Doctor Who – Recap & Review – The Almost People

Doctor Who
The Almost People

Original Air Date: May 28, 2011

Maria – Sr. Reviewer

The second part of the doppelgänger story picks up where The Rebel Flesh left off: The Doctor has just discovered he has a Doctorgänger in the room where he, Amy and the original workers are hiding out. Rory has gone off on his own to try and save Jennifer, but is he safe? The most immediate concern is for the safety of the Doctor though. He seems to always have the most problematic regenerations, and it seems to be the same with duplications too!

Farewell… Jeff Conaway

photo: ap

Jeff Conaway, Actor

It’s with a heavy heart that TTC announces Jeff Conaway has passed away at the age of 60.

Best known for Kenickie in Grease and his two time Globe Globe nominated role of Bobby Wheeler on Taxi, Jeff had been acting since age 10 and would later have parts on the sci-fi show Babylon 5, soap operas and made for TV movies.

Despite being seen mostly recently struggling on VH1’s reality shows Celebrity Fit Club and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, he will always be remembered delivering the classic Grease line “A hickie from Kenickie…

Co-star John Travolta responded to E! News, “Jeff Conaway was a wonderful and decent man, and we will miss him.”

Farewell Jeff

Thank goodness SUMMER is here!! I use the start of SYTYCD as my marker, that and the weather in my neck of the woods has been great. Hope it is for all of you too. Before I get to the auditions, can I just say that Cat Deely is all over the place. She looks gorgeous too. She just did a another spot for Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) which you can see here. And I can’t wait to see what she’s wearing all season.

If this is your first time with SYTYCD let me welcome you to the most amazing talent competition on TV. This show will move you, and make you want to move. If you’re not a fan of the audition process (cause I’m not really) wait a couple weeks until the competition begins, and prepare to be amazed.

So we’re at the season finale of “We will never stop making the title…Cougar Town.” Travis has left school, Grayson wants kids (Jules doesn’t….), Laurie wants a man (I have a feeling Smith isn’t too far away considering the cancellation of Brothers & Sisters…) and Bobby is just trying to find his place with everyone.

Because the gang loves to meddle, when Travis up and goes to Hawaii, Jules decides they’re going to follow. That should be fun, right?

The last episode. I am sitting here wondering what I am supposed to write.

Yes, it was an awesome episode, no doubt about it. The storyline was good, it was surprising and interesting. But I can’t get over that ending, no matter how good that episode was giving it that ‘to be continued’ screen when you already know for weeks that there is nothing to be continued is just plain cruel.

American Idol – Recap & Review – Finale Results

Finale Results

OK, I have to admit, I have to eat crow. I predicted that the producers would really be the ones selecting the winner tonight and I couldn’t have been more wrong. Thank goodness.

But you have to admit that the producers pimped Lauren Alaina in a super-sized way Tuesday night. The good thing is that she took the news with style and grace. Of course, it helps that the two singers in the finale BOTH get a recording contract, unlike a few years ago when only one did.

Last week’s Modern Family had the feel of a season finale. From what I gather, the network flipped the order of these last two episodes, so I wondered if this week would be strong enough to be a season finale. Guess what? It totally was!

My favorite episodes have always had the cast coming together or splitting off in non-couple pairings. Tonight we got Cam and Manny, Gloria and Phil, Claire and Mitchell, and Jay and everyone! So let’s review how our odd couplings interacted this evening.

“Its time to get our summer on!” That’s what Frankie says in the beginning of the show. Tonight is the finale of The Middle until next season and the kids are getting out of school and Frankie is ready for summer. She has prepared herself for the summer with a tiki torch. Yes, only one tiki torch was bought.
