Well, it was another painful week to watch the love vignettes; even the guest stars couldn’t salvage the storylines. Each week it is getting tougher and tougher for me to watch. I just wish they would keep the stories simple & sweet and quit with the ridiculous.

This should have been the season premiere. It perfectly encapsulated everything that is good about the show, shook it together, and delivered it with gusto. There was family, romance, nefarious schemes, moral ambiguity – thank you Nix & Co. Thank you very, very much. The main character of this episode wasn’t even present but nonetheless had a huge impact. Michael’s father has only ever been mentioned in passing, but this week he was brought center stage due to Madeline’s involvement in Team Westen’s lastest scheme which involved stopping a yakuza trafficking ring in Miami.

Back to the saga of the Bluth family. It doesn’t matter how many times I see this show; I still find myself cracking up every time. And by this, the second episode, they’re just getting warmed up!

Michael, the long-suffering fool, is attempting to get a hold of the flight records of the Bluth’s company jet in order to prove his father’s innocence and save the company, but his father is making it less than easy. George Sr. is living it up in prison. From the ice cream sandwiches to the gangs fighting over his allegiance, what reason would he have to go back to live on the outside? He introduces Michael to his roomie, T-Bone, who is a convicted arsonist about to be released. George wants Michael to get T-Bone a job at the company, but Michael is less than enthusiastic about the idea. Continue reading

So You Think You Can Dance – Recap & Review – 2 of 16 Voted Off

So You Think You Can Dance
2 of 16 Voted Off

So, the big group number is set to “The Incredits” from The Incredibles Soundtrack and it’s kind of a jazzy broadway numbers. And maybe it’s that Melanie and Ryan are recognizable, or maybe they get put in front, or maybe the camera goes to them more? Something makes them stand out.

Loving Cat Deeley’s style this season. This floral, colorful print number is different than her usual single color number. Her hair accessory could be more obvious, it looks like an afterthought a little bit. She handles last night judges incest with more aplomb than last night. Also fun, we see a clip of Kristen Chenoweth’s music video (which looks terrible but I love her anyway!).

All right, let’s skip the drama, and find out who’s on the block! Check it out after the jump ->

Hot In Cleveland – Recap & Review – Unseparated At Birthdates

Hot In Cleveland
Unseparated At Birthdates

Original Air Date: Jun 29, 2011

Anne – Associate Editor
anne@thetwocentscorp.com

This week on Hot In Cleveland, the girls obviously forget the fiasco they had last season and are again celebrating their fake birthdays. Again, they will be finding dates for each other. Victoria demands to Melanie that there will be no man boobs this year. They all decide to try someone different to their usual “type”. Melanie, Joy and Victoria decide they are 42 this year…and Elka is 50. Yeah right guys! This is going to make for a very funny evening.

At the restaurant, they all meet their dates (I almost typo’d “fates”, oops!). Victoria has set up Joy with Kenny, played by the master of impressions, Frank Caliendo. Vic swears to Joy that he is perfect for her. Melanie sets Victoria up with Timothy, played by Richard Bergi. Elka sets Melanie up with Dr. Doug, who looks suspiciously like Jesus. The scene where he sits in front of the beer sign halo is so funny. He is a veterinarian who heals animals holistically, of course.

Melissa & Joey – Recap & Review – Enemies with Benefits

Melissa & Joey
Enemies With Benefits

Original Air Date: Jun 29, 2011

Colleen – TwoCents Reviewer

Melissa and Joey started what I’ve seen labeled as their “crazier” second season this evening. I’ve been looking forward to the season premiere for some time now. What I love most about this show (other than it’s a comedy – and who couldn’t use a good laugh after a long day at work or just a long day, period?) is the chemistry that Joey Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart have.

The main storyline of tonight’s show was between the two main characters, Mel (Melissa Joan Hart) and her “manny” Joe (Joey Lawrence). Joe has reconnected with his ex-wife, Tiffany, who had left him after the “gravy train ran out of gravy”. It seems that he really cares for her again (or is it still?). Mel finds this to crazy…but she isn’t the only one in the house to think so.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. – Summer DVD Review – No Man’s Land

Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
No Man’s Land

Original Air Date: September 10, 1993

MjL – TwoCents Reviewer

When we last saw our fated hero, Brisco ran into a jealous old friend who once led him into a nearly fatal ambush. He managed to escape that fate alive and even corrected the injustice of his now corrupt and vindictive “friend”.

This week, Brisco heads into town engulfed by chaos. People are running to and fro trying to avoid the smoke and flames. As Brisco comes upon a calm and collected emergency evacuator, Brisco confirms his suspicions of who the culprits might be, the Swill Brothers, the men who ambushed him so long ago.

Time to gather the posse… Regu-watchers, let’s saddle up!

I am heartbroken. Not only did I miss last week’s episodes (thanks Karen for coverage!) but my early favorite Nick was ousted! I know that of the choices, the judges did well, but I’m still disappointed. At least now we can focus, right? Eight couples, and I’ve already got at least one couple I’m ready to get rid of (can you guess who?).

Before we get down to the floor, we have to check in on Cat Deeley’s style. Love the hair, and really like the dress. Very flapper-esque. Also, we have an extra guest judge. In addition to Nigel and Mary we’ve got Lil C and Kristen Chenoweth. She’s the cutest thing on the planet, while Lil C kind of drives me crazy.

This week we get Mozzie’s back story. As a fan of his character since the beginning, I was really excited about this episode and it did not disappoint. We learned Mozzie is as much a sentimentalist as he is a very good con artist.

Plus, we get to see Neal and Peter go undercover trying to save our favorite sidekick from trouble, with some great humorous moments and the cutest young Mozzie you could imagine.
