Welcome to the wedding of Sarah Walker and Luc Laurent. In true Brothers & Sisters fashion, you are cordially invited to witness drama, misunderstandings, questionable fashion sense, and alcohol consumption. Although not everybody was drinking the famous red wine this hour…

This may or may not be the final episode of the series. There’s online speculation that the show could return next year with a limited run. But the question remains, is there more Walker story to tell?

The Chicago Code – Season Recap

Lyssa G – Reviewer
Lyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

Starting out a little late this season, but this show has such an amazing story it would be crazy not to cover it. This show has the different aspects of the police force in Chicago, it shows the crime and corruption in the city as well as in the different offices.

It praises the men that are fighting to protect the city, and has just enough of an attitude to truly put this in the same category as The Shield.

The Characters:

JAREK WYSOCKI: Honestly can be considered the main character of this show. He is one of the main cops that we follow on the show. He and his partner are very close to the superintendent. He is divorced and engaged with a son, while still making time with his ex-wife. Also what he will not allow you to forget is that he is a White Sox fan.

Doctor Who – Recap & Review – The Curse of the Black Spot

Doctor Who
The Curse of the Black Spot

This episode will forever be known as the Doctor Who with pirates, but does it live up to that title? Oh yes, and much much more. A “curse”? Check. Sea monster? Check, with an added twisty flourish. Pirate treasure? Yep, and it is part of the plot. A storm? Yep, one that made me glad to be safe and warm inside. And most of all, there’s Amy in all the pirate get-up and waving a sword around. Of course, there’s more to it than that.

CSI:NY – Recap & Review – Life Sentence

Life Sentence

This is the second of a two-parter which involves Detective Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise); the man he helped put away seventeen years ago Raymond Harris; and Mac’s ex-partner, Wild Bill Hunt who also helped to put Harris away (Peter Fonda). Cop, ex-cop and criminal… yet somehow, I get the feeling that some lines are going to be crossed.

Fringe – Recap & Review – The Day We Died

Fringe
The Day We Died

Original Air Date: May 6, 2011

Fringe has once again succeeded in breaking by brain. I’m convinced that this episode is going to take multiple watchings (guess what I’m doing tonight!) to understand. I decided to sleep on it before writing my Recap/Review, but as it stands, my broken still brain. Did I mention the usually blue or red opening credits were gray? Yep.

Last week’s episode ended with Peter waking up in May of 2026. His confusion was short lived (unlike mine) and he just picked up his life as normal. He doesn’t remember saying that he was “from the past” and his receding hairline can prove it. Peter is currently an FBI Agent working for the Fringe Division and married to Olivia, the FD Director. Little Ella is all grown up and a new FD recruit, Walter is in prison for starting this whole kerfuffle, Broyles is a senator with a glass eye, and Astrid has straight hair.

This week, a new character makes his way to Dillon, Becky finds a home, Vince tries to send his dad packing, and Coach Taylor and his crew take their comedy show on the road. Well, maybe that last bit isn’t true, but it should be.

High stress and hilarity ensue – just another week in Dillon, Texas.

KPonTV on Growing Pains Season 2 on DVD

photo: warner bros.

Growing Pains is one of those shows EVERYONE watched in the 80s. We still watch on repeats and now Season 2 is available on DVD.

This season has a lot of episodes I still remember very clearly. Ben’s carnival where he’s ignored and goes home to do shots of milk while Frank Sinatra plays on the radio, Mike and Maggie being grounded together, Jason’s reunion with his old band when Mike fills in on keyboards singing “Old Time Rock N’ Roll”, Carol’s nose-job desires and the “very special episodes” that include Ben bringing home the homeless girl on Christmas and Mike showing up at a party with cocaine.

Unfortunately, 1985 was a time before special features for a DVD were thought of, so there aren’t any. However, it’s a nice trip down nostalgia road.

Supernatural – Recap & Review – The Man Who Would Be King

Supernatural
The Man Who Would Be King

Original Air Date: May 6, 2011

Alyssa Silva – TwoCents Reviewer
alyssa@thetwocentscorp.com

My heart broke when I watched this episode. I wanted to reach through the screen and hug Castiel for all his little vessel was worth. Alot of holes were filled in the mythology, and in a way I believe it was a befitting tribute to a character that has been entirely shaped and moulded by his interaction with Dean and Sam. The Winchesters have started Castiel down a path that he finds himself lost, and now it seems our favourite angel can no longer answer perhaps the most complex (or simplest if you believe Crowley) of questions: Who are you?
