Cold open:  Kelly and Ryan announce that they are getting divorced.  See, they got drunk last weekend and got married.  Now they want the office staff to pick a side.  No one is all that interested.  Can’t say that I blame them.

Michael confronts Holly about why they aren’t dating since she broke up with AJ weeks ago.  Holly says she doesn’t want to keep dating people she works with.  Michael insists they belong together.  He then works himself into a snit.

While I would probably be rapt with attention, gazing adoringly at Jim Parsons were he in front of me speaking about topological insulators, apparently not everyone feels the same way. When Sheldon is a guest lecturer for a the college’s “best and brightest” physics class, the gang is watching the Twitter feed update with the students’ hatred of him. They revel in telling him about it, until they realize the comments have really hurt his feelings.

Amy tries to make him feel better by loading an underwater background on her webcam feed and “swimming” (it was so cute!), but it doesn’t cheer him up. Since he doesn’t want her to shoot the memory out of his brain with a laser, she suggests he take acting lessons to improve his communication and presentation skills.

Top Chef – Recap & Review – An Offer They Can’t Refuse

Top Chef
An Offer They Can’t Refuse

Original Air Date: Feb 2, 2011

Ryan O – Two Cents Reviewer
ryano@thetwocentscorp.com

This show featured another interesting Quickfire and an Elimination that seemed to give three chefs a bit of an advantage. We were so close to sending home another chef I really, really dislike but he slipped by.

Quickfire
Isaac Mizrahi is in the kitchen as the guest judge for the Quickfire. Padma tells us this round is about inspiration. The dishes won’t be tasted; they will only be judged on the basis of their appearance. They get 30 minutes to cook or, actually, prepare. We learn that Carla used to model in Paris when she was younger.

Blue Bloods – Recap & Review – Hall of Mirrors

Blue Bloods
Hall of Mirrors

Original Air Date: Feb 2, 2011

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor

Sorry about missing last week. I was off in Charlotte, NC – home of NASCAR. While Blue Bloods was airing, I was at a dinner hosted by ESPN and Red Bull in a room with two race cars in it. It’s a big deal in my world but I was sad to miss my television shows.

So what did ya’ll miss last week? Not a whole lot, although Erin got cozy with the DA and the one remaining piece to the Joe puzzle apparently killed herself, leaving Jamie even more suspicious than ever.

This week is all about trust and gut feelings. Frank will trust Danny with a huge case, causing him to lie to his partner. Jamie will use his gut when his partner thinks he’s crazy. And of course, Erin has to break some rules to help one of her brothers.

Imagine a man who commits an unspeakable crime. Imagine that man, so haunted by his past, spending the rest of his life trying to make amends. Does it matter? This episode is all about choices—the ones we make and the ones we try to avoid—and how to live (and die) with the consequences.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Austin

I can’t say that Austin impressed me that much in general, yet if I were a betting person, I would put money on two of its singers cracking the top 12.

First of all, doesn’t it bug you when you hear the judges say in a montage “one of the best we’ve seen” and we don’t get to see that person? All I can think is that the tune that mystery person sang was not cleared, so we never even got to see a face. Maybe there’s a big surprise waiting for us in Hollywood… or not.

Law & Order SVU – Recap & Review – Flight

Law & Order SVU
Flight

Original Air Date: Feb 2, 2011

Caitlin- Associate Staff Writer
caitlin@thetwocentscorp.com

In last night’s SVU, a man raped an innocent victim, making the detectives deal with a (literal) “he said/she said” case in order to bring him to justice. You’d be surprised how long it’s been since we’ve had a plot like that on this show.

The episode opens on a plane in the middle of a flight. Suddenly, a girl starts screaming at the man next to her, yelling in French. Another passenger slams the man into a wall, saying the girl said he was trying to rape her.

Cougar Town – Recap & Review – Cry To Me

Cry to Me

Original Air Date: Feb 2, 2011

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

Jules: Oh my. To see Grayson cry would be like seeing….a double-rainbow.

I hate Valentine’s Day. I also hate when my favorite shows do episodes about Valentine’s Day. I was hoping I would get a reprieve since Cougar Town is going on hiatus to make room for Mr. Sunshine. But alas, I was wrong.

What I did get was Jules begging Grayson to cry, creepy Tom, Kirsten and Trav and Christmas decorations getting set on fire.

And with that, I bring you See You Soon Cougar Town (Stay In Touch @Vdoozer, @Kbeigel or @CougarTownRoom). Get it? Because they’re going on hiatus….
