The group is trying to decide on an idea for their final history project. Annie comes up with something about banners and Jeff is totally on board with that because it’s easy and it’s doable. Annie wants to know what Troy and Britta are going to do for their one year anniversary tomorrow. Neither one of them remembers anything about that, but Troy remembers that today is the third year anniversary of the first time he and Abed watched “Freaky Friday” together.

Troy and Abed both wish they could be the other and they start spinning and the lights start flickering and we think they’re going to switch bodies, but no. Jeff sums it up nicely. “We’re all floored that didn’t work.”

Paper Airplane

Toby walks in with an eyepatch and we learn that there has been a paper airplane contest going on. It’s sponsored by WeyerHammer paper company to promote their new paper line called “Airstream Deluxe”. Dwight says it’s practically plastic. They’re down to their Elite Seven. And Toby.

Andy is preparing for his first audition, which is for some kind of safety video. At the audition he makes “character choices” and it’s awkward, of course. Later, they want him to actually use the eyewash station, but Andy has an issue with all things related to eyes. Carla forces him to put his face in that eyewash thing. Darryl happens to be on the set and he gives Andy a pep talk to get him through it.

MyTwoCents – American Idol’s Constantine Maroulis Stars in Broadway’s Jekyl & Hyde

The 13-week limited engagement of Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse’s Jekyll and Hyde stars Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis (Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde) who gained popularity as a finalist on American Idol season four. Grammy-Nominated Deborah Cox stars opposite him as Lucy.

I was invited to a performance of the show to see what the former reality show star brings to the Broadway stage this time around.

The musical starts well enough with Jekyll singing to his father whom he believes has evil in his soul, thus causing a mental illness.

Maroulis, who came in sixth on American Idol, makes an honest attempt at the title roles. Despite a few acting shortcomings, his voice is strong and exactly what you expect from a rock tenor.

Ryan starts the show promising some “shocking news that will turn the competition upside down.” Did it really? Read on to find out.

The Top Four performed Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” and it may be one of the best group numbers ever. I can’t believe I just wrote that because I usually HATE group songs.

The Top Four had to tell five things about themselves that no one knows in 20 seconds. Only Amber got five (she actually got six!). Here’s what they said:

Miranda Bailey has been told she is the heart of Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital. But more so than that, I think she is the spine. Think over the years when she has put so many doctors and patients in their place. And while we’ve seen Bailey cry before (the shooting comes to mind), I think this may be the first time we’ve seen her utterly defeated and broken.

And it is completely powerful. I know Grey’s Anatomy is long past the time when it receives awards and accolades, but Chandra Wilson was incredible tonight. How many viewers didn’t find themselves tearing up while watching her range of emotions this hour?

Over and over we heard one thing — that all the remaining vocalist can sing very, very well. No argument there. So, they said, it came down to song choice and performance style. One contestant clearly came out on top this week, according to the judges.

We also added Jimmy to the judges’ panel tonight, even if he didn’t sit at the table. He did comment after most of the performances. They have four highly paid judges who gush about the singer — then Jimmy who is much more truthful. OK, sometimes he’s too harsh, but that’s better than telling a pitch-challenged contestant hat he has so much courage, instead of giving a real critique.

What’s the fallout after last week’s craziness? Will someone or someones decide they can improve their fortunes by leaving the main alliance and joining with the three guys?

The two people most likely to flip are Sherri and Erik. Erik voted for Phillip last week, as you’ll recall, so he might be ready to join the other dudes. But does he? Sherri is a Fan among Favorites. Is she switching back to the fans?

In another “even more ‘ripped from the headlines’ than usual” episode, SVU this week highlighted the inadequate response to rape on many college campuses. They start by highlighting cringe-worthy sorority hazing rituals.

A girl is told to get some very private film of a guy at a party during pledge week. All goes well until he kisses her then pins her to the bed and brings in two of his friends to rape her. Soon after, she tries to throw herself off the roof.
