Standards are low in East Dillon, where Rally Girls turn into embarrassing internet stars overnight, and football players rest on their laurels to keep themselves out of trouble. Have no fear – the Taylors are here! Too bad they couldn’t also be with Julie, who could have used their help to avoid a pretty intense indiscretion with her cute TA.

Oh well, there’s only so much you can do without a cape…

Fringe – Recap & Review – The Last Sam Weiss

Fringe
The Last Sam Weiss

Original Air Date: Apr 29, 2011

Have I ever mentioned that I don’t entirely trust Sam Weiss? Well, I don’t. And judging by the title of this episode, perhaps I can put the suspicion to rest… or confirm it. If you’ll remember from last week, Peter got his socks shocked off the the Doomsday Machine. He is now in a hospital in a coma. Walter being Walter is only looking at the cup-half-empty of the situation and refuses to leave Peter’s bedside… until Astrid mentions that the cafeteria has tapioca pudding.

In Holyoake, Massachusetts, a family traveling by car (to the tune of Riders on the Storm by the Doors, no less) experiences some weird Fringe-y-ness. The car in front of them gets struck by lightning and flips. Then another strike happens right next to their car. They back up a bit and the father gets out to investigate. Has he never watched Fringe? You never get out to investigate! He climbs up an overpass and sees a line of cars down the freeway being struck by lightning, along with other strikes happening throughout the valley.

CSI:NY – Recap & Review – Nothing for Something

CSI:NY
Nothing for Something

Original Air Date: Apr 29, 2011

Maria – Sr. Reviewer

It starts with the corpse of a young woman. Ants and insects are feasting on the blood. Then the scene rewinds to her being dumped there. After a cut, it rewinds to her and a man making out on the bed, playing out the scene in reverse, so it shows them dressing each-other before going back to the bar where they first met. The audience knows who the killer is, but how will the CSIs? This case can’t be that simple.

Wow. Just…what the Cas just happened? Two very major plotlines got their day in the sun, so to speak, and while one ended with barely a whimper, the other made me squeal because of the sheer potential of it all. This entire episode could be summed up in one word: misdirection. While not exactly shocking per se, the ending had me start having a little more faith in Gamble & Co. Oh did I mention Dean makes a discovery, and doesn’t name his find after himself? Or someone from the mullet rock catalogue?

Read on after the jump for my take on Mommy!

Kill or be killed. When Oliver and Clark become trapped in The Phantom Zone with a villain from their past, they are forced to fight to the death. The friends would never hurt one another would they? Will Oliver fight the darkness inside of him or allow it to come out in order to survive? Will Clark be able to get home without his powers? Get ready for one awesome episode in the style of Gladiator and 300.

Whose side will you pick, Clark or Oliver? We are down to just two episodes before the series finale!

This week we get to see the old Jeff and let me tell you…he is one hunky guy…that is , several years ago. Not that Patrick Warburton isn’t still good looking, but this is a buff Jeff and Jeff misses how he use to be and tries to get healthy again. As for Russ, he finally deals with a dry spell with the ladies. In my opinion…it’s about time.

30 Rock – Recap & Review – Everything Sunny All the Time Always

After what has been a great season five for 30 Rock, we’ve finally arrived at the penultimate episode and lots of plot lines are being laid out in preparation for the finale. With Avery on business in Beijing, Jack is left taking care of baby Liddy all by himself (or, as we see, the help of a couple of nannies doesn’t hurt, either). Liz has long been obsessed with her job as head writer of TGS, sacrificing any semblance of a life in order to make sure they deliver a successful show, week in, week out. Tonight, we saw her attempt to spread her wings and take control of her personal life. In Tracy’s world, he’s finally back on set after a long absence but he’s less than thrilled when he realizes his entourage was doing just fine without him.

Plus, we see Jack revisit one of his former flames and I think you’ll all agree it’s a big one!

This week the Hellcats trade in their Rah-Rah-Rah for a little more Ohh-La-La. Sex and scandal abound when a new Athletic Director catches Vanessa Red-handed, Alice and Lewis begin to realize they may only have eyes for each other, and Marti and Julian… er, “team up” in the cheating case.

The Office – Recap & Review – Goodbye Michael

The Office
Goodbye Michael

Original Air Date: Apr 22, 2011

Rachel – Senior Managing Editor
rachel@thetwocentscorp.com

Where does one go to acclimate to the altitude of Colorado? The roof of the Scranton Business Park, of course! Michael is sitting on the roof reminiscing when Dwight shows up with a nice plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters. Not cool. Dwight is still bitter about being passed up for Michael’s job. Michael explains that it was not his job to give and then changes the subject… to bears. He asks Dwight how he can avoid them in Colorado. This makes Dwight feel a bit more needed, but it’s clear that Dwight is actually upset about Michael leaving. Like all of us.

Back inside, and in preparation for his departure the next day, Michael gives out parting nifty-gifties. He starts with Phyllis, giving her the chatty teeth from his desk, telling her that she needs to speak up more. To Stanley he gives his mini pool table (sans balls), also from his desk. Stanley is not impressed. To Andy, he bequeaths all of his clients. Andy flat-out states that he is the worst salesman and will promptly lose them all. But Michael has faith in him.
