Wanda Sykes Drops In on Diva!

wanda sykes

The latest news on Season 3 of Drop Dead Diva is their latest fabulous guest star: the very funny Wanda Sykes. Sykes, previously seen on The New Adventures of Old Christine, will be playing a judge in Episode 6 of the season, according to the Diva blog. The episode is inspired by a story you may have heard: a lesbian student, Constance McMillen, was not permitted to take her girlfriend to prom, successfully sued the school, but was led to a separate prom by classmates and administrators. Sykes joins Wendy Williams, Tony Goldwyn (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), and Ben Shenkman (Damages, Lights Out) on the list of upcoming guest appearances for the show, which will air new episodes in June.

My TwoCents: I am excited to see this episode play out, and more excited that Sykes, who came out publicly in 2008, is a part of it. Her style of humor is perfect for a sassy judge role, where she and Jane will reportedly bump heads on the case.

A lot of conclusion occurred last week – mostly of minor characters. R.I.P. Marcos, Rebecca and elders of whom I do not know how else to identify you.

This week’s episode prepares us for the first season finale by giving us another chapter in the Aiden/Bishop saga along with a bit of closure for one of the roommates. It’s the penultimate episode of the season folks, so let’s dive in!

It’s story night, but this season there’s a little twist. Not only will the stars tell their personal story, but they got to choose the song they wanted to dance to.

There was a mix of dances, as they had to fit they style of music chosen. However, we still ended up with five Rumbas – not my favorite, but at least they’re out of the way early in the season.

Pizza is serious business in New York. It can apparently lead to broken windows, soap in the sauce, flaming bags of doggie doo, and murder! And more pseudo-Nicks than you can shake your parmesan cheese at.

An odd mixture of an episode for certain, where we leapt from pizza-silly to heroin dealing, and threw in a dash of teenage girl drama thrown in for good measure. Let’ get down to (pizza) business now, shall we?

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.

So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

#1 Monday, April 4 – 10:00PM ET – NBC – Harry’s Law I am looking forward to this show but sad because it is the season finale. It has been a good show with the hilarious Kathy Bates. She seems to be successful running her own law practice/shoe store. If you haven’t watched this show yet, then the name, Kathy Bates should make you watch this hilarious finale!

After another long break, the housewives are back. You may remember that Susan still needs a kidney and that in the last episode Beth Young was discovered to be a match. Beth went to the hospital with her transplant papers and a gun with which she shot herself in the head.

We pick up this episode with both Susan and Paul getting the good and bad news respectively.

CSI:NY – Recap & Review – Identity Crisis

Identity Crisis

Maria – Sr. Reviewer

The episode starts with a “little old man” being murdered after being spotted on the subway. This episode is a little different, because the audience gets to see the murderer from the start and it clearly wasn’t premeditated. This episode dwells on the identity of the “victim” and of a very special witness, Jo Danville’s adopted daughter, Ellie Danville, played by the amazing Sydney Park.

Jo Danville doesn’t even know why her daughter was on the train when she should have been at school.
