KPonTV on Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures Now on DVD!

photo: warner brothers

When I was little – I loved Tom & Jerry and Woody Woodpecker cartoons. However, my mother never let me watch them because she felt they were too violent. Man, imagine that today with the brutal stuff the kids watch on Saturday mornings.

Anyway – Warner Bros. is here to the rescue for adult me to satisfy the little KP inside. They have released Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures on DVD.

They’re at it again – hilariously – in a new and nutty 14-cartoon collection! In this corner, a perturbed pussycat. In the other corner, a mischievous mouse. Let the comedic mayhem begin with this menagerie of 14 fur-flying dust-ups. The tussling twosome travel through time (Guided Mouse-ille), to Europe (Neapolitan Mouse) and into space (O-Solar-Meow). And it’s two against one when Tom’s scaredy-cat cousin George comes to town in Timid Tabby. But Jerry comes out on top time and again in Pet Peeve, That’s My Mommy and Robin Hoodwinked. This collection’s classic cartoons starring your family’s longstanding favorite cat and mouse duo again prove that as their rivalry is neverending, so are the joy and the laughs they spark!

NBC Picks Up Biggest Loser, Who Do You Think You Are and The Sing-Off

keep singing kids!

NBC issued pickups for three returning alternative series in 2011-12 in “The Biggest Loser,” “Who Do You Think You Are?” and the singing competition series “The Sing-Off.”

The announcement was made today by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.

“Alternative series such as these three bona fide hits are important not only to their loyal audiences but also as strong components of the NBC schedule,” said Greenblatt. “They are each unique, attention-getting shows with terrific producing and talent auspices, and we’re proud to be associated with them.”

NBC’s popular series “The Biggest Loser” launched season 11 “Couples Edition” in January with two new trainers — Brett Hoebel and Cara Castronuova who join returning trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels — in an engaging new twist that has changed the game completely. Eleven teams of two came to the “Biggest Loser” ranch hoping to transform their bodies, their health and their lives.

TwoCents & Five Questions With Nigel Lythgoe (American Idol)

lythgoeNigel Lythgoe, American Idol Executive Producer

After two years away, Lythgow has returned to Idol and quickly made changes, including adding two new judges — Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. He spoke to us about how the new judges have revived this 10-year-old singing contest and put it back on the top of the ratings.

The TwoCents: The vibe of the show seems more positive, more supportive. Is that something that you were going for or is that something that unfolded organically from bringing Steve and Jennifer on as judges?

Figgins is having a fit about the binge drinking that’s taking place at the school, so he wants to host an alcohol-awareness week and he wants the Glee club to perform at the assembly. Will looks… thrilled.

Will and Emma let bygones be bygones and catch up a bit in the breakroom, when Sue comes in to rub it in his face that her Glee club is going to crush Will’s.  Very sporting, Sue!

Hope wakes up Jimmy, and he finds Burt hiding out from Maw Maw. Apparently she discovers her dead husband in the house on a regular basis, either Jimmy and Burt and it’s…unpleasant. lt’s also laugh out loud funny, and the show is off to a great start.

Jimmy’s on the phone the next morning, it’s Virginia’s cousin Delilah, played by the impeccable Amy Sedaris. Delilah is apparently the model child and Virginia’s arch-nemesis. And Virginia stole Burt from Delilah. And that’s just the beginning. Find out the rest of the story after the jump.

In real life, actions have consequences, but often in the world of television consequences are glossed over in favor of the next story. But Parenthood and the Braverman clan never shy away from fallout, which is a large part of what makes this show so engaging.

Tonight we begin the fallout of Crosby’s infidelity and Seth’s return, seeing how it truly affects those involved. And at the end of the hour, we are left with a revelation that leaves us viewers gasping from breath and anxiously awaiting next week’s episode.

Respect. Respect for the older American and respect for opposing gangs. This is what sums up last night’s episode from “Harry’s Law”.

Harry is asked to mediate an issue between two rival gangs. But when these two (or any for that matter) rival gangs come to the same table, there is bound to be trouble. Can Harry handle it? Apparently not.

This week’s Castle episode sets us up indeed as the first part of what promises to be an explosive double episode. The investigation into the death of a cabbie turns into a case fraught with danger and conspiracy. Hold onto your bio hazard suits and get ready for a story straight out of 24.

As the episode opens Castle is being escorted by two men in hazmat suits through a plastic maze. They usher him into a separate tent. He asks how serious it is his face bewildered and frightened. He turns and sees Beckett standing there. They share a long, tense look as if to ask: Are we going to survive?

Zounds of thanks to resident Snarky Queen Farrah for covering the last two weeks of this show. This week’s episode had a lot going on (is that ever not the case?), as Ade schemed to uncover who had cheated with Navid, Annie let herself get Single White Female-d all over the place, Emily (finally) revealed her true colors (and her non-metaphorical naked self) to Liam, and Ivy learned the important lesson that drugs make cute boys like you.
