After a long break, Brothers and Sisters comes back with not just one, but two episodes for us to enjoy.

The first episode has two stories for us to follow. The first is about Olivia, whose brother shows up out of nowhere. The second is all about Kitty and Seth, with a meddling Sarah and a side of Luc (playing the role of underwear model). Ah, how I’ve missed the crazy Walker family.

The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business – Recap & Review – You Don’t Get Paid Unless You Winn (Varanasi, India)

The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business
You Don’t Get Paid Unless You Winn (Varanasi, India)

Original Air Date: Apr 10, 2011

I love The Amazing Race. Love it. But the downfall to Unfinished Business is the constant flashbacks. Every week, at least one team has an “omg” moment flashback to something from their season. Whether it’s to “we’re headed to the place we got eliminated” or “this is similar to where we made a huge mistake on our season,” we get flashbacks like crazy.

What I do love this second time around is watching how far some of the contestants have grown. Zev, for example, has come so far in since his season. I don’t think he could have dealt with so much time in India last time around. Then there are those that have had zero change (like Ron).

Anyhoo, with that, I give to you …

TwoCents & Five Questions With Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice)

campbell

Bruce Campbell, actor

On April 17th Bruce will be starring in a movie about Sam Axe BEFORE our Burn Notice time. We will be able to get a little back story on Sam and it is crucial to watch before going into season 5 of Burn Notice.

Recently, TTC was a part of an interview with the film’s star. Let me just say, listening to Bruce is just like sitting and listening to Sam. He seems so much like his character.

TwoCents & Five Questions With The Cast Of Drew Carey’s Improv-a-ganza

sherwood, brady, and mangum

I’m a comedy geek, and I’m proud of it. I love stand up, and I love to hear what my favorite funny people are up to. So when I heard that Drew Carey was giving us a new improv show, I jumped at the chance to talk to the cast.

Drew Carey’s Improv-a-ganza is a brand new show on GSN, filmed live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and staring Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Jonathan Mangum, and Kathy Kinney, who all took the time to talk to us. They are joined on stage by Drew Carey, Wayne Brady, Chip Esten, Brad Sherwood, and other familiar faces of the improv circuit. Those of you who know what funny is will remember them from Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the originally British improv show that first graced America’s TVs from 1998-2004. If you didn’t catch it during it’s original run, it’s still airing now in reruns on ABC Family. You really need to watch it sometime. It cures cancer.

Okay, maybe not cancer, but it cures a frown, and makes any mood you’re in a little brighter. In my opinion, that’s worth a lot. Hopefully Improv-a-ganza can do the same… Now if only I could get them to get rid of my debt collectors…

Q: Can you give us some details on what we can expect from ‘Improv-a-ganza’ and how it’s different from ‘Who’s Line is it Anyway’?

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.

So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

#1 Monday, April 11 – 6:00PM ET – Ovation – Fame (Ebenezer Morlach) Before there was Glee, before there were musical episodes of Buffy and Grey’s Anatomy, there was the High School For The Performing Arts.  Relive the 80’s classic (fashion, mullets, and random dance performances) with these classic reruns on cable network Ovation. And always remember: “ You want fame? … Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying. With sweat.”

History Embarks On Four Year Educational And Fundraising Initiative

history will begin to teach

In concert with its ambitious four-year programming commitment to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, HISTORY is launching a massive educational and fund-raising initiative to enhance Civil War education nationwide, and to protect and preserve battlefields and other key sites from this pivotal period in American history, it was announced today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager, HISTORY.

The GIVE 150 program invites Americans to make contributions – be it as much as $150 or as little as $1.50 – to a cause that will keep us from losing touch with our past. By protecting and maintaining these locations and landmarks, by insuring that they continue to have a physical presence, future generations will be able to have a tactile understanding of Civil War history.

Last week, Linda was kidnapped. This week, we get more Linda when her niece is the star of a fashion show. Of course it’s not that simple with the Reagan family when she collapses and slips into a coma.

In other news, Jamie tries to find out more about Lydia and Frank deals with a church scandal (sort of). According to Donnie Wahlberg’s live tweets, the season finale (May 13th), will complete the Blue Templar story, but if you see how far Jamie gets tonight, I’m not sure how that will happen so fast.

Last week, Fiona figured out she was a lesbian. Sort of. She discovered she loved Holly J which we’ll assume means she is a lesbian. However, she still has never dealt with the Adam situation she left behind before rehab.

Alli has decided to have all the grade 10s pass the standardized math test no matter what she has to do and Anya has a creeper lurking in the form of Owen. Let’s check out what happens with our favorite Canadian teens in the conclusion of these storylines as In Too Deep wraps up.

CSI:NY – Recap & Review – Food for Thought

photo: cbs

CSI:NY
Food for Thought

Original Air Date: Apr 08, 2011

Maria – Sr. Reviewer
maria@thetwocentscorp.com

The episode starts with Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on a date. His date will appear familiar to avid CSI:NY fans because he’s actually dating Camille who appeared in Smooth Criminal, five episodes ago. Camille certainly has Sheldon wrapped around her finger as he’s called in sick for the day, when he’s actually at a food festival. Camille is trying to get him to try new foods. It looks like her efforts are a success. Suddenly, one of the food vans explodes!

Sheldon and Camille are fine. In fact, only one guy died. Derby Chasen was the sole casualty from what turns out to be a home-made explosive. Other pieces found about the case are: a food carton with something written on the inside; an unusual and fresh contusion on the victim’s body which was remarkably shielded by his rubber apron; and the fact that the propane tank looks as if it had the makeshift bomb glued onto it. How will these pieces fit together?
