In movies and television, there’s the long used phrase “meet cute.”  A meet cute is defined as when two potential partners meet in contrived way in unusual or comic circumstances.  Think of any Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, or Hugh Grant romantic comedy and you’ll know what I am referring to.

Mad Love is all about the meet cute.  We’re quickly introduced to the two romantic leads, two comic best friend sidekicks (who can’t stand each other).  Based on the high pedigree of actors (Scrub’s Sarah Chalke, American Pie’s Jason Biggs, Boston Legal’s Tyler Labine, and the underappreciated Judy Greer of sidekick fame in 13 Going on 30, 27 Dresses, etc…) there is high expectations for the show.  So let’s see how the premiere lives up to the hype.

“Valentine’s Day. What’s the point? – Nora

It’s Valentine’s Day at the Walker family house. What does that mean? Wine and drama, of course!

We pick up with the Brody drama (thank you, Rose!), Saul and Jonathan running circles around each other, a lonely Justin on Valentine’s Day, Scotty actually working at the restaurant and an angry Sarah. Can you feel the drama?

It’s been awhile since we’ve been to Wisteria Lane so let’s have a little recap on what’s been going on in their lives.  Bree lied to Amber about telling Keith about his son.  Lynette’s mom married the nursing home jerk.  Susan needs a kidney.  Gaby is flipping out over a doll that looks like Grace.  And it appears that Zach was the one that shot Paul.

In this flashback episode we also find out that Zach has squandered all the money that his grandfather left him on women, gambling and drugs.  The big mansion is in foreclosure and he’s living in some dumpy apartment.  So now that we’re all caught up, read on to find out what happens next.

TTC Weekly Picks Feb 14 – Feb 20

ttc weekly picks

February 14 – February 20
Annette – Associate Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.

So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

#1 Monday, February 14 & Tuesday, February 15 – 8:00PM ET – USA/CNBC – The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Live from New York’s Madison Square Garden, this is the best of the best of all the dog shows. At least in my opinion because this is the only televised dog show that will show every single dog in competition. So no missing out on your favorite breed – bring on the Chessie!

Returning from a three week hiatus, I wanted to like this week’s Family Guy. I really did. But it seemed like every time I was about ready to give the episode another chance, it found another way to fall flat. It’s easily the weakest episode of the year, a dud on the level with an average episode of Seth MacFarlane’s red-headed stepchild The Cleveland Show.

But let’s get on with the recap.

So, a guy (played by Ne-Yo) walks into a lounge, he chats to a gorgeous woman as she’s sat at the bar, sexily stirring her martini and olives. There’s an interesting chat about music, not just the normal cheesy pick-up lines that guys usually give. The guy asks the pretty lady to excuse him for one moment.

Then he shoots two men and the bartender. He takes the reluctant woman with him.

This week we catch a glimpse of what Sam was up to while Dean was playing Soccer Mum. An old case Sam worked with Gramps comes back to haunt him and offers us a telling juxtaposition between RoboSam and Soul!Sam. Between sex, scratching and spiders the Great Wall of Sam begins to come apart and the results will shock you.

Interested? I know you are. Read on after the jump!

Love is in the air in the halls of Degrassi during Valentine’s Day (including Sav dressed as cupid).

So what kind of love is going on? Dave has a new crush, Anya is going after Dr. Chris, and Fiona and Adam are finally gonna “go there.” (Get it, because “Degrassi goes there”?) Anyhoo, since we only get half the cast at a time, let’s see what happened with this half.
