Nothing is going to top last week’s results show. Nothing. That’s why they keep playing it over and over and over. In fact, now they have more behind-the-scenes footage of Casey losing it. (Should we be worrying about his mental health in addition to his stomach?)

Of course, because of the save last week, two would have to go home this week.

Timothy Hartley has been discovered in a field one hundred miles from his home, very dead — shot in the stomach and throat slit as well. Dr. Steiner, the coroner, is very touchy about his job and Jane — well, we all know Jane and how his hobby is basically “screwing with people.” He gives all information he can discern from a distance (which is the same he would be able to get from close, he assures us), in addition to the fact that there is a note in his pocket, which says: “Right now, you’re wondering ‘How the hell did Jane do that?'” (I have to confess — I am.)

Jane and Lisbon get a call; the body has been stolen from the van on its way back to civilization — and people immediately turn to figuratively and literally look at Jane. But our Apollonian trickster, Patrick Jane, had nothing to do with it and the body is now missing.

After that big build up with Prentiss’ story arc, and the emotional toll it took on a lot of fans, it’s probably a good thing that we got a week free of the show before coming back this week, just to process. I really thought it was going to be hard to watch, but thankfully they came back with a solid episode. The reminders that Prentiss was gone didn’t overshadow the case, and for that I’m thankful.

While I don’t like the major changes the show is pushing through, I have to admit that the writing has been good this season. Or maybe the major changes they’ve pushed thorough have caused me to lower my standards in keeping with CBS’s decisions. But I digress…

Well, it’s been a long voyage together but we’ve reached the end (if you don’t include next week where we talk about the voyage with rest of the cheftestants). So, hang in there with me as slog through this last episode, which, actually, was fun and featured a lot of really good food.

Oh and Richard cries but that was going to happen whether he won or loss, so it’s not a spoiler.

I chuckled a few times during this episode, and not because it was ending. Seriously.

For once, the problems of these loony tune people seemed a little bit more important. Roman wanted to prove himself in a real job. Crystal came to terms with the real meaning of friendship. Ben considered if he wanted Alice back. Alice dealt with Alonzo’s ex in their life, only to find his ex is still Mrs. Alonzo.

And not a Smurf in sight.

Tonight’s episode features the return of Jeremy Irons as Dr. Jackson, who once thought he may have raped his daughter but didn’t and is now a friend of the SVU. Elizabeth Mitchell of V also shows up as a piano teacher who…well, it’s complicated.

Two girls are running through the park. In typical show fashion, the dramatic feeling gives way to the revelation they’re just playing a game. But then they find a girl’s body in a suitcase. Soon after the detectives show up, the girl’s mother does as well.

As discussed in spoilers for a while now, Casey Novak returns this episode! And apparently everything’s about D.A.s this week, because a certain other character appears as well, from another subset of the Law & Order franchise.

A man breaks into a woman’s apartment, clearly about to rape her. Except he’s not really; it’s all self-defense training for a woman, Isabelle. Suddenly there’s a scream from another room. Isabelle’s roommate, Cat (Catherine), appears to have been raped.

The low down

Well, the David vs. Sarita thing that’s been brewing reaches its boiling point! I know! It IS as exciting as it sounds! Also, someone continues his Redemption Island dominance but I won’t spoil it by mentioning Matt’s name.

Oh and Rob tosses Phillip into a volcano. Wait, no, Rob tossed a useless clue into a volcano not a useful clueless person. My mistake.
