he was yelling at just gets up and leaves him there.  Ooh, someone’s cleaning the john later.
