SouthLAnd – Recap & Review – The Winds

SouthLAnd
The Winds

Original Air Date: Feb 1, 2011

SouthLAnd blew my mind last week. This is one of the few shows where I stay spoiler-free. So when Nate was killed at the end, I couldn’t stop crying or going WHAT? WHAT! WHAT?! Shawn Hatosy deserves a thousand awards for his performance as Sammy, trying to save his partner.

This week picks up with the aftermath of losing Nate, Josie and Lydia still at one another’s throats, Cooper’s back and the repercussions of Sherman’s actions last week.

Opening Scene: Officer John Cooper driving behind a truck and looks down for a minute. A ladder falls off and he has to swerve to miss it. He gets out of the car, falls to the ground and screams.

Voiceover: SouthLAnd cops know when the Santa Ana winds blow, you learn just how close you are to the edge.

The Good Wife – Recap & Review – Silly Season

The Good Wife
Silly Season

Original Air Date: Feb 1, 2011

Can Chris Noth do great puppy-dog eyes or what? As Peter begged Alicia to let him back into bedroom (“we’re not just roommates”), it must have been a difficult decision for her to make. After all, he cheated on her multiple times with skanks. But he’s also been her partner for a long time and he just made a huge sacrifice for his family (more on that later). And well, dammit, he’s just gorgeous!

This episode seemed to be about the hard choices and the many roads we have to choose from. The case illustrated that point fairly well. Alicia is defending Joey Church, a prison inmate who – with two weeks until parole – appears to killed another prisoner. Cary is prosecuting (of course) and is upset when Alicia gets his key witness thrown out. They continue bouncing the advantage back and forth like a ping pong ball. Cary and his partner Geneva decides the problem is Kalinda’s expert investigating. “Whenever I see that bitch,” says Geneva, “I know we’re in trouble.”

Detroit 1-8-7 – Recap & Review – Road to Nowhere

Road to Nowhere

Original Air Date: Feb 1, 2011

Caitlin- Associate Staff Writer
caitlin@thetwocentscorp.com

2 weeks ago, just 2 days before it was supposed to air, I learned from an ad for a 20/20 special that the new episode of Detroit 1-8-7- and the resolution to the last episode’s cliffhanger- would be pushed back two weeks.

Of course, the special was on the tragic Tucson shooting, and then there was President Obama’s State of the Union address, so I couldn’t complain (much). Regardless, we’ve been waiting way too long for this episode.

The Cape Episode Order Cut Short

photo: nbc

With declining ratings and poor critical reviews, NBC is cutting their losses with the midseason series The Cape.

From Deadline.com:

Things are not looking good for midseason drama The Cape. NBC just cut the order to the comic book-inspired series from 13 to 10. That means stop of production for the show, which is now wrapping Episode 10.

After an OK start on Sunday earlier this month, The Cape has been sliding in its regular Monday 9 PM slot. Last night, the show drew a 1.5/4, down 6% for a series low. It is not clear if the shortened order will affect the return of The Event to the Monday 9 PM berth, currently scheduled for Feb. 28. One possible scenario floated around has The Cape finishing its 10-episode run on Feb. 28, with The Event relaunching with 2 back-to-back episodes (instead of a recap and an original) the following Monday, March 7.

Dallas Is Back – J.R. Too!

will j.r. get shot again?

The original Dallas ran from 1978 to 1991 and followed the Ewing family of Southfork. The modern story of Dallas focuses on the Ewing offspring – J.R. Ewing’s son, John Ross, and the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing, Christopher – as they clash over the future of the family dynasty.
