The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. – Summer DVD Review – Senior Spirit

Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Senior Spirit

Original Air Date: Oct 15, 1993

I have been enjoying the adventures of Brisco Jr quite a bit, but always get a little sad when there is no appearance by Bly after a few episodes. His name is thrown about so much each episode, he has more legend than Voldemort (just saw HP7pt2 so easy comparison). So, when an episode comes around with the famed villainous mastermind, I get a little giddy (blame Potter fans for my ability to know giddy).

So, this week the tension gets thick. When Bly rears his ugly serpent head, it’s to ambush Brisco transporting a robber baron’s son and kidnap the kid. Bly escapes when Brisco hesitates to walk through a blind door knowing Bly is on the other side. Does he fear his father’s fate awaits him? Regu-watchers, saddle up cause I won’t accept such a notion.

Who says it’s too late to start a recap & review of a rookie show at the penultimate episode of the season!?! As if Jared Franklin and Peter Bash would have it any other way!

After all, these 30-something LA attorneys, best buds and sole principals in the titular law firm only know one way to operate – the unorthodox way.

So You Think You Can Dance
Top 8 Perform

It’s getting closer! I still have a few dancers I’m willing to cut, so as long as the votes go my way, I’ll be happy til the finale. Of course that rarely happens so…

Am I the only one who thinks that Lady Gaga is a terrible choice for guest judge? All the guests this season have been a little strange, but Lady Gaga? I’m just so over it. Especially when I see her costume, ugh. Maybe she’ll be great, we’ll see after the jump!

KPonTV on 2011 Emmy Picks – Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy

emmy picks: supporting actor comedy

Every year I attempt to predict the Emmys. I’m usually wrong. How wrong? If I was a weather man, I’d predict snow in July.

However, I’m a self-proclaimed TV critic and thus, it’s in my mental contract with myself to try to predict the winners. I am fortunate enough to have seen at least SOME of the episodes of most of the nominated shows and can speak pretty well on most of the actors. So, let’s see if my predictions can hold any water this year. (I wouldn’t hold your breath.)

In any case, I hope I can start a debate with you all and we can discuss the possible winners in the comments below. Here we go!

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

2010 Winner: Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family

Veronica Mars – Summer DVD Review – Hot Dogs

Veronica Mars
Hot Dogs

Original Air Date: Apr 19, 2005

Aaron Echolls is crazy and Weevil loved Lilly. Those are two things we knew from earlier episodes but are driven home by what happens in this one and we begin to gain a deeper understanding of these two secondary characters.

Veronica helps a socially awkward girl recover her lost dog. While Veronica does have a soft spot for dogs, being a dog-owner herself, and helps the girl out, she wants the girl to have a bit more backbone. Veronica stands up for herself and wants others to do the same. By the end of the episode, the girl has does take a small, if violent, step in that direction.

This week we tackle an episode I think really embodies how the show handles politics. There are national and international issues to deal with, as well as a campaign politics, keeping the staff very busy the entire time. So, lots of walk and talks in this episode.

Also, throughout the series, there have been some amazing guest stars and new characters worked into the original cast. In some shows, new cast doesn’t always gel, but for this show, they are all amazing and this episode happens to feature some great ones, including Lily Tomlin, Mary-Louise Parker, Mark Harmon and even a short glimpse at James Brolin.
