True Blood – Recap & Review – I’m Alive and On Fire

Amnesiac Eric is officially my new favorite character. My one complaint for this episode is that they spent far too much time on the people we don’t care that much about (I’m looking at you, Mrs. Mikkens) and not enough on the delightfully unfolding Eric storyline.

It was a busy day in Bon Temps – Jason escaped (finally!) from Felton, the slack-jawed panther yokel (dare I hope that we’re closing the books on panthergeddon?), Bill managed to be simultaneously charming and unforgivably boring, Alcide got nekkid, and Marnie tried her darndest to channel her higher power.

I am overjoyed at the chance to recap the fourth and possibly penultimate season of the reason scripted TV is still better than reality TV.

At season’s end, the boss, Gus, was fed up with Walt’s entanglement with Jesse. Happy that his man, Gale, had learned to cook Walt’s meth recipe, Gus had a bullet bound for Walt’s skull. Only problem was that as Walt was staring down the barrel of a gun, so too was Gale staring down the barrel of Jesse’s. Does Walt get out of the predicament this time? Let’s find out…

Holy Salt Water! – Supernatural Mondays – Remembering Casey

Welcome everyone to my new weekly Monday column, Holy Salt Water!, devoted to everything and anything Supernatural! In this I dissect particular aspects of the show and its lore to bring you my TwoCents, and hopefully spark renewed debate about topics both old and new. This week I want to revisit Casey, a sinuous demon in Season Three’s Sin City. She offered a different perspective to Dean’s moral compass, and to me changed the way I would later view Ruby and the distinction between right and wrong in the Supernatural ‘verse.

This week’s vignettes deal with men, relationships and growing up to be real men. We have Tommy going from a one night stand to actually getting to know the girl he spent the night with. Ben learns a lesson from an older more experienced woman. Dale has some fantasies of the office receptionist and not wanting to change his life style just because he is going to be a dad.

Big Brother – Recap & Review – Week 1 Eviction

Big Brother
Week 1 Eviction

Original Air Date: JUL 14, 2011

Happy first eviction night! A Pepto-abysmally clad Julie Chen tells us the votes during this first eviction will show who really holds the power in the house – the veteran alliance of six (led by Brenchel at this point, which is slightly terrifying), or the eight Big Brother newbies and their inner circle of four, The Regulators. Porsche and Keith are both confident that they have the votes to stay in the house, but they can’t both be right. The player who stays in the game joins Daniele as a Big Brother Golden Key holder, and, after saying goodbye to the evicted houseguest, the remaining players putt for power in the HoH competition.
