Top Chef
Reunion Special

Original Air Date: Apr 6, 2011

Ryan O – Senior Reviewer

Here we are at the always unfulfilling reunion special. Questions you want answered will go unasked. Awkward things will happen. There will be clips from the past season. Oh yes. There will be clips. Andy Cohen is here to lead us through the hour.

We review the finale and Richard says he was in shock when he won. He was ready to be gracious and congratulate Mike.

Tom says it came down to which meal he’d rather eat again. Gail, again, mentions the pepperoni sauce that Mike made. She said she took the most convincing.

Survivor – Recap & Review – This Game Respects Big Moves

Survivor
This Game Respects Big Moves

Original Air Date: Apr 6 , 2011

Ryan O – Senior Reviewer
ryano@thetwocentscorp.com

The low down
Two things that we have been waiting to happen for a few episodes finally happen: the Redemption Island victor returns to the game and the merge. Some things that we weren’t waiting for and didn’t expect also happened, including Matt not having a fundamental understanding of the game. And one thing is dangled in front of us, so tantalizing, but then it disappears like one of those tiny crabs Phillip hunts with a huge spear.

Pre-credits
Zapatera. Night 18. The tribe returns. For whatever reason, David immediately forgives Ralph for voting for him. He says he understands and it’s no big deal. It’s only a big deal if you say David can’t perform under pressure.

Justified – Recap & Review – Brother’s Keeper

Justified
Brother’s Keeper

Original Air Date: Apr 6, 2011

Lyssa G – TwoCents Reviewer
Lyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

Last week was the perfect way to show someone exactly what Justified is about. This week was no different. It had the perfect amount of the Southern elegance as well as some great dramatic moments that some of us had to turn our heads in fear. This show is real to life, they are things that you could actually see happening, and the part that makes it such a great watch is that it is believable.

Mags and Loretta are like two peas in a pod right here at the beginning. She says that she has always wanted a girl and always had boys. This was where we saw a blunt and in out face demonstration of how Mags prefers Loretta over her own sons. When Coover walked in on them getting ready for the party and his own mother kicks him out, we really see that as the reason that Coover is the way he is.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Top 9

American Idol
Top 9

Original Air Date: Apr 6, 2011

Could this be the Strongest Top 9 ever? There really isn’t one bad singer in the bunch. It really comes down to who is your flavor and the judges have done a great job of giving us lots of flavors.

We start by hearing that Gwen Stefani is dressing the contestants from her fashion line. We get one tiny glimpse of her face and it’s never mentioned again, which, after seeing some of the outfits, might be a good thing.

Tonight’s theme is the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. Steven walks us verbally through the hall, showing us his bust and clothes. It’s a nice connection. Plus, Jimmy Iovine is joined by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas in coaching the singers.

The Good Wife – Recap & Review – Wrongful Termination

Wrongful Termination

This show has always had the best actors, but now it has the best toys. I so want that talking lion that attaches to a phone. It’s been buzzed about all day on the internet and it’s now on my birthday list!

While a lot of good things happened during this episode, it really worked as a countdown to when Alicia will find out about Kalinda and Peter’s little extramarital peekaboo. Tick, tick, tick….boom?

NCIS – Recap & Review – Two-Faced

NCIS
Tell-All

Original Air Date: Apr 5, 2011

Maria – Sr. Reviewer
maria@thetwocentscorp.com

The episode starts with Ziva walking in, talking on the phone to her boyfriend, clearly very happy. She openly admits that she misses him too before hanging up. McGee and DiNozzo have overheard most of that and McGee seems happy for her. DiNozzo looks to have a blush upon his cheeks, especially when Ziva mentions his “special somebody”. The romantic interrogation is cut short by a classic Gibbs entrance, where he sneaks up behind DiNozzo whilst DiNozzo talks ad nauseum about the man. There’s a dead body to investigate.

The body is dressed to appear a different rank from what the Marine actually is. There’s also a carefully placed Metro card in the lapel and the victim’s eyeballs have been physically adjusted, all pointing towards DC.

Parenthood – Recap & Review – New Plan

Parenthood
New Plan

Original Air Date: Apr 5, 2011

One of the best things about the Parenthood is that the parents on the show actually seem to remember their childhoods. So many television shows give us family units where the adults live in a bubble, not drawing from their own life experiences. The Braverman family is all about their own cumulative life events guiding the way they pass on their knowledge to their children.

However, the adults themselves are still works in progress. Sarah is forever finding herself, Crosby is still atoning, Adam is tightly wound, and Julia is dealing with plan-altering news. But, most importantly, it’s PROM TIME!

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 3 Results

Dancing with the Stars
Week 3 Results

Original Air Date: Apr 5, 2011

Annette: Associate Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

Story night was fairly successful (aside from the spill that Maks took). Lots of good dancing, and some very touching, personal stories.

The leader board is pretty tight. Nine of the ten stars are separated by only 5 points. Unfortunately, poor Wendy Williams is at the bottom of the leader board 10 points from the top. So who went home?
