I’m Here

Hey everybody, I’m filling in for Meg this week and I’ll try to do her awesome recap’s justice. This week we’re learning more about Mina and Tommy’s past and their reasons for being in the jungle. We’ve also got a pretty amazing rescue, three love dramas playing out and Ryan is sick, coughing up a storm at the soccer game, then again when they come up from the rescue. It’s an episode about family and redemption, continuing on the theme of last week’s show. PS- if you’re squeamish this is not the show for you.

The entire hospital appears is out on the beach playing soccer. Mina is all freaked about Otis hugging her during the game, and Charlie is exchanging messages between Tommy and Alma. Ah, young love!

American Idol- Recap & Review – San Francisco

American Idol

Here’s a message to all you American Idol hopefuls: Stop saying that auditioning for the show is “a once in a lifetime shot.” It’s not. You can keep auditioning for years and years or until you are 29. And — please listen up —it’s NOT the only way to become a singing star.

Not only are there plenty of other talent shows, but you could also try the old fashioned way. You know— play bars, make your own CD, work at it. There were stars before American Idol. Really. OK, not for the 15-year-olds.

Wishes Do Come True II- Norm MacDonald Returning to TV!

norm's back!

Last month, we posted a piece about people we’d like to see back on our TV, and shortly thereafter it was announced that Kristen Bell might be returning to television. And now it appears another of our wishes are coming true, as our very own Arthur’s pick looks to be making a comeback as well.

According to the Associated Press, Norm MacDonald will be starring on Sports Show with Norm MacDonald.

“Comedy Central announced today that it’s picking up the series and ordering eight episodes. The show will feature Macdonald’s comedic take on the most topical and controversial stories from the sports world.  The show will be taped in front of a live studio audience. It’s set to premiere in April.”

My TwoCents: Hopefully the show turns out to be a terrific outlet for Norm’s quick wit and commentary skills!

Ah, Valentine’s day.  The last bastion of torture for single people and oddly enough, most couples.  In fact, the pressure on couples to top themselves and show their most romantic, endearing sides can often lead to great conflict.  And nobody does humorous conflict like Modern Family.

Last year’s My Funky Valentine was an instant classic in a standout first season.  Therefore, this year’s episode had a lot of expectations to live up to.  Let’s see if it lived up to the hype, shall we?

It’s Valentine’s Day on the Biggest Loser ranch. That means lots of chocolate and temptation. What happens when someone has a chance to turn the game on its ear? It’s getting very interesting up in here.

We pick up directly where we left off last week; right after the elimination.

As usual, The Middle never disappoints and tonight was no exception. As we all know, Valentine’s Day is next week so this week’s shows are Valentine’s Day themed. Well, in the Heck household, you know that any holiday can’t be normal.

SouthLAnd – Recap & Review – Cop Or Not

SouthLAnd
Cop or Not

Original Air Date: Feb 8, 2011

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

SouthLAnd let me down last week by not diving into the fallout of Nate’s death (although many a True Blood fan are excited to get Kevin Alejandro full time, they are well aware that he has been killed off both of his shows now). They redeemed themselves by diving into the head of John Cooper a bit, but with only four episodes left, I’m not sure what to expect anymore.

This week the show dives into the story of a celebrity murder, with Lydia and Josie at the center of it all. But what I’m most excited for? Russell is back on the job (sort of) and a, um, side of Cooper we haven’t seen yet.

Opening scene: Lydia and Josie bringing out a suspect in handcuffs, surrounded by fans, paparazzi and cops (Sherman and Cooper) trying to keep things calm.

Voiceover: The celebrity culture makes police work in Los Angles different from anywhere else in the country. But ask Detective Lydia Adams about it and she’ll tell ya … celebrity’s a bitch.

Raising Hope – Recap & Review – Romeo & Romeo

Raising Hope
Romeo & Romeo

Original Air Date: Feb 8, 2011

Rachel M – Staff Writer
rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

FINALLY Raising Hope is back! Did you see Hope in her Super Bowl commercial? So adorable! I’m so grateful to have some major laughter back in my line up! What shenanigans will the Chance family get into now? Maw Maw is lucid, and being used by Burt to fix his landscaping truck. Apparently she’s a whiz at fixing things, and each time she’s lucid long enough they have a list of things for her to fix. Lucid Maw Maw is fun but I think I like her better when she’s not. Does that make me a terrible person?

Jimmy’s friends think he’s lame now because he has to be all responsible for Hope, and unlike his parents, he doesn’t have the mother in his life to keep him company. Sabrina comes to the rescue to match make Jimmy with a new dad friend.
