For the next two episodes, our girls are in LA! Why? So Victoria can film her starring role on All My Children opposite Susan Lucci (Erica Kane). She’s been starving herself for five days to show off her body in her sexy lingerie while she delivers an Emmy-worthy speech.

What could possibly go wrong?!?

So, first of all, hearing Howard have a normal relationship conversation is kind of disconcerting. And so is seeing him put his turtleneck dickie on as he’s leaving Bernadette’s.

Bernadette’s getting a little tired of watching Howard get re-dressed and leave right after coitus so he can be home to help his mother get her wig and, um, eyebrows on in the morning. She asks if he’s considered them moving in together, but he assumes she means with his mother. She clarifies, but he’s still not registering the idea until he goes home and has to deal with his mother, who apparently greets everyone with “Who’s there!? Are you a sex criminal!?”

Even though I liked this episode better than the pilot I still didn’t find myself caring the characters as much I should. OK, maybe I liked Matthew Perry’s Ben Donovan a bit more because he showed that he did care about some thing. And I’ll love Alison Janey (Crystal) in anything she does.

But with no Jose Garcia around, the rest of the characters seemed rather shallow.

Many, many thanks to Rachel M. for filling in for me last week! As much as I like this show, I have to admit some of these medical cases are making me squeamish! This week we’ve got viral meningitis, appendicitis, afraid-of-my-girlfriend’s-father-itis, and some very bad news for Ryan.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Group Round

Why is it that every year we get bitchy, pushy singers making everyone else’s like hell during Group Round? Sure, it makes for dramatic TV, but don’t these singers ever get it? We will eventually be voting for you and if you kick the cute 15-year-old out of your group, we have already branded you a villain and you can forget ever getting my vote.

Payback is the real bitch. Sometimes that payback is immediate and other times it’s delayed.

Within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit are rapid response teams known as ‘Red Cells’. These nontraditional teams operate outside the bureaucracy and report solely to the Director of the FBI.

With this message CBS’s newest crime show starts, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. A show which has already received a lot of negative attention because of what has been going on with the original ‘Criminal Minds’. Nevertheless I couldn’t wait to see this show.

I deserve to be happy and successful. I am worthy of love. I am the author of my own fate. I am my own unique self. I am at peace. Ummm… The early bird gets the worm. The pen is mightier than the sword. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood…??

Affirmations. Do they work? Some think so. Do they make sense? Usually, yes. Can someone please explain to me how “Today I do; tomorrow I will” makes sense, though? Maybe I’m a little dim. Maybe it’s more simple than I’m giving it credit for. Or maybe I’m just beyond help. Anyway, there’s the source of this week’s episode title. What do you want to bet someone in this episode has self-esteem issues?

This episode had been advertised for several weeks now because it’s guest starring Debra Messing. What wasn’t even hinted at, is what takes place about two-thirds of the way into the hour. I read spoilers, and I didn’t see it coming.

A girl lets a man into her apartment. It’s quickly apparent he’s there to have sex with her, but he doesn’t realize he’s being filmed for an exposé television show. The host, Alicia, shoots him with a tazer. Later, she receives a package supposedly from a cop. It’s a bloody scarf.

This episode guest stars the most famous blue celebrity I can think of: Cookie Monster! So, the episode is automatically awesome. He brings some friends and they even taste the food and judge the Quickfire challenge, which makes it that much more awesome.

The elimination challenge can’t live up to that and doesn’t really try. Cooking for 100 people in Target is sort of vanilla.

The low down
I am not excited about this season. Russell is back. I think I was pretty straight-forward with how I felt about Russell the last time he was on the show but in case you’re just tuning in (Welcome!) or don’t remember: I hate Russell. There is nothing redeeming about watching him on this show. I do not find him entertaining.

Rob has also returned. I don’t care. I don’t like him. I don’t dislike him. I’m a little tired of seeing him but I can deal.
