A blackout occurs during a snowstorm and leaves us with two major storylines to follow. Of course neither one is about the case. We have Booth and Bones stuck in an elevator with Sweets trying to help on the outside. We also have Angela and Jack worrying about the health of the baby.

Let’s get started shall we? I have to say…this is one of my favorite episodes….I really enjoyed it! Let me also point out just how much I loved Cam’s new hairdo!

Custody Law and Eastern European Diplomacy

Hey, everyone! I’m covering all the Greendale hijinks for Meg this week and I couldn’t be more excited since things at Greendale are reaching the height of excitement! As Shirley’s due date gets closer every week, her ex-husband Andre is back for this episode and the babydaddy drama is at an all-time high with Chang trying to inch his way into her good graces with a “World’s Greatest Dad” stunt.

This episode asks the question, how low can Chang sink? Answer: very low. Britta’s new love interest, a student from Eastern-Europe and a new friend of Troy and Abed, turns out to be much more intense than she bargained for.

This… is… American Idol.  Tonight I’ll be filling in for vacationing recapper Patricia.  And someone’s journey will end tonight!

Last night brought us the time honored theme of “Songs From The Year You Were Born.” The performances, in my opinion, ranged from bizarre (Paul, Casey, Jacob, Naima) to bland (Haley, Thia, Karen), with a sprinkling of decent (James, Stefano, Lauren) and expected (Pia, Scotty).  But who will be leaving us tonight?

This episode was a little more fun than the last one. There’s no fire in the kitchen but then again, there’s also no kitchen. In the end, the person you thought would go home, does go home.

Quickfire
Lorena Garcia is the guest judge. The cheftestants have to pair off and then make 100 identical dishes in one hour that showcases consistency and precision. Padma and Lorena will taste plates picked at random.

The low down
This is an episode that sets things up for the future. You need episodes like this to get a pay off later. Now, that isn’t to say this isn’t an amusing episode because a few interesting and amusing things happen.

Pre-credits
There’s a nasty thunderstorm as Ometepe returns to their camp. Phillip is upset that Kristina was voted out since Rob said he wouldn’t do that but also didn’t like getting votes. He realizes he’s the odd man out.

The next morning, Rob solo-views that Phillip is aggravating everyone but that might be a good thing since no one is focusing on him.

parks and rec will be back next season

NBC has issued pickups for three returning comedy series in 2011-12 that include “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Community,” it was announced today by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.

“I am so pleased to renew these three outstanding comedies which are all at the top of their game creatively,” said Greenblatt. “Along with ’30 Rock,’ they represent the best of what the NBC comedy brand stands for in terms of originality, wit, and sophistication. ‘The Office’ continues to fire on all cylinders on the most competitive night of television; ‘Parks & Recreation’ has come into its own this season as the rightful companion to ‘The Office’; and ‘Community’ is one of the freshest comedies on any network and a solid foundation for Thursday night.”

For about half the contestants last night, pitch proved to be an elusive island in the Bermuda Triangle. But a few shaky performances also makes the voting easier, right?

Contestants sang songs from the year they were born (or, as we call it in my house, a chance to make us feel old). I loved showcasing the parents, especially the moms, in the pre-performance clips. A few made really strong choices, but some went from favorites to being in trouble and others proved why they’re a major contender.

Let’s look at how they did.

…Ashthon Jones, Realty Contestant

Last week, Ashthon Jones was the first to be voted off American Idol from the Top 13. She shares some of her thoughts and experiences with us.

The TwoCents: “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” is really not as obscure as some of the other songs the contestants chose. Do you now wish you’d chosen a different Diana Ross song?

Criminal Minds – Recap & Review – Lauren

This is the episode us Criminal Minds fans have been heavily anticipating. The general consensus seems to have been a mix of dread and excitement. What’s going to happen with Prentiss and Ian Doyle? How difficult are they going to make it for Prentiss to come back, should Paget Brewster’s NBC pilot not get picked up? How is JJ going to come into all of this? How awesome is Matthew Gray Gubler going to be directing (again)?

I found myself worried, hoping they were going to do Prentiss’ departure well, and excited at the same time to see JJ, even if it’s our last time. I know I wasn’t alone. We may not have beat out American Idol in last night’s ratings, but we came in a solid second.

Mr. Sunshine – Recap & Review – Lingerie Football

Mr. Sunshine
Lingerie Football

Original Air Date: Mar 16, 2011

Farrah Kaye – Sr. Editor
farrah@thetwocentscorp.com

Here’s my deal with Mr. Sunshine: it’s got an amazing cast but the writing is falling flat. Super flat. The stories have huge holes in them and even though I’ve watched every episode, there are certain pieces of information even I can’t remember ever seeing (because it never actually happened on screen).

The episodes are usually about Ben and the antics of the Sunshine Center. This week it gets switched up when Ben takes care of Crystal, who says she’s being audited. Roman and Heather share a moment (thanks to a lingerie football player) and Alonso and Alice are around too.
