After weeks of injuries, falls, jives, surprise eliminations, sequins, and more fringe than thought to exist, we’re finally here! Tonight, three couples remain to vie for the coveted mirror ball trophy! Who will win?

We’ve got youthful Chelsea Kane (Disney princess) and Mark Ballas, wise cracking Kirstie Alley (Televison Icon) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and cool Hines Ward (Hero of the Gridiron) and Kym Johnson all competing tonight. With the anything goes free-style, it’s still almost anyone’s game to win or lose. So sit back, grab your home paddles, and let the shimmying, shaking, and lifts begin!

Game of Thrones – Recap & Review – A Golden Crown

Game of Thrones
A Golden Crown

Original Air Date: May 22, 2011

Meg – Staff Writer

In the Game of Thrones, there’s a vast difference between what’s right and what’s smart. Ned and Cat try, in their own ways, to follow the rules—despite the fact that they are the only ones playing by them. In King’s Landing, the chasm widens between how Ned thinks things should be and how they actually are. Elsewhere, Tyrion cracks me up, Joffrey remains a petulant whelp , Dany eats a non-metaphorical heart (ew), and Viserys finally gets his crown.

It’s always interesting when we get a former criminal as a witness, but add a teenage daughter and a couple twists and we have ourselves an interesting episode full of lies on top of more lies. And that’s not just with our witness of the week.

First we have to go back to San Francisco in 1995, where drug dealer Sharon was detained after a raid of the Yakuza drug and rave ring. In present day, Sharon is now married and a PTA mom of 16 year old Beth who participates in beauty pageants. Life is all hunky dory until she sends Mary a text marked “urgent.”

TTC Weekly Picks May 23 – May 29

May 23 – 29

Jules – TwoCents Reviewer
Jules@thetwocentscorp.com

Every week, the staff at TheTwoCents will be posting their top picks for viewing. They won’t always be the top shows of the week, but the programs that each writer is most looking forward to checking out that week.

So, set your DVRs, watch, and then come back here to discuss how the picks worked out for you.

#1 Monday-Wednesday, May 23-25 – Check Local Listings – The Oprah Winfrey Show (Surprise, Oprah! And Finale)
The ultimate finale episodes in my book this week. Monday and Tuesday will feature the surprise and farewell spectacular and on Wednesday, we bid The Oprah Show adieu after 25 years of being in our daytime living rooms. As a fan of Oprah since I was young, it’ll be hard to say goodbye to something so familiar at the end of the day. So expect the tissue tally to be high for all three episodes.

don't go!

It’s the first of a Doctor Who two-parter: A brand new story that is quite classic Who. Unsure about Amy’s pregnancy, the Doctor tries to drop Amy and Rory off, but a solar storm hits before he can. The TARDIS is sent to Earth and lands on an island in the near future, where people are using their programmable dopplegangers, or gangers, to mine acid. The solar flare gives the gangers more life than their human counterparts are used to and they don’t like it. Can the Doctor be the one to broker peace?

Fans are pretty much split 50/50 on this finale. I, for one, am satisfied. Yes we’ve seen this same storyline happen before but the rehabilitation of a character was what actually made me like Sam all the more in Season 5. Am I giving too much away? Kripke said to expect a cliffhanger and oh boy guys, did we ever get one.

Read on after the jump for my super-sized finale review!

This week we have Russ taking a cruise and finding out that a lot of women will be on it. Little does he know that the women are…let’s just say…older than he is use to. Amidst all the chuckles and laughs, last night we saw Pawnee say goodbye to a town legend: mini horse Li’l Sebastian. Everyone in the parks department is heartbroken and grieving in their own way. As Ron Swanson puts it, half-mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

And that’s exactly what they did, as the parks department decides to hold a memorial to celebrate Li’l Sebastian’s life. After all, it’s the least they can do after he played a big role in the success of Leslie’s harvest festival.

Parks and Recreation – Recap & Review – The Bubble (Part 1)

The Bubble

Original Air Date: May 19, 2011

Valentina D. – TwoCents Reviewer
valentina@thetwocentscorp.com

It’s been a fantastic third season for Parks and Recreation and last night, we said farewell to the local government of Pawnee, Indiana for another summer. They’ve endured a year full of personnel turnovers and a government-wide shutdown, only to come back as strong as ever with a widely successful harvest festival.

Even though Leslie and Ben only got together in last week’s episode after an entire season of will-they won’t-they, they’re already encountering obstacles. In addition to having to sneak around due to Chris’s strict “no office romances” rule, a force from Leslie’s world makes an appearance and threatens to burst their perfect little secretive bubble.

Always the one trying to improve the work environment, Chris tries to shake things up in the parks department with some new government initiatives which doesn’t sit well with the staff. Tom begins to grow disenchanted with his job after Chris sends him and Andy to work on the dreaded fourth floor.

Creed is the new interim manager. He is terrible at it so the hiring team of Jim, Gabe, and Toby are working double time to find a new replacement. Jim is head of the team and Jo’s counting on him to pick someone good. I guess Creed isn’t going to be permanent. Thank goodness for Pam keeping him occupied so he doesn’t drown the place in his hobo crazy.
