After 3 long weeks, we are back in the Hamptons! This week begins with Daniel waking up as Emily tries to sneak out of his room. He is excited that they no longer need to keep their relationship secret, but Emily is distracted. She is worried about Nolan, who had been questioned by the police overnight about Padma’s death.

Victoria provides Conrad with falsified medical records, proving to him that her teenage pregnancy was terminated. Conrad wants this to be used during his “Nightline” interview should any questions come up. Victoria is far from pleased about airing this for the sake of the campaign.

Things that you plan and want for yourself can get derailed, sometimes by very serious things. What emerges can be positive even if it’s not what you expected or it can be negative.

Thursday, April 4, 1968. The day that Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis. That’s when this episode begins. The immediate aftermath of the assassination was rioting in cities across the country. You remember that feeling a couple weeks ago when you found out about the Boston Marathon bombing? The characters go through a similar thing with this catastrophe. Actually, I felt a stronger relationship to the characters than usual as they watched events unfold and tried to keep informed. They were worried, stressed, unsure. I’m sure you can relate.

Once again, we see examples of choices defining the person. Even if you want to change, sometimes past choices will force your hand – unless you’re truthful and truly want to repent; but the road is long and hard. In other words, killing is bad – just say no.

In Fairytale (pre-curse), no one likes Regina – especially her subjects. The people of her Kingdom are harboring Snow and they’re not telling – not even if she slaughters whole villages. Makes you think why her subjects are hesitant to embrace Regina, huh? To find Snow and unveil the reason for her people’s lack of loyalty, Regina enlists Rumpel’s help.

Doctor Who
Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

Space is pretty big, but it can also be pretty boring. At least for the Van Baalens, three brothers who make up an entire salvage crew. But there’s little to salvage this far out, and Tricky is aware of that yet his brothers mock him, telling him androids don’t get bored. Strange little family.

Speaking of families, the Doctor is rather put out that that the TARDIS and Clara don’t seem to get along, so he lowers the TARDIS’ shields in order for them to attempt to bond. Oh Doctor. Instead, it allows the salvage ship to detect them and grab them. Oops.

“The Demon came home, and he declared that the air was not clear. ‘I smell the flesh of man.’”

I’ve heard of stories where swiping Egyptian tomb artifacts leads to untimely deaths but taking rocks (rocks!!) and the Devil will get you?!! Only in Portland, Grimm! Rocks, just rocks. What kind of evil tree-huggers live in Portland, Grimm!!? Do the crazies gravitate to this Hell Mouth or does it bring the crazy out in its inhabitants?

Oh the horror. Not only has Penny been recording things on Sheldon’s DVR again, but SyFy has canceled Alphas – throwing Sheldon into an uproar because of the cliffhanger that season two ended with. He’s looking for the number to call the network. Penny feels sorry for whoever gets that call. Leonard’s right though – they would have to expect calls from angry geeks if they’re going to focus on Science Fiction programming.

And for the record, I wholeheartedly agree that they shouldn’t have canceled Firefly, and that it’s only polite to at least make a movie to wrap things up when you cancel a show.

Elementary
Dead Man’s Switch

Original Air Date: Apr 25, 2013

Laura Kelley – Associate Staff Writer
Laurakelley@thetwocentscorp.com

Elementary is back at long last, and with its return comes one of its most interesting storylines yet. Holmes’s likeable sponsor Alfredo is back, this time in need of help: he wants Holmes to find the man who’s blackmailing his sponsor. The blackmailer is in cahoots, if you’ll pardon the term, with the man who raped the sponsor’s daughter and recorded it, and now he’s ready to release the video of the crime. He’s even prepared to have an associate do it if he should be killed, so it’s safe to say he’s not messing around (neither is Watson with that outfit. Yowza.) Holmes takes on the case and finds his way to the home of the man blackmailing Alfredo’s sponsor and surmises that he isn’t the only father of a victim being blackmailed. Hit the jump for more.

Parks and Recreation
Swing Vote

Original Air Date: Apr 25, 2013

Valentina D. – Senior Reviewer
valentina@thetwocentscorp.com

While we’re approaching the season finale next week, this was a great episode of Parks that reflected some of the big changes the Pawnee gang have experienced. Whether it be in life, career, or retirements, it seems as if everyone in the parks department has gone through an upheaval this year.

As Leslie tries to save the town’s mini golf park, she finds herself butting heads with Ron when he wants to close the park to save money. The deciding vote is held by Councilman Jamm, who’s been a heck of a villain this season, so Leslie and Ron must sweet talk him onto their respective sides. Or, as Jamm says, pump him full of snow cones.

The CW Network has given early pickups to three additional dramas for next season, including the first new series order of the season with THE ORIGINALS, the highly anticipated spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, which was introduced during last night’s episode. The network also gave advance orders for the second season of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST andthe third season of HART OF DIXIE. The pickups were announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

“As soon as we saw last night’s episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ we knew we wanted more of ‘The Originals’ – Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for ‘The Originals,’” said Pedowitz. “We’re also very excited to bring back ‘Beauty And The Beast’ and ‘Hart of Dixie’ for next season – both series continue to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate. I’m very happy to have all three series on the schedule for next season.”
