So after last night’s episode messed with the format we are comfortable with, tonight, we returned to form. We had our A, B, and C story, although one of them was decidedly high on the ick factor.

Tonight felt like a regular Degrassi episode with online posting mishaps, judgmental friends, bloodshed, inappropriate sex, and … panty raids. Yes, you read that right.

Big Brother – Recap & Review – Week 2 Veto Competition & Ceremony

Week 2 Veto Competition & Ceremony

Original Air Date: Jul 20, 2011

Lauren A – TwoCents Reviewer

In a shocking turn of events, Jeff and Jordan are quite possibly the most intelligent houseguests this week. Jordan totally sees through the girls’ jealousy of Cassi and calls Rachel “freaking nuts”, while Jeff plots a post-BB career developing and marketing “Rachel-Off” and quotes Albert Einstein. Outside of The Brenchel Show, stakes are high for nominees Adam and Dominic, but they may be higher for Cassi since she’s found her way to Rachel’s bad side. Of course, I’m not sure there was a way around that since all sides of Rachel are… well, you know.

The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. – Summer DVD Review – Pirates!

Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Pirates!

Original Air Date: Oct 8, 1993

MjL – TwoCents Reviewer
MjL@thetwocentscorp.com

Brisco County Jr has been dealing with some nefarious members of Bly’s gang over the last few episodes. They all have had one thing in common to this point – they were western wear folk. You know the type – cowboy hats, chaps and revolvers. Well, this week we are treated to sabers and crossbones. Now, how can pirates actually exist in the Old West you ask? With a little of that old creative ingenuity is my response.

An exclamation point regu-watchers… that’s what the title of this week’s episode has, so let’s saddle up or is it shuffle aboard me mateys.

So You Think You Can Dance – Recap & Review – Top 10 Perform

So You Think You Can Dance
Top 10 Perform

Original Air Date: Jul 20, 2011

Rachel M – Senior Staff Writer
rachelm@thetwocentscorp.com

Did I miss the announcement of who the All-Stars will be? I love ’em all so it’s all good, and I’m excited with this format (better than the 10 contestants and All-Stars mashup) but I also miss seeing the best contestants be paired up. What do you think of the formatting changes? Also, are you happy with the top 10? I have a few I would switch, but overall I’m pretty happy.

L.O.V.E Cat’s dress tonight! Plus the incomparable NPH is judging!! LOVE HIM, I wish he was my fairy godmother or something. On to the dancing right? Okay, fine!

The Nine Lives of Chloe King – Recap & Review – Nothing Compares 2 U

The Nine Lives of Chloe King
Nothing Compares 2 U

I know you’ve been as worried as me, wondering what the outcome of Paul’s little miscalculation last week would be (trust me guys, when a woman says she wants more romance it doesn’t mean to hop between the sheets!) and how much longer Chloe can justify dragging Brian along for a dead-end ride. Also, what are the penalties for killing another Mai? And when will Chloe realize how Alek feels about her and that she should be with him? And of course, when will Daddy King show up?

While we don’t get all these answers yet, we do get some in this episode that includes a few of my favorite parts of the series: excellent displays of Mai abilities, touching Chloe-Mom girlie moments and fabulous wardrobe!

Almost every episode of Degrassi follows the same format. It usually has an A, B, and C story. Usually one of the three is far more engaging than the other two. But tonight, they decided to shake up the mold.

Tonight we got an A-story, and three almost story arcs. We’re not getting part one and two at this point, but tomorrows preview sure looks like a part two to me… But let’s get what happened tonight out of the way…

The top ten cooks got to battle it out last night in their team challenges. With Tracy and Giuseppe having won Monday’s aphrodisiac challenge, they got to pick their teams and cook for some seriously tough and intimidating critics. Even the judges said these critics were hard on them!

Oh, and these judges seemed to have a knack for disagreeing on what they wanted to eat, which made the challenge even harder. In the end, they sent a team to the pressure test that consisted entirely of people I did not want to see leave, and two of them failed the test spectacularly.

Veronica Mars – Summer DVD Review – Betty and Veronica

photo: the wb

Veronica Mars
Betty and Veronica

Original Air Date: Mar 29, 2005

Ryan O – Two Cents Associate Staff Writer
ryano@thetwocentscorp.com

This episode shows that Veronica could be popular (on her own and not just because she’s Lilly’s friend) in another time and place as she goes undercover at another high school and people really like her. We also see that Veronica really cares for Wallace in a real and meaningful way. It’s one of the things that makes Veronica more than just a wounded tough girl. She’s capable of caring for people in her life.

This episode also revolves around stealing mascots before the big game with the rival high school. So, there’s a goat in a van. What’s better than a goat in a van? Practically nothing that’s what.

Still haven’t watched the episode but want to? Watch it on thewb.com.
