TBS & TNT Announce Their Fall Lineups

tnt & tbs

TNT and TBS, which staged their Upfront presentation today in New York, are making bold moves to bolster their remarkably strong foundations in original programming. The networks are developing extensive new lineups of scripted and unscripted series and making a new push into half-hour comedy in partnership with some of the top talents in the industry, from award-winning actors to acclaimed producers, writers and best-selling authors.

This year marks the beginning of production of the final season of the blockbuster hit The Closer, starring Emmy® winner Kyra Sedgwick. TNT confirmed today that it has ordered a 10-episode season of Major Crimes, a series set in the Los Angeles Police Department that promises to become television’s next great crime drama. The seventh and final season of The Closer will include 15 episodes in 2011 and six in summer 2012, leading into the launch of Major Crimes, starring Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica). McDonnell has been featured on The Closer as Capt. Raydor, who was often on a collision course with Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, played by Sedgwick. Major Crimes will be executive-produced by James Duff, creator of The Closer, along with Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin. Major Crimes and The Closer come to TNT from Warner Bros. Television.

UNFORGETTABLE
CBS
Stars Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells, an enigmatic former police detective with a rare condition that makes her memory so flawless that every place, every conversation, every moment of joy and every heartbreak is forever embedded in her mind. It’s not just that she doesn’t forget anything – she can’t; except for one thing: the details that would help solve her sister’s long-ago murder. Carrie has tried to put her past behind her, but she’s unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh), when she consults on a homicide case. His squad includes Det. Mike Costello (Michael Gaston), Al’s right-hand man; Detective Roe Saunders (Kevin Rankin), the junior member of the team; and Detective Nina Inara (Daya Vaidya), a sassy, street-smart cop. Being back on the job after a break feels surprisingly right for Carrie.

Despite her conflicted feelings for Al, she decides to permanently join his unit as a detective solving homicides – most notably, the unsolved murder of her sister. All she needs to do is remember. Ed Redlich, John Bellucci, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are executive producers for Sony Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

CBS Announces 2011/2012 Schedule

coming to cbs this fall...

CBS announced today its new 2011-2012 primetime schedule, ordering five new series and making key time-period moves for CSI and THE GOOD WIFE to strengthen its already top-rated primetime lineup. CBS will, once again, finish the season as America ‘s most watched network, marking the eighth time it has done so in the last nine years.

The new series include three new dramas and two new comedies: PERSON OF INTEREST, a crime thriller from renowned executive producer J.J. Abrams starring Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson; UNFORGETTABLE, starring Dylan Walsh and Poppy Montgomery as a former detective with a rare condition that enables her to remember virtually every detail from every day of her life; A GIFTED MAN about a preeminent surgeon whose life changes forever when his deceased ex-wife returns, starring Patrick Wilson and Jennifer Ehle; 2 BROKE GIRLS, a comedy about two strikingly different young waitresses who form an unlikely friendship, starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs; and an odd-couple comedy, HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN, starring David Hornsby and Kevin Dillon, about a refined magazine columnist and his very unrefined personal trainer.

The freshman series will be joined by 19 returning shows, including the season’s #1 drama/scripted series, NCIS; #1 comedy, THE BIG BANG THEORY; #1 news magazine, 60 MINUTES; # 1 new comedy, MIKE & MOLLY; along with two franchise reality series, SURVIVOR and the seven-time Emmy Award winner, THE AMAZING RACE.

Biggest Loser
Week 20

Original Air Date: May 17, 2011

Anne – Associate Editor
anne@thetwocentscorp.com

Here we are, one week away from the finale. The remaining four contestants, Irene, Jay, Hannah, and Olivia, have one more week to get through on campus until they head home. Who will be the top two? Who will be the two that America needs to choose between for the third finalist? And will anyone bring up the fact that Brett and Cara have nobody representing them in the final four? We find out all that, plus much more on the penultimate episode of The Biggest Loser.

Immediately after Austin’s elimination, our gang starts celebrating that they made it to the end. There are three girls, could this be another season of a female winner? I’m sure that Jay will have a lot to say about that one! Olivia and Hannah can hardly believe that they are still in the game together. I am not overly fond of either one of them, but I hope that they can make the finals together. Read on to see if their wish comes true.

Did you know that Maw Maw and Jimmy share a birthday? That kind of sucks for Jimmy, especially as a kid, but now Jimmy has more friends and he can enjoy it more. As extra special gift to us we get a flashback to five years ago. Maw Maw is lucid, Virginia and Burt (who is a wearing “I’d Rather be in Virginia” haha) are still awesome and Jimmy is channeling The Raven. He wants to be called Drakkar Noir and is incredibly angsty. Sabrina has braces, Barney is fat, Frank has insane side burns, and Shelley is still pretty awesome.

As her “birthday surprise” Maw Maw kicks Virginia, Burt and Jimmy out of her house. Oh boy!

So, it seems like Will is capable of making bigger mistakes than his choice in hairstyles (sorry, I’m channeling Sue). He’s allowed Jesse to become the Glee club consultant. He wants to build the show around one star performer, and they’re going to hold auditions to see who that is.

Sue has her henchman break into Figgins’ email account to change the Glee club’s flight to route through Libya. She’s crabby today!

Dancing with the Stars
Semi-Finals Results

Original Air Date: May 17, 2011

Annette: Associate Staff Writer
annette@thetwocentscorp.com

Another two hour results tonight. First up: Freestyle Special. Former champs and runners-up were on hand to watch and talk about their freestyles. Also, the semi-finalists talked a little bit about their freestyles next week.

Hour two was the typical results show: Musical guests, dancing by pros, but no Macy’s Stars of Dance this week. That left a lot of time for filler interviews by Brooke.

The end has come ladies and gents, and the season finale of season 3 of Castle definitely delivers. Kate Beckett throws herself back into the case of her mother’s murder, systematically chasing dead end leads in hopes of discovering the reason and the man behind it all.

Those who love her worry for her safety. Is her mother’s death worth more than her own life? The finale brings with it a shocking betrayal and game changing plot twist, a long awaited declaration, a heart-rending death and one killer of a cliffhanger that leaves you screaming for season 4.

Chuck Versus The Cliffhanger

Original Air Date: May 16, 2011

Jeff L – Staff Writer
JeffL@thetwocentscorp.com

Last week, you’ll recall, Sarah was zapped by the Norseman device. The device as we’ve seen normally kills its victims immediately. But when she unleashed the device to devastate Chuck, Vivian Volkoff didn’t expect Sarah to have not one, but two “Awesome” doctors on hand to save her life. Chuck, Ellie, and Awesome rush Sarah to the hospital and douse her in an ice bath to slow her racing heart.

With Sarah unconscious, Chuck turns to Casey they need to break Volkoff out of prison. It’s their only hope of saving Sarah but CIA Agent Decker has a Burn Notice on not only Volkoff himself but all of Operation Bartowski. In this case a Burn Notice doesn’t mean they plan on dropping Chuck and his team in Miami with no cash, not credit, no job history – they plan on killing everyone. I guess General Grandma was on vacation when this decision was made.
