Welcome Gleeks! This week we have more nose job talk than Extreme Makeover. But we also have some actual development in this season’s long running bully arc. Was it completely resolved? Of course not, this is Glee!

Tonight was the much-hyped second Lady Gaga episode, but I’ll tell you right off the bat that there was only one Gaga song to be had this evening. And what an evening it was. Was it perfect? Of course not, this is Glee! So let’s discuss what worked and what didn’t work in this extra-long, jam packed episode.

Dancing with the Stars – Recap & Review – Week 6 Results

Dancing with the Stars
Week 6 Results

Original Air Date: Apr 26, 2011

Is ABC hurting for programming so badly that they have to drag out the results for two hours? The first hour is “The Road to the Finals.” The remaining dancers were critiqued and discussed by the judges and some of the finalists from the first 11 seasons.

We finally get to the eliminations in the second hour along with a lot more filler. This is the time of the competition where it starts to get hard to see people go and with the leader board so tight it could be anyone.

The Young and the Reckless

Ben has 15 minutes to go before the biggest speech of his life. So why is he just running into the lobby with no pants on?

Well, it all starts because Ben, who apparently hasn’t seen the last 9 episodes, is still trying to impress Kate by being spontaneous and skipping work to go on adventures – something he never does. First, Ben and Kate go to Coney Island and Kate barfs on him. Needing to prove herself un-barfy, she decides to take Ben on a spur-of-the-moment outing on what is allegedly the Staten Island Ferry. I say “allegedly”, because as they are able to linger in a sparkling, uncrowded docking area, I have to wonder what Staten Island Ferry this is. (It’s ok, people, I snark with love.)

Last week we saw Tara struggling to keep her life on track. With the classes she’s taking, the stress of Charmaine and her new baby, and the Alters, she had a lot on her plate.

This week, we find out how Tara and the other Alters are taking to the new contract they made during their War Room peace treaty conference.

It’s Guilty Pleasures night. It’s all about the music that no one wants to admit they like. To kick off the evening, Hanson is in the house to sing their hit “MMMBop.” They continued to perform between dances singing some other guilty pleasure hits – my favorite was “Ice, Ice, Baby.”

Performance night brought yet another dance floor catastrophe and the 10 paddle came out not once, but twice. Read on to find out who scored big, and who fell (literally and figuratively).

We’re nearing the end of the season, fellow Gossip Girl fans, and things are starting to get messy. Last week, we were led to believe that Dan and Blair were over but are they? This week, we get other twists in their ongoing saga.

Chuck gets down a very familiar road and Charlie adapts pretty well to the Upper East Side life…And most importantly, whose idea was it exactly to put all of these women in bright pink?

TTC Weekly Picks April 25 – May 1

April 25 – May 1

Meg – Staff Writer
meg@thetwocentscorp.net

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.

So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

#1 Tuesday, April 26 – 8:00PM ET – FOX – Glee (Born this Way) – Has Glee gone Gaga before? Yes. Has Glee gone Gaga in a special 90-minute spectacular extravaganza? No, and it’s about dang time! The Gleeks once again embrace Lady Gaga – focusing on her new hit “Born this Way” to help them buid confidence. That’s probably a good gamble, considering Gaga isn’t exactly lacking in the confidence department.

glee goes gaga again

We’re down to the Final Six. Again. After last week’s non-elimination leg, the teams head off to Switzerland via Liechtenstein with both a Speed Bump (for Mallory and Gary) and a Double U-Turn looming. And with that, I give you…

The Top 6 Things I Learned From The Amazing Race

1. Zev and Justin: A pot of cheese can kill a grown man. Some Detours are obviously not good. Especially if there was a food Detour on the last leg that NO ONE was able to finish. I guess Z&J don’t learn. This time around, the teams had to choose between Cheese (finishing off an entire meal of cheese fondue) or Wheeze (delivering 20 pieces of luggage to 5 different hotels). Z&J chose Cheese and found themselves throwing up on the balcony of a quaint little Swiss chateau. That is classy. Zev pushed Justin through, and they actually finished the task. They got to the Pit Stop (the Moos Restaurant) in first place again, winning a trip for two to the Caribbean (although a lifetime supple of cheese would have been funnier).

It’s all about loyalty this week on Desperate Housewives.  Loyalty to friends, to spouses, and even to enemies.

Let’s pick up where we left off last week:  Susan continues her remarkably speedy recovery from transplant surgery.  Carlos is still furious with Bree and Lynette is still being a lousy wife.
