So last night, our top eleven went down to our top ten, and not without some drama. When is there not drama? We had tempers flaring, food spilling, steaks burning, nearly blown rewards, and giant crustaceans.

But fiirstly, I was out of commission last week and didn’t get a recap up, so here’s the lowdown for “Top 12 Compete”: Christian and Ben headed up teams to cook hors d’oeuvres for a Hollywood party, and Christian’s team won the challenge with the best two out of three dishes. It should be noted that Christine rocked her beef Wellington and took 100% of the votes for that course. It just wasn’t enough, though…

The Closer – Recap & Review – Repeat Offender

The Closer
Repeat Offender

This week, I have to say I was completely shocked by this episode. I mean, we all saw the previews of this weeks episode and we saw a funeral in progress so we know that Chief Delk probably died. Tonight we learn that he did die of an aneurism. I had a feeling that Pope was not going to leave the show so something big like this had to happen.

Anyway, the big jaw dropper to me was that Pope was appointed interim Chief of the LAPD! I never thought that he would be appointed. Brenda learns this while Pope is speaking at Delk’s funeral. Her expression was of course shock, but I think she was glad that she didn’t get the job because she likes to solve cases, not sit at a desk all day. Pope didn’t tell her before hand because he learned of this in the car on the way to the funeral.

Warehouse 13 – Recap & Review – Trial

Myka’s back! Myka’s back! Everybody happy dance! She’s a bit freaked though. I guess I didn’t fully grasp how much last season’s finale affected her. But it’s clear, and in her voice over we see how scary it is for her. But she still speaks “Pete” which is awesome. Tonight’s artifact, does something crazy to a pilot while in the descent. PS- thanks for pointing out that Steve Jinks is actually played by Aaron Ashmore, Shawn’s twin. They both have impressive resumes, and apparently all this I thought I was seeing Shawn I was actually seeing Aaron (“Veronica Mars”, “In Plain Sight”)!

Plus, Artie sends Claudia and Steve on a trip to pick an artifact at auction. And Claudia is the lead agent, complete with a little dance. Myka and Pete are partners again, on the case of the pilot. Then in the operating room, one of the doctors gets hit by the same weird metal eye thing. Eeek.

Welcome back to the summer session of Degrassi… which takes places during the Spring semester of school for our favorite Canadian teens. We’ve got seven weeks of four episode per week, so a lot of recapping coming your way! So let’s get recapping on Now Or Never!

As a quick note, I’ll do my best to get you all the single-episode recap/reviews the night they air, but I’ll post the two-parters on the second night and write them up together. Unless I think it’s really, really intense and I want it to have its own post. So in other words, check back often. If you don’t see the Degrassi story yet, peruse some of our other fine reading!

This week, the beautiful and talented Felicia Day joins the cast for a recurring role as the awkward Dr. Holly Martin. She’s awkward but so cute. Turns out she turned down a job at GD, but she’s there to audit them, which freaks Fargo out a little. He plays “Eye of the Tiger” to get pumped, but Jensen Ackles does it better.

At SARAH, Alison is leaving the baby with Jack and Kevin. She’s nervous, but this isn’t Jack’s first time. Henry and his lady are having a nice breakfast with a soundtrack too. Something is going to happen with the music in this episode I’m sure of it!

Tom the former history professor would probably tell us that the worse thing that can happen to an army is internal fighting, and that’s exactly what begins happening in the first of this two-part episode.

A family comes to Dr. Anne concerned their small son’s cold, but its’ all a ruse as they hold her at gunpoint in attempt to get antibiotics. They’re heading out on their own and need the meds for bargaining. Dr. Anne fights them but they overcome her and escape. But Tom, Hal and Weaver go after them and are surprised to get help from another soldier.

So that was an ending tonight! I’m not going to start with the end, but wow… that was a surprise. Did you see it coming?

Tonight was all about the interactive relationships, with a little bit of an after-school special flavor thrown in for good measure. All of our key players (except John and Regina) interacted and overlapped. But am I wondering if poor Abuelita is hiding somewhere?

This episode may be my favorite ever. It was fresh, filled with great story telling and boasted lots of romance. Yes, there’s a heist, but it is secondary to the decades long love story of Charlie and Dorothy, a mixed race couple in the ‘40s. And playing the 88-year-old Charlie is the wonderful Danny Glover.

Now, my husband wants to point out he only thought it was so-so. Not enough action for him. He’s just not as much a romance fan as I am. Ah well…

Shelly and Kalia may have The Newbies fooled after last week’s eviction, but it’s Dominic and Adam who are catching the heat from the house. Which, according to Lawon, is a heat “furious like a volcano on a hot day in Hawaii getting ready to erupt!” Sound scary? Well, it can’t be any worse than the steam coming out of Rachel’s ears when Cassi refuses to back down in an argument…

Another week, another difficult witness with family problems. I think its become clear that this season is about families and how yes, sometimes we don’t like them and they cause us trouble, but that they are still our family and we still love them.

This theme was evident with Mary’s own life as she takes the next step in giving up her baby (and dog) for adoption and in her own road trip to deliver a message to a witness. This means Marshall and Stan are left with the main witness and we learn that they are no Marshal Mary, but they do their best.
