The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. – Summer DVD Review – Brisco for the Defense

Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Brisco for the Defense

Original Air Date: Oct 22, 1993

Brisco’s by now really start to chap Bly’s hide. He’s picking Bly’s crew off one by one weekly (how convenient) and just destroyed Bly’s favorite hideout. However, Bly got to see an orb at work and now knows the mystical power it can bring, so he’s determined to possess one more than ever before.

Brisco is really living up to his legendary law enforcing namesake, but this week we’re reminded of his ivy league educational background, when an old school buddy requests his presence and makes Brisco the defense team in his murder trial. Regu-watchers, let’s get out the past cases that take precedence and watch on.

KPonTV on 2011 Emmy Picks – Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy

emmy picks: supporting actress comedy

Every year I attempt to predict the Emmys. I’m usually wrong. How wrong? If I was a weather man, I’d predict snow in July.

However, I’m a self-proclaimed TV critic and thus, it’s in my mental contract with myself to try to predict the winners. I am fortunate enough to have seen at least SOME of the episodes of most of the nominated shows and can speak pretty well on most of the actors. So, let’s see if my predictions can hold any water this year. (I wouldn’t hold your breath.)

In any case, I hope I can start a debate with you all and we can discuss the possible winners in the comments below. Here we go!

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

2010 Winner: Jane Lynch, Glee

Tonight’s season finale is all business. When Stanton Infeld is on trial for murdering an old friend, everything else is secondary. And you know the writers are all business because the story arcs are introduced in a mere two minutes before the opening theme. That has to be an F&B record. So let’s get to it and you can share your comments/questions at the end! Oh, and if you’re here to see guest star Tricia Helfer in black lingerie, fast forward your DVR to about 9 minutes in!

Big Brother – Recap & Review – Week 4 Veto Competition & Ceremony

Big Brother
Week 4 Veto Competition & Ceremony

Once upon a time, in a CBS lot far, far away, ten remaining peasants battled it out for the chance at another week in the Big Brother castle. Or something like that. With BB King and Queen Brenchel sentenced to the not-so-royal nominee thrones by “evil” (or would it be Evel?) Princess Daniele, the house anxiously awaits Thursday’s eviction. Unless of course, the PoV dragon can be slayed by one half of the Royal couple, foiling the princess’ plan…

It’s not going to get any easier to see people go home, is it? Most people, anyway. I’m sure you all know whose New England behind I would like to see booted out. The attitude of one cook aside, though, everyone left has talent and deserves to be there. Some more than others. The commercial said the elimination this time was “shocking”, too, and ads don’t lie, right? Right? You be the judge.

As a bonus this week, we got pictures of the judges and cooks as kids, crawly critters, blood (yum), and shortened cooking times. On to the show…

The Nine Lives of Chloe King – Recap & Review – Heartbreaker

The Nine Lives of Chloe King
Heartbreaker

Well, just when they give us something to howl with joy about, they snatch it back! This was an intense episode to watch, with emotional distress for Chloe coming from all directions. And for the first time we see a complete breakdown in the relationship with her Mom, Meredith. The real tragedy for us Team Aleks though is the backtracking from the kiss. Why are they doing this to us! Everyone knows they belong together!

While I don’t always like episodes where Chloe and her gang of human/Mai supporters get involved in non-Mai related battles, the robbery storyline in this episode felt much more organic than, say, the drug dealer storyline a few episodes ago. So what happens when Chloe gets in the middle of a fight between two robbers?

Mutually assured destruction is a term from strategic nuclear policy (just bear with me for a moment). It refers to the idea that with two enemies facing off against each other, both armed with nuclear weapons and both unable to defend against the other’s weapons, one enemy launching weapons will trigger a launch from the other and result in the destruction of both. Therefore, that keeps both parties from launching. But, you need both parties to operate based on logic and not emotion. When it comes to people, sometimes emotion is stronger than logic.

Covert Affairs – Recap & Review – Sad Professor

Sad Professor

Karen – Sr Staff Writer

This episode shed some light on how operatives in the CIA have to keep many secrets from their family and loved ones. Annie is surprised to find out that her former language professor, who was recently killed, was a CIA agent. She also finds out that his grieving widow had no idea that he was an agent, and she is the one to break the news to her.

Throughout this episode we see how Annie is struggling with the fact her sister does not know about her day job and she does not want Danielle to have to go through the shock and anger that the professor’s wife is going through.
